I live in a flat in San Francisco so it's a fact that we have limited storage space at home. For years I've been switching out my "winter" clothes and "summer" clothes twice yearly, placing the out-of-season clothes in our garage storage area. Not only is this a big pain but it is not logical either. San Francisco does not even have winter... or summer! A few weekends ago I found myself doing "the swap" and decided this was going to be the last time! I got onto craigslist and found a great deal on some IKEA PAX Wardrobes. The problem was I had no means (or time) to get those particleboard giants from Mountain View to SF. Where Task Rabbit and other movers failed, Goltry Moving Services succeeded. I called Christian on a Wednesday morning at 8:30 and he was in Mountain View by 12:30 PM that day disassembling the wardrobes for delivery. He quoted me a very fair flat rate to disassemble three wardrobes and move them from MV to SF. No add-on costs for the dis-assembly work. No add-on fees for mileage or drive time. No add-ons for bridge tolls (I know there is no bridge between MV and SF but some other guy wanted me to pay his bridge toll because he lived in the East Bay - and so does Christian). The dis-assembly work took longer than expected but Christian was not at all upset when he called to let me know (I love that he cared enough to update me on the progress). He was mostly concerned that the work was done correctly without damaging the wardrobes. He kept track of all the hardware and delivered the bits and pieces to me in a plastic bag. Nothing was missing! I felt bad about the whole thing taking so long so I helped him unload his van when he got to my place. I wanted him to get back across the bay before traffic got too bad! Not only did Christian do a great job with the move but he was super nice and a pleasure to work with. I hope I don't need any moving services in the near future but if\when I do I will definitely contact Christian again. I moved last month from Alameda, Ca, to Mesa AZ. I rented and drove the truck. I was given Christian Goltry's business card from a truck rental company in Alameda, and I was glad, because I had a great move and with nothing being damaged. I hired Christian just to load, as we did our own packing. He and his crew reported on time and for over 5 hours worked very quickly and efficiently to fully load the 26 feet truck I had rented. The truck was loaded very efficiently and he assured that all my belongings fitted in the truck, and also no damaged was done to the house, especially since it had small rooms and a tight corridor.The truck was loaded so that when I arrived at my destination, after 750 miles, nothing had shifted out of place nor damaged. Christian and crew were very courteous and professional. He even helped me with the car Dolly I towed. The fees were more than reasonable, and much less than I been quoted by other movers I had contacted for hourly estimates. I highly recommend him to anyone. Christian helped me moving a Queen size bed from SF to Alameda. He was on-time, friendly, and professional. We had great conversation while sitting in traffic! Plus, he is super skilled at navigating his van around SF, and parking and everything despite all the tight turns and narrow streets. This guy is really good at what he does. And he has a lot of experience over the years, working for other people as well as for himself. (Even though he was already helping me, I basically interviewed him in the car.) I would have been at a total loss without him and it would have taken me much longer if I had tried to do it myself with a u haul truck. I think the most impressive part of his work was not how efficiently and thoroughly he wrapped the bed in shrink wrap, or disassembled the bedframe... it was how considerate he was of other people at all times during the process. Everything from how we lined the stuff up in a narrow hallway, to how he parked the van for loading. Stop researching and contact Goltry Moving Services right now. After living above Christian for two years, my wife and I can personally vouch for him. We recently moved during the holiday season and Christian was able to move us across town with little notice. Everything was included from the u-haul to the blankets and shrink-wrap protecting your belongings, to the first class service and positive nonstop attitude. We even had to beg him to stop and take lunch. Even then, it was one bite, move one item...one more bite, move another item. If you haven't already made up your mind, here's one last point. The morning of, Christian called his regular u-haul pickup. They assured him the correct size truck was available. He went to get the truck and the keys were not there. He went to another u-haul location and 8 of their trucks had stolen batteries. He had to go to a third location to get a smaller truck and didn't charge us for the extra trip to get the rest of the items that didn't fit the first time. Talk about going the extra mile. After reading a few reviews for other companies I found on Craigslist, I decided on Christian's company for the competitive price he quoted and his warm demeanor over the phone. I had a jr. one-bedroom with some large/heavy/fragile items (sleeper sofa, mahogany desk, glass coffee table, boxes of art/architecture books). He and his assistant carried the sofa down four flights of a spiral staircase and up two flights at my new place, and they kindly moved things to the upstairs master bedroom for me even though I had neglected to mention those stairs to him in our initial conversation (another windy staircase, no less)--other companies would have tried to charge me more, but Christian took it all in stride. Christian helped me move my stuff from San Jose to Cupertino with very little headaches! The whole process was very smooth and his prices are reasonable. The move was planned carefully- all items were either tightly packed or wrapped. He's also not shady with his blankets! We all fear movers breaking our stuff but when you see this guy pack your stuff, he's even more careful then I am. I enjoyed his presence too- very friendly guy. During the unloading and placing period, I've made numerous changes without one attitude slip. I did feel bad so I told him to give me a little bit more time to think of where to place my items. Christian assisted me in moving all of my-too-much-stuff from Oakland to my new home on the Peninsula. While I had a whole van-full of belongings, I had little furniture; the biggest item I had was a queen sized mattress Christian is a great communicator, met me in Oakland 4 hours after I contacted him, and was punctual.
