While the food was delicious here. I also appreciate the customer service. No owner remembered my name and my favorite dish.........

When you place an order delivery but it gets cancelled because their hours are misleading even Doordash was not aware they were closed.

I placed an order through Doordash and it was cancelled. Dashers time was waisted and he didn't even make the tip because the business is CLOSE. Its 10pm. It is misleading when here says you close at 12 midnight even Doordash thought your business was open to take orders. Doordash took my money and now I have to wait till it get's back to my bank account in 5-10 business days lol If you mislead customers it affects many. 2 stars because the food looks good in the pictures. I actually bitter didn't get to experience your dish.

Pasadena - Allied location. Prepared crunch wrap and it was a mess. More like a torn up wrap. If I knew how, I'd add the pictures.

The establishment was clean and spacious. Service though really stood out. Everyone was so welcoming and accommodating. I didn't even notice my cup had a chip but the server (ugh - I forgot to get his name) saw it quickly and switched it out. That is attention to detail that anyone else would have missed. I will definitely return!

That is the downside of this place: parking. It's in a center with a lot of great places so you may want to find street parking before coming in that's mostly what gave the star rating for this in addition to the food taking a while to get to the table. They bring out chips and salsa which was great since they will take a while to get your food. Other tables that would come in later would get their food sooner. I got the green chilaquiles thinking it would come out sooner but it was the very last thing to arrive. My partner got their food before mine and I still sat there as other tables for their chilaquiles first. It took about 20 min get our food. The chips and salsa they give table side are tasty. Don't eat too much of it esp if you get the chilaquiles since it's a lot of chips. The salsa is not spicy at all! My partner got the Birria omelette. It was pretty good but the egg itself was a bit overcooked. It was a strange combination but the Birria was tasty by itself. He would come back to try the meat in a taco. Could have used some sort of lighter element. Everything was too savory on the plate. The plate was screaming for something fresh on it. The cafe the olla was so good. A little on the sweet side but that is what is is. The chilaquiles were good too. I would say maybe add more salsa or get something else because it was way too much chips. This is def something you would share for the table a not got for yourself. I would come back to try something without chips. It's really cute inside. So well decorated but I can see how they can have a wait if it fills up since it got fully crowded while we waiting for the long wait to get out food.

YessVera's Tacos in Long Beach is hands down my go-to spot for tacos…read more I've been coming here for a few years now, and tacos are one of my top five favorite foods, so I'm pretty particular. I've tried almost everything on the menu, with maybe one or two meats left, and everything has been great. I've had the tacos, nachos, burritos, and even the horchata, and they always hit. The sauces though... OMG. That's really what takes it over the top. They're so good I've definitely taken an extra one or two home to use with breakfast the next day. My favorite meat is the asada, and I also really enjoy their potato tacos, which I almost forgot to mention. Super flavorful and always satisfying. Customer service is really nice, and even though they're usually pretty busy, you still get your food fairly fast for the amount of people there. Just a heads up, parking is super limited, so I definitely recommend calling ahead, placing your order, and then picking it up. It's a food truck setup at a market, so it's not really about ambience, but they do have some outdoor seating if you want to sit and eat. Vera's tacos is just a great little spot with consistently delicious food. Definitely one of the best taco spots in Long Beach. Flavor Profile (for reference): Umami-forward (savory, salty depth) Acidic or bright (tangy + sour) Pungent and intense (spicy and bitter notes) Drink Preference (for reference): Bitter-forward cocktails Balanced acidity Light sweetness only, not overly sugary

Dependent on the time you go, it can be tricky to get in and out of the parking lot. It's sort of a one-way in and one way out situation. I've had their tacos, nachos, burrito, bowls, and tacos dorados of papa (potato). I have no complaints about any of these. My favorite meat go to are their Carnitas and chicken. When I ordered the burrito bowl, I usually ask for a half steak half chicken. The taco dorados are a hit with my family as an appetizer or l I'll order a couple orders for family gatherings. Very tasty! They also have a veggie and salsa bar outside of the truck, which is very helpful to take radishes, limes, cilantro, and onion. They sometimes have pickled onions as well. There's salsa especially the orange one is so fire. I usually go inside the bodega to get a full-size one for my house. The green salsa which is made with avocado is really good too. The cashier is on point with your order and the cooks do the best I can with turning around food. Depending on the time, you can wait about 15 -20 minutes sometimes. They also have a few table tables that are covered with a tarp for shade where you can sit and eat as well.

