Just "graduated" from close to 9 months of physical therapy after a surgery. Went for treatment…read moreevery week, sometimes twice a week, from being immobile (after surgery) to now fully mobile with excellent range of motion, and knowledge of how to maintain the health of the muscles and bones, with correct exercise. It took some time but it is all worthwhile because it is for my health. Everyone in the office, from administrative staff to the therapists, was very friendly and helpful. All the therapists were knowledgeable and very patient. The massage that they did was crucial and helpful as part of the healing journey. I had experience in a couple of other places before I came to B&C, and B&C has been the best & would wholeheartedly recommend this facility.

The clinic has a small gym upfront with treatment tables in the back. Super convenient location in Alhambra with a 4-hr free parking garage. B&C PT is extremely popular and books out weeks in advance. I had to wait ~3-4 weeks for my initial appt, and had to book all my subsequent appts following my first visit to secure dates/times. I work primarily with Ching Ly (the C of B&C lol) and he's super down to earth. He did a comprehensive exam of my neck, measured my neck movements with a goniometer, and confirmed if it was a joint or muscle issue. I've seen several PTs, but no one was as thorough as Ching in trying to figure out the root cause. My treatment plan is pretty straightforward - Managing neck pain with manual therapy, at-home workouts, and then more workouts to strengthen neck, shoulder, and back muscles. If I had to nitpick then it would be the super tedious process of booking upcoming appointments with the front desk receptionist. Nothing PT related. Highly recommend B&C PT! I hope to be free of this annoying pain by the end of my sessions.

When he first attended he was 3yo and nonverbal, showing capacity for speech but not yet using any words. Prior to Teresa we had two other SLPs and the fit and match was never quite right (either with my son nor us as parents). Teresa has been phenomenal from the start - patient, calm, warm, engaging, and incredibly apt in her assessment and interventions with my son. He graduated from speech two months ago and the relationship he built with Teresa is so clear from his fondness of her. He has made tremendous progress, which is evident from going from nonverbal and using sounds to communicate to sentences, correct pronunciation, context, and ongoing conversation. Teresa is knowledgeable, sharp, and creative in the methods she utilizes to engage with my son. Additionally, Rosa (office staff extraordinaire) is so easy to work with and communicative. We have never had issues with scheduling, cancellations, and each visit she is so friendly that my son was disappointed if she wasn't there during a visit. All the staff are generally extremely friendly as we've had some one-off sessions with other providers over the years due to availability. For a very very brief period of time my son also had OT services but the OT therapist left the clinic and they have since stopped taking my insurance for OT. While we are extremely grateful and thankful that my son no longer meets criteria for speech services, we are sad and definitely miss the visits and relationship with Teresa and everyone at SGV speech. When we first started here, my son was speech delayed and no one understood the few words he did say. Mrs. Teresa was able to target his problem areas and gave my son the tools he needed to communicate clearly and effectively. Mrs. Teresa is kind, gentle, patient, stern when needed, and truly invested in my son's growth and progress. They worked hard together during sessions, and she always rewarded my son with play time at the end which he appreciated. She always pushed and challenged him -- every session the improvement was undeniable. My son is a better speaker, a more confident communicator, and is able to focus and apply himself so much more now. I have a daughter at a different clinic who has now seen several different therapists, and I truly don't think with them all combined they could do what Mrs. Teresa does. She is an expert in the field and my son and I were truly blessed to work with her! Shout out to Miss Rosa who runs a tight ship! She truly keeps everything running smoothly, handles everything from scheduling to billing to whatever else falls on her lap, and she always does it with a welcoming and warm smile. They were able to assist us quickly and efficiently and answered all the questions and concerns we had. They were also compassionate with my father as he is elderly and a little tough to deal with. It is what you expect when you go into a medical facility but don't always receive that type of care. At Reliant Urgent care in Montebello we did! Additionally, we felt safe and secure the entire time there. They followed proper social distancing guidelines and were cautious with the testing ; making us feel comfortable and safe. We can really see how much effort she puts into every session and how committed she is to helping our daughter improve and reach her goals. Because of our children's back-to-back therapy schedules, we usually prefer in-home therapy whenever possible. Romina only provides in-clinic sessions, so bringing our daughter to the clinic can sometimes be challenging for us. However, we truly value the quality of care Romina provides, so we always try our best to make it work. For us, it is absolutely worth the extra effort because we love the way Romina works with and supports our daughter. We're very grateful to have her as part of our daughter's therapy journey. We have been seeing Dr. Zhao for three years. We thought we had a good relationship with him but…read moretoday we see that this is only a business about making money. If you are being treated then it's all good. But the moment you need to talk through some concerns or need paperwork filled out, you are just an inconvenience. We were treated like crap and all the relationship building got tossed out the window because you just want to make money. These damn doctors forgot that we have to get by in this world too and I guess when you make six figures, it easy to forget where you came from. We had to talk to him about some important paperwork and he did not care enough to hear us out. Just remember this Dr. Zhao, your choices have consequences.

The other reviews echo my experience. Dr. Zhao seems hell bent on doing a very narrow selection of…read moreinjections that he seemingly does for all of his patients. When you have a hammer, all you see are nails to be hammered down. Dr. Zhao not only treats me as a pin cushion and justifies every aspect of pain that I have with injections and medicine that don't really help, he gets annoyed when you try to see if there are other options. Perhaps he is that way because he knows nothing else and treats everyone as if they all have the same condition. I ended up going to a different hospital affiliate and they immediately said that my condition, which is severe disc degeration, needed a different type of procedure that actually targets the source of the pain. That procedure at the other hospital immensely helped my pain, and this bothered me because I spent so much time putting my faith in Dr. Zhao who just kept doing the same stuff over and over and just wants me to magically get better. All in all, he appears to be very tunnel visioned when treating patients, and I think he thinks everything can be solved with an injection rather than actually figuring out the root cause.
