Love this place! Been coming here for a while now and decided to stop in for a late lunch last week. Veggie dumplings always hit the spot so we started out with those--Can't go wrong! I usually get the grilled shrimp pho but decided to switch it up and try the grilled shrimp platter which is another one of my personal favs--They did a great job it was yummy but could use maybe 2 more shrimp to make the dish more fulfilling; maybe advertise it as on add on if possible. The curry shrimp was also tasty, I don't think it had any sweet potatoes in it like the menu said and could've used less egg plant but overall was pretty good. So I was scrolling on TikTok came across someone that had Pho from a store in I believe West Philadelphia or somewhere far from me. But someone under the post commented that they enjoy coming to Main Street Pho so I decided to come to this location because this is close to me. You can go on their site and place the order for pick up. That was very convenient and easy. It's right on Main Street in manayunk so you already know the parking is not the greatest. I actually drove by the place. I had to circle back around and I got lucky and found parking. It's actually right across the street from Winnie's to be exact. It's a very small and quaint place and the gentleman at the counter was very nice and helpful. I got the brisket pho, eggplant with garlic sauce and shrimp, chicken wings and Vietnamese coffee. Overall, I was not impressed; disappointed in the lack of flavor. Their wings were with tamarind sauce and the sauce was not good so I did not use it so it left the wings very bland. All of the food really didn't have any flavor and Pho is supposed to have great flavor coming from the broth. Even the Vietnamese coffee was just OK. I've had better of all the above. I'm not sure if I will go back here. I'm a flavor person so that's what I would need to be sold. Maybe this is a bad batch day. read more

The vegetable spring rolls were my favorite thing I had there, I'd def get them again. I also got the spicy beef noodle soup, which wasn't really that spicy. It def could've used some more flavor, I had to get a side of chili oil. I liked these noodles better than pho noodles, but I will be back to try the pho. read more

This place is now my new go-to pho place. It's located right on Main Street in Manayunk. It's pretty small on the inside. I was able to snag a table for me and my stroller. The Vietnamese coffee was really delicious. It came out so strong and really the perfect temperature to sip on. The wait staff was very attentive. They made my baby and I feel very welcome especially by letting us move to a bigger table when a customer left since the stroller took up so much room. I ended up ordering the Bún bò Huế which is my go to when the weather is meh. I was a bit disappointed they didn't make it come out super spicy. The server gave me extra chili oil for the dish which kind of helped. They also included the beans, jalapenos, and lime with this dish. It was such a big portion that I ended up taking some home with me. They were so kind that they poured my soup for me in a bowl. They also brought me complementary macaroons which honestly made my day. I love those two guys that were working that day and I will be back there again for their legendary Bún bò Huế. read more

Stayed a friend's place nearby and went here for lunch. Small restaurant in a cozy downtown area. Tried their special pho and have no complaints. Pho was flavorful. All the meats and toppings were great as well. Would recommend coming here for those craving cozy soup days. read more

I was so engrossed in conversation with a new friend, I neglected to take a photo of my pho. So I'll tell you about it. The broth was weaker than my preference. But with a squirt of this, and two squirts of that, it improved significantly. I complain that many restaurants overload the bowl with noodles. To their credit, Main Street doesn't. And their grilled chicken was quite tasty. T and I shared a roast pork banh mi sandwich which was neither the best I've had, nor the worst. The roll was crisp, but fillings a little sparse. With all considered, I designate 3.43 stars to tonight's meal. Since I'm feeling magnanimous, I'll round up to four stars! When I return -- and I likely will -- I'll follow the lead of a fellow at the next table. One of the cheaper restaurant options in Manayunk. Free parking on Sun, but otherwise it's not too hard to find street parking all around. Pros: -got the 'special' pho - pretty standard, nothing really blew me a away -seating inside and outside -fast service Cons: -pricey for some basic Pho -3% credit card surcharge. Can avoid by paying cash or via Venmo. Kind of ridiculous in this day in age -wish it came with more meat Conclusion - if you really want Pho and you are in this area then I guess this is an ok option. Main Street Manayunk is looking great these days with terrific streetlife from end to end. Main Street Pho is one of the multitude of options. Outdoor seating for good weather days and a pleasant Asian vibe dining room for anytime. As a first timer I went with the basics-Grilled Chicken Pho, while my companions had beef pho and Grilled Pork Banh Mi Sandwich which they shared and gave me a taste. While the grilled side plate of chicken was quite good, particularly with a dip in the hoisin/sriracha mix, the broth was weak. It needed more time simmering in the pot with a whole lot more spices to bring the flavor up to par. A little lemongrass seasoning would have gone a long way. The Banh Mi was okay with pleasant grilled bbq flavor, but again light on the other ingredients (daikon, carrot, cilantro) that give these classic sandwiches the combination of taste and texture that make them famous. I've been on a Vietnamese cuisine kick of late, eating in about a half dozen over the past month. Sad to say, Main Street Pho falls on the lower end of my exploration due to lack of richness in the broth and a need for more substance in the Banh Mi. There is a lot more on the menu, so it is probable that there are some winners there, but first impressions being important, this house did not quite reach the standards I was hoping for. I was in the area and ended up here for convenience. It's a pretty decent place for pho and bun bo hue. Considering the location, I was surprised that the pho was pretty good. The bun bo hue was quite authentic, minus the blood cube and pork feet option. It isn't as spicy as other places, though. But overall, pretty good stuff. Price-wise, it is a lot higher than most other pho places. I honestly wouldn't come here as my first or second choice for pho or Vietnamese. We were exploring this area and after climbing up and down some Manayunk hills we needed a quick bite, I yelped some spots and decided to drive to this spot. Cute spot with a few tables outside, my SO asked for a outdoor seating and we were lucky enough to be seated almost immediately. I couldn't decide between the shaken beef and the spicy lemongrass chicken, the owner/server advised that the lemongrass chick was more popular, and my SO got the grilled chicken banh mi with mango bubble tea. Although my order came out a good 5-7 minutes before my SOs banh mi, the portion was large enough for both of us to share. Definitely a good spot to get a few bites. read more