We asked if they had any plant-based or vegan options. They only sold burgers however the lady that helped us was very sweet, polite, and kind. She told what they had and what we could order inside instead. We walked in and the gentleman named Oscar G. cashed us out. He was also very friendly! Very professional and knowledgeable about the menu and non-dairy items. Provided us with what we needed right away, the container for the salsa and brought out fresh ones for me. Very nice guy. The food came out right away. The portions were big in my opinion. The prices were decent, the portion was great, and best of all the service was good. Their self-serve condiments was a PLUS! I've been to a lot of taco spots and these were by far the freshest and crispiest cucumbers, fresh cold salsa, onions and cilantro was also fresh. The food was good and filled us up. It was simple but fulfilling. Will definitely be back and highly recommend it. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor seats as well.

I ordered the asada, carnitas, al pastor, tripas, cabeza, and lengua. The asada was tender with a nice grilled flavor, but my favorites were definitely the tripas and cabeza. Both were a little greasy, but in a good way--they had a lot of flavor and were probably the standouts of the meal for me. One thing I liked was the condiment bar. You can load up your tacos with as much onion and cilantro as you want, plus they have radishes and lime wedges available. They also offer two salsas, a red and a green. Both tasted good and had solid flavor, although I was hoping for a little more heat. Overall, it's a solid taco spot, especially on Taco Tuesday. Good variety of meats, reasonable prices, and plenty of toppings to customize your tacos. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area and craving some tacos.

Hola amigos, today's adventure brought me to Long Beach Ca…read more Los Compadres is NOT you ordinary run of the mill Mexican restaurant, no sir, do not dare to place this restaurant with thoes, how dare you sir I've always said, Mexican food is poor food, it all the same meat, veggies, cheese and tortilla. If you can afford a steak, you eat the steak, if not cut that one steak and make burritos not much meat, make tacos, less meat, make flautas/taqueros, less than that quesadillas with some meat. You get what i mean. But this high end Mexican restaurant made me a liar! This high end Mexican restaurant doesn't make poor food, this place make food for kings! Every dish is savory every order id above and beyond, to even sit in this wonderful place you feel the like this is what the rich must eat in Mexico, no my friend this is elegance the service is as if your a celebrity and they are working had to keep your business. When you come, and I hope you do, come with respect because the food earned it. The ambiance: Walking in decore, the furniture make you feel like a wealthy rancher like Kevin Costner will walk in at any time. Packed almost always. The food: beyond description but I will try. When ever you see café dela hoja, order it! If you like cinnamon this is coffee made at its best, no sugar or creamer needed, wonderful magical brood to have you sit and see the world around you better, brighter, sweeter. I has chorizo and eggs and a flank steak. Better then mama's.

First, we asked for a spicier salsa, and we were told that it could only be served with our meal. What's the point of getting the salsa with the meal when we wanted to enjoy it with our chips beforehand? They also used to offer free horchata refills, but apparently that is no longer the case. Unfortunately, they also got our food order wrong. We specifically ordered beef enchiladas, and my husband repeated the order three times, yet we received shrimp enchiladas instead. Overall, the experience just isn't what it used to be. It feels like they are nickel-and-diming customers for everything, even something as simple as salsa or a horchata refill. I understand they are renovating the front of the building, and perhaps the cost of the renovations is contributing to these changes, but the customers shouldn't feel the impact of that. The staff at the front may look nice and presentable, but unfortunately, the overall service doesn't feel as customer-focused as it once did. At this point, I would recommend looking for another restaurant where the service and hospitality are more consistent and where you don't feel like you're being charged for every little thing.
