Came for a quick evening dinner and was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful interior! Located in Rice Village. There was a good amount of parking when we arrived. There wasn't too many guests when we came and so we were quickly seated, and they immediately provided us with our menu and water! They had a lot of great Thai classics on their menu and so we ordered the pad kee mao, the crab fried rice and chicken sayay skewers. Right off the bat I feel like all three dishes had the perfect amount of spice. Definitely spicy, but not to a point where it was overwhelming! The fried rice had a ton of crab meat as you can see in the picture and it was delicious. The chicken had a very nice salty nutty sauce that appeared with really well.

Cute spot nestled in Rice Village. We went during lunchtime on a weekend and we were quick to be seated and served. I ordered a Thai iced tea which was really yummy. Also ordered their papaya salad which was quite saucy but full of flavor with fish sauce and lime juice. We ordered the pad kee mao (drunken noodles) with tofu which was heavier on the tofu, wished they added more noodles as I really liked the wide shape and chewy texture of them. We also ordered a yellow curry with chicken which was not too sweet and paired well with the rice. Good place for quick lunch or dinner. Would like to try their other dishes next time!

No shortage of decent Thai places around and here's another! Food was fresh and came out quickly. Everything was good but generally not unique. I particularly enjoyed the flavor of the crab fried rice. The massaman curry was much runnier than most places. Reasonably priced and the shared lot is free if you can get a spot.

Brand new thai restaurant in the village! So new it's only been here a week and they still have the old restaurants name up. It says Ma Kitchen but the restaurant has changed to Mana Thai Kitchen sign coming soon per the owner. The interior is very nice with a large wine selection it appears. Right now they are previewing their soft open menu! I played it safe and ordered my usual basil fried rice! Service was fast but I was also the only one in there loool. Now the basil fried rice tasty! Not too greasy and the ingredients taste fresh. Not mu favorite of the bunch but i'd eat it again! Overall I like it! I want to try more things on the menu!

Solid Thai food in Rice Village! After recently pivoting to a Thai cuisine, Mana serves up some tasty traditional dishes. Favs included the khao soi noodles, tiger cry beef, and the crab fried rice. Overall a great addition to the Rice Village food scene!

Nice little place in rice village. It was their soft opening when we went. Service is good at the beginning but refilled waters were rare to nonexistent unless asked. Everything we ordered was medium and it felt super mild. And I can't do much to any spicy. So... order super hot if u want spicy. Everything was pretty good overall. Would return.

We had been here before and loved the food, so we decided to bring two guests with us for dinner. Unfortunately, our experience this time was disappointing. When we arrived, the waitress seated the four of us at a very small table. We politely asked if we could move to a larger table, but she refused, saying that the larger tables were reserved for parties of six. Throughout our meal, there were at least six empty large tables available. With four people sharing multiple dishes, the table quickly became overcrowded and uncomfortable. While the food was still excellent, we were unable to fully enjoy our dinner because of the cramped seating arrangement. We truly love the food here, but better attention to customer comfort would have made the experience much more enjoyable.

This was a relatively new Thai spot that opened in Rice Village, so I was curious to check it out. I got the chicken pad see ew which was pretty good, but the portions were smaller and pricey. The restaurant had really cool interior decor and our server was sweet

    Drunken noodles and basil duck

This is not your average Thai restaurant. Whoever is in the kitchen is putting out some special takes on things found on every Thai menu. Ever have bao buns in a Thai place? A pork version here was excellent. We are looking forward to the drunken noodles and the basil duck ( so crispy!) for lunch tomorrow

Chicken wings are very good. Short ribs good. Curry sauce delicious Service was Place was overall good. Would go back.

Very disappointing experience. The food did not match the menu description: the noodle soup was supposed to come with two proteins, but I received only one. When I pointed this out, the male owner responded rudely and told me to leave instead of addressing the problem. The female owner later refunded the extra charge, but the way this was handled was still unprofessional and unacceptable.

Corn salad the mimics papaya salad
    Dave S.

I don't know why this does not have a higher rating. I have nothing but positives. This food is delicious. I really like the papaya salad made with corn. Light and a unique twist. The short ribs remind me of Kao soi. All the textures and flavors were on point. Duck egg roll was ok, but probably not necessary with my meal. Glad I tried this place! I'll be back.

My wife and I recently made our decision to be active in trying new restaurants. As middle-aged but trying to be young at heart sometimes, it was habitually delayed many times so we usually end up in the same places when going out for our weekend lunch or dinner. Our first time here and it's definitely worth a second visit. We are looking to try a few more different dishes and order a few of the ones we tried today. My wife and I are bringing our young adult sons and their wife and girl friend for a try at a bigger variety for taste test To the review of Ma's Kitchen today 9/21/2025 1. Appetizer, golden chicken wings 7/5 stars, and yes it's two cuts above all the chiggen wings I have tried in any restaurant. A very very subtle sweet tamarind and garlic flavor perfectly fried and glazed....there was no flour so it went down not too heavy for fried wings. They were big and plump sized.. Keeper for next visit 2. Singapore noodles upgraded to shrimp protein was also excellent 5/5 . Would have preferred a bit more green onions but my palate on this may be abnormal for the greater population. A keeper as well 3. Roar and sear (tiger cry in other places) 2/5. Not worth $35 imo. Portion was small. Ordered med rare but came out close to well done. Not as tender bc it was over cooked. I like Osha on Westheimer much better. 4. Ma's short rib noodles: 5.5/5 stars. Fall off the bone tenderness. Flavorful light coconut cream curry . A keeper. I am very surprised that this restaurant was empty at lunchtime Saturday

