I reached out via cell and Alex responded the same day asking for more info. I texted it all to him. The next day he emailed me a quote and laid out all the info. The pricing was very fair, and based on his quick response time and great reviews, I decided to hire them. I am very glad that I did. My move went extremely well. I hired 2 movers and a 20-foot truck. Eugene and Serg were great. They clearly communicated their arrival time and kept me updated via text. There were 2 pick up locations - my storage unit and my parent's house. They had everything from storage wrapped and packed into the truck in 2 hours. Then we went to my parents for a few more things, we were out of there in under an hour. They drove to Jersey City and then had the entire truck unpacked and moved in and all the packing material cleaned up in 3 hours. It was an extremely hot day and the guys worked really hard and very quickly. If the job was something they didn't/couldn't do, the least they could do is tell you instead of ignoring you. I asked if they could do one thing - wrap my furniture in blankets - and he answered "no, it's our policy not to wrap the furniture with pads prior to putting them in the truck, as it makes it very difficult to carry the items. I apologize that we won't be able to meet your specific needs and we will not be able to move you." I emailed him back, said I'd be OK with that (even though it wasn't ideal for me), and I haven't heard back. This was 4 days ago. They're incredibly quick with it, just make sure everything is packed and ready to go when they show up. They called me when they were 45 minutes away and arrived promptly. When they arrived, they were organized, professional, and fast. With 3 guys, it took under 2 hours to unload a 15 foot U-Haul. My final total plus processing fee was actually lower than quote range they gave me. The best bit: my front door was sliiiiiiightly too small to fit my couch through. I was mentally over everything to do with moving at that point and was going to say we could put it back on the truck and donate it. But what did the Old City guys do? They tried to take it through the window, which was also slightly too small! They had to disassemble the window, bring my couch in, then put the window back together!