Loved this spot! We came across this small, unassuming joint while walking in manayunk, and even at 4pm the place was almost full. The food service was quick and the food was so so delicious and flavorful, even with all vegetarian food (which is rare with pho!). The jasmine tea that we ordered was also so amazing. I saw this place on GrubHub and decided to try it out, and from the perspective of paying attention to and accommodating the order, the restaurant did great! I called ahead of time to ask about gluten-free options, and the person I spoke to was quite knowledgeable about it, which was a pleasant surprise (many Asian places aren't well-versed in gluten allergies). When the food came, I saw that everything was marked gluten-free as I had specified in the order. As much as I wanted to like this place due to the above, unfortunately the flavors weren't all there. Lemongrass pork didn't have soy sauce to be GF, but it was still missing something I couldn't fully place but wanted to taste. Spicy beef pho wasn't all that spicy and was a tad light on that pho flavor. Also unfortunate, though I get it happens - while eating the lemongrass pork, I found a hair in the food, which was disconcerting. Grilled chicken pho. That's literally all I have to say. They have been pretty consistent over the last year I have tried them. The broth is flavorful. The chicken is delicious grilled. I get extra hoisin and siracha for the kick but if you don't like spice then you really don't need it.It's perfectly good all on it's on. They also have some decent fried wings. I tend to get the salt and pepper seasoning. Even when I asked for more, it wasn't enough but you the flavor on the chicken is already good and the breading is light. My go to pho spot. read more

I would have thought the Pho would been good here considering the name of the joint but it was not. Why? Beef was over done, like bark... flavorless, tough, dry. The other strike against the pho was the broth. It was not developed enough; it seemed to lack depth, natural salts and fats. However, I can say that the accoutrements were fresh (greens, sprouts, lime) and the tendon was delicious. It had pieces of heavy collagen that both melted in your mouth, and also some pieces offered a firm texture, like biting into a caramel chocolate truffle. The tendon here was special, and made an impression on me... I wish I could find this kind of tendon experience at my favorite pho spots. The Summer rolls on the other hand were nice. We got the sampler: beef, chicken, shrimp and tofu. Of these we really liked the beef. It was seasoned very enjoyably. The others were good too. The best pho on Main Street! I know what you are thinking, it is the only pho on Main Street. Still, I've had a lot of pho in my life and it is very good here, even if just a bit smaller than average. Starting with the atmosphere, they seriously cleaned this place up. While it is a bit cozy, all signs that it used to be a quick cheesesteak place are long gone. I'm not sure if they take reservations, but if they do I recommend one as it seemed to fill up quick on both of my visits. Food quality is great. You can pick your protein in a variety of their offerings which is cool. The shrimp summer rolls were tasty and had plenty of shrimp. The beef pho had everything I was looking for and a good mix of flavors. I spiced it up a bit, but feel free to dig in as is. Service is still coming along. I don't think they expected to be so busy so quick. I'm sure they will work out those minor details and I look forward to watching them grow! read more

I ordered dinner tonight from Main Street Pho on Uber Eats. After my food was delivered, I opened the paper bag and inside the soup was in another paper bag, which was sopping wet and when I tried to take it out of the bag, I noticed that it was still dripping, and it had gotten everything in the bag wet, including the chicken, which was in a cardboard box which was also sopping wet! I had a mess. I contacted the restaurant. I had to speak to two different people who did not identify themselves and they refused to do anything! They told me that I had to call Uber Eats and what's worse, they tried to blame it on the driver, even though the bag was stapled closed, and the driver did not make the container that had a tear in it, which was why it was leaking all over everything. I then tried to call Uber Eats and good luck with that... I got transferred three times and then disconnected after I had repeated the story a total of five times . I think it's a disgrace that the restaurant refused to take any responsibility and make this right. I will never order from them again even though I have ordered from them many times in the past. This ruins the entire dining experience when you have to clean up a mess make five phone calls and try to send emails when Uber Eats hides their email addresses and their phone numbers. It is the restaurant's responsibility to make this right and then they can fight it out with Uber Eats, but I expect the restaurant to take responsibility because they're the ones that used a damaged container and then they had the nerve to blame it on the driver! read more

I was quite underwhelmed by the bahn mi I ordered here during the manayunk fair. The service was slow, even though there werent many patrons. We all ordered the traditional bahn mi, which should not have taken 40 minutes to prepare. When it did arrive, it was underwhelming, with barely any substance. Very skeptical of ordering soup from take out so even though Pho is there specialty opted for other menu items. Spring rolls were okay. Curry was slightly different than Indian/Thai flavor kind of more of a generic McCormick seasoning flavor. The Main Street Platter was a little lack luster in regards to flavor as the vermicelli only came with a side of rice wine vinegar.