There's a sign-in sheet. While we waited, we took a look at their two-aisle mini store, which is in the same room as the restaurant. We bought some interesting snacks and looked at the menus until we were messaged. Once we sat down, we shared fried tofu and chive cakes. They were amazing. The fried tofu was evenly crispy with a soft, piping-hot fluffy inside. (The sauce doesn't contain any fish sauce, since one of us was vegetarian.) The chive cakes were both crispy and mochi-like. I had the Thai iced tea and pompano fish. The staff scared us about the spice level, so we all started off with mild and a small variety of chili sauce, oil, and powder on the side. The ones who changed their minds to mild actually used them. So now we know that if you like medium spicy, go with the second-lowest level. I was fine with mild and ate my whole fish. Loved it. Our waitress was quick, but the kitchen... not so much. We all ended up eating at different times because we didn't want anyone's dishes to get too cold while waiting for the rest to come to the table. By the time my dish came, the first two main dishes were already finished (rice and noodle-based), and the third dish (curry) had already been at the table for a while. I also noticed another table that sat after us got all of their dishes (noodles and rice) before my dish came. The food timing needs some work. If you want a quick meal, I think their rice and noodles are the fastest. But the pompano fish was amazing. If you know how to debone a fish or eat one with bones, get this dish. There's free parking out front and in the grassy lot next to it.

My husband ordered his dish at a spice level 4 (their highest spice level), but felt it wasn't quite as spicy as expected, so keep that in mind if you like a lot of heat. The portions were very generous, and we definitely had leftovers. The kids' chicken fried rice was a huge portion and was surprisingly good. We also enjoyed the mango sticky rice for dessert--it was a great way to end the meal. The only disappointment was the Thai tea, which tasted a little weak compared to what we've had at other Thai restaurants. As for the entree, I ordered the Khao Soi with shrimp and my friend ordered the spicy red snapper. We tried their appetizers including Salmon Rolls (flavorfully packed with cream cheese, salmon, and spinach in a crispy shell and loving that actually spicy mayo on the side), Thai Style Jerky (deep fried and sun dried marinated pork and beef served with sticky rice rolls and side spicy tamarind sauce, a bit too dry/chewy), Fried Tofu (perfect little triangles, so good by itself or with the side sweet and sour sauce with crushed peanuts), Chive Pancake (deep fried and chive packed triangles with a slight chew to it, great by itself or with it's spicy soy sauce companion). As for the mains, the Spicy Seafood Fried Rice is a good value as it was loaded with all sort of fruits of the sea (shrimp, squid, and mussel), with prominent lemongrass and kaffir lime aroma, but a bit wet or moist for a fried rice dish, the Crabmeat Omelet is served with a nice portion of lump crabmeat where you can taste the flavor of the seafood and add sriracha to liking, and the Beef Pad See Ew is made appetizing with wok charred flat rice noodles along with a savory blend of soy sauce, Chinese broccoli and egg. The portion size is alright and filling for a moderately hungry individual, though it would've been even better a tad bigger for those coming in hangry. It could easily reach that level. Our waitress, Ann, was incredibly kind, soft spoken, and welcoming. My friend Sherita suggested this restaurant after we left a Yelp office hour, and I'm so glad she did because it introduced me to something I never knew I needed: the salmon mango fried rice. It was absolutely amazing. I originally planned to take some home for my son to try, but it was so delicious that I finished every bite in one sitting. Sherita had visited earlier in the week and tonight shared that she arrived; right before I walked in which was 30 minutes before closing time, Jackie told her to hurry up and order, even though she already knew exactly what she wanted and didn't even need a menu. Jackie response was unprofessional and didn't even wait till the table guest got to the table, which was less than seconds since we all arrive at the same time, and left the same place. During our visit, Jackie never brought us water. A couple who was seated after us received water before we did. It took over 10 minutes for us to get water. Ann took great care of us, but anytime we wanted a refill, we had to ask. At one point my glass was completely empty. I noticed Jackie refilling the water glasses for a table of six, so I managed to get his attention. He looked directly at me, scanned the room, then stomped away all fast without acknowledging my request. Instead, he told Ann that we wanted water, and she graciously brought it over. Even at the end of our meal, Jackie stood behind the register while my friends waited to pay, yet another employee ended up taking their payment. His overall energy felt very cold and unwelcoming. My friend even joked that it was probably for the best that he didn't refill my water because of the energy he was carrying. As someone who believes water absorbs energy, I honestly agreed. I'm grateful Ann was the one who served us with such kindness. The restaurant itself has such a peaceful, zen atmosphere. The greenery outside and the warm lighting inside create a cozy neighborhood spot that I truly want to love and revisit with my son. Thank you , Sherita for introducing me and Aaliyah to this hidden gem. I completely understand why you visited twice in one week. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu, and hopefully next time the hospitality matches the quality of the food.
