Over priced skinny burrito. Just go to a taqueria and get you a California burrito. You will thank me later

For drinks, my husband and our friends tried some of the margaritas from their large and unique margaritas menu, as well as their hibiscus agua fresca. All of the drinks were very pretty and it seemed like everyone enjoyed them, too! We started with their chips and salsa trio, which we all really liked. The chips were on the thicker side, but were crispy and not stale or chewy at all. Each of the salsas were quite different, and two were served warm, which we really liked! For the price, I'd consider getting the chips and salsa as a non-negotiable, honestly. For entrees, we tried the enchilada rojas, chilaquiles verde w/ chicken and beef, birria barbacoa ramen, and huaraches. My husband felt like his ramen could have included more meat, but aside from that everyone really enjoyed what they ordered. The highlight was probably the desserts, though! We got a quatro leches and two ordered of their giant and amazing churros. Both were incredibly tasty and reason enough to return for another visit in the future!

My soyrizo burrito with guacamole came to 12 dollars. The size was comparably huge like Chipotle. I like the myriad options they have here. They have four types of salsa in addition to pico de gallo. They also have cotija cheese along with cilantro and onions so you can pretend to eat authentic Mexican rather than the usual Tex-Mex. The taste was fresh and the tomatillo salsa had a surprising kick that you don't notice until near the end. The line was not busy compared to the neighbouring Chick-fil-a so you get your food fast if you know what you're ordering.

I would describe this is more authentic and less Tex mex than chipotle but the ingredients are always super fresh. The steak meat is tender and tasty and the chicken is also great. I usually get a salad/burrito bowl but this time I tried the crispy tacos. I wasn't a big fan of the ground beef(carne molida), because it was too greasy and I didn't care for the flavor. My. Co worker got the taco salad and she loved it, but she said it could have used more lettuce, but it was piled high with toppings so you really can't complain much. The people are always friendly here, but they are closed on the weekends and only open from 11-2pm during the week I believe the sign said.

Knowing that I'm not a fan, one may ask, "why do you continue to go?". This most recent time was a birthday lunch with my coworkers. It wasn't my birthday, so I didn't get a vote. I had the chicken flautas. They were okay and the portion size is very generous, but the food always tastes like something I can get from the grocery store freezer section. Our server was really good. She was on top of our drink orders and special requests like a pro. A bad server can make you never return to a restaurant, but a good one won't make you come back without great food. If I was rating on service alone, I would give Chuy's 5 stars. The restaurant was semi-loud but I think it was mainly because the music was loud. However, my coworkers and I liked the songs selections. Early 90's sing-along songs. That was fun. Well, there you have it. Chuy's and me are not a match.

So, I don't remember how it was. I came back because I was lazy to cook something and didn't want to drive far to get something more delicious. Just to say the least, they serve Mexican food, just not delicious Mexican food. It could have been better. Maybe it was the hours I went. I usually get here around midnight. My friend and I stopped by for a midnight snack. He ordered a beef fajita and I ordered 2 tacos of different proteins and a chicken torta. I tried his beef fajita and yuk it was tough as hell. They used lean thinly sliced tough meats strips. The tacos were ok. But the chicken torta, OMG. The meat was so salty and bun was soggy. Ugh. Charro beans was a joke. It was so watered down. Cilantro was browning. Chips and salsa were decent. Burrito was pretty good as a takeout.
