It was lively at Steelcraft with the soccer game playing on the 2 large screens. We stopped by for some takeout and were a bit bummed that the menu had changed. They no longer have the Tacos Del Mar combo, which included a variety of four fish tacos. We decided to try the Carne Asada taco, Birria Taco, and the Chicharron de Pescado. The tacos are small and ranged in price from $3 to the fish taco at $6. The Birria was our least favorite. It lacked flavor and my husband wished it had cheese and more sauce. The fish was probably the best out of the three. Service was just ok. Overall, definitely not the place it use to be. We won't be back.

La Taqueria is one of several food options in this outdoor venue. We checked out the Pastor Burrito, Birria Taco and Shrimp Taco. The Burrito was huge and packed with meat! The Birria taco was small but packed and delish. I love the sauce they give you. The shrimp taco is bigger and messier but equally good. Fresh cilantro. BTW ample parking on a Wednesday. Water fountain on site for refilling your water bottles.

Nachos is the way to go and their meats are delicious. Located inside steel craft, is the hidden spot of good food, thanks to Yissel and the staff for the recommendation and there is a line for food. So it must be good. Service and ambience is top notch; thanks u!

First time trying the food and everything was so good. Yaya was super patient when I was being indecisive so shout out to her. We got the asada tacos, an al pastor burrito and a chorizo taco. It was all delicious and we'll definitely be back. Love that they have vegetarian options as well! Great little patio too so you can watch the World Cup in a super chill environment.

I enjoyed my birria taco and my al pastor taco but wasn't the biggest fan of the baja fish taco. The salsas were delicious! Service was kind, Sergio was great. I liked the location, the outdoor tables, and the whole vibe.

I enjoy going to Steelcraft venues because there's usually something for everyone. I got food to go and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavor of the food. We got a birria quesadilla, a burrito Al Pastor and esquite. The quesadilla was full of lean, tasty birria and cheese. It comes with guacamole and sour cream. The burrito was well constructed. The meat, beans and rice were nicely balanced. This burrito was so good. All of the salsas are good. The darker red one is the best. The esquite was delicious. The corn, the lime, the cheese and the mayonnaise made for a taste sensation. I could eat this all day long. The service was top-notch. Shout out to Stacy M. They sell housemade Michelada mix. Smog City brewing is right next door and you can get a Michelada with the La Taqueria Brand mix. The patio is dog friendly. There's lots of shady seating outside and parking nearby.

Fresh, satisfy and vegetarian friendly! So happy to find a taqueria that offers. Not one but three different choices of plant protein and they're all delicious. My favorite is the pineapple marinated "al pastor." The casual seating space of steelcraft makes it a double win.

The service here has been great! The staff is kind and patient and goes through any item you are curious about with much detail. The variety of aguas frescas and breakfast meals provides many good options to choose from. The location has a fresh vibe and the people are friendly all around.

I stopped by on a Friday afternoon and waited about 20 minutes for a table. The wait was well worth it because each dish offered an explosion of flavors. My favorite dish was the birria, with the salmon ceviche as a close second. The mole was great too, but I'd say the other two dishes were more memorable and something I'd return for. I can't recommend the birria enough, as the flavors were reminiscent of what I've had in Mexico, very authentic. The space is small and can feel a bit tight, but sometimes the best food comes from these types of "hole in the wall" places. Ultimately, I'd say give Lola's a try! The soup here lacks the tastebud awakening zip that Don Chato's has. The ono fish taco experience was my fault... I hate fried fish taco, so I had lofty expectations, but due to the fact that I do not prefer corn tortillas, guacamole or raw onions, led to much disappointment since It has all three. Totally my fault. The butternut enchilada was lacking in the expected savoriness... this is being polite. The potato taquito was okay... but I am not a taquito person, so if you are I would seriously encourage you to try it. The star of the table was the Mexican corn. It may not compete with Cornman in Lincoln Heights, but it was decent. I scraped off the onions and toppings on the ono tacos, put the fish on the flour tortillas that another person didn't want, and topped the fish with refried beans, street corn and a but if the chicken tortilla soup broth to make due. When you are driving more than 30 minutes for this experience, I think you would agree that it was less that a proper way to celebrate a birthday. Oh and if there isn't any street parking. It'll cost you about 9 bucks in the lot. I didn't use the restroom, so I cant review its cleanliness. Our waitress was flawless taking orders and delivering food The restaurant itself has a great layout and an outdoor courtyard complete with propane heaters and umbrellas - I loved that... but my favorite part was out front, no not the seating area in the former parking spaces, nope... it was the collapsed woman on the sidewalk, walking her dog with snot running out of her nose because she was huffing some aerosol can of whatever. This truly set the mood upon arrival. Two stars for being close to a lot of other food choices to visit afterward.

In addition to all those basic menu items they have some stellar creations. I opted for the carne asada plate - simple and not spicy. Hubby ordered the Carne en su Jugo- very spicy with tomatillo broth and serranos, cilantro, bacon and onions. Both of our entrees came with bean soup and tortillas. The chips/ salsa starter was addictive. Huge basket of fresh warm chips, and a salsa like no other! Chunks of veggies and just the right spice. It was hard to get those chunks on the chips but it was delicious. My carne asada was tasty, a large portion with grilled scallion and rice. I wish some of the "bean soup" had been pureed to be a bit thicker but the broth was good, with a variety of beans. Hubby's dish had an interesting flavor, very spicy. He wished the broth had some rice, though, to accompany it. We could come back weekly to try many more entrees. Their salads sound tasty, too. Service was great.

It was open seating when we arrived which majority of the tables was taken where all the television were. Of course it was rain delayed so more time to enjoy food and drinks. Also it was happy hour and taco Tuesday all at the same time. As the game was happening, one of the tequila sponsors was there offering deals. Shot and a jersey. Tony took care of us that night and he was amazing. Made sure that we got everything we needed. Very sweet as well. Happy hour menu offered a good amount of items for a great deal. As well as draft beer and cocktails. Regular menu is great as well which we've had before. Food, an order of the tostada both with shrimp and aguachili. Served with two small tostada and handful of crevice on top. Both were quite tasty and very well flavored in the juice. Also two of the street tacos with birria. They were quite small but did have a major punch of flavor to it. And well priced at 2.50 a piece. Of course the crinkle cut loaded fries with added carne asada. Seemed like it was a popular item as every table had it. It was good but a little skimpy with the topping. Lastly the chicken wings, lemon pepper flavor. Six piece tossed in the sauce. It was good but way too salty for my liking. We still enjoyed everything we had. As we got the shot with the jersey earlier, the person who was affiliated with the sponsor brand was walking around with more shot. I must say, it does hit the spot big time...lol... The crowd was lively with everyone all there for the same reason. The game and good company. First time for happy hour and it was nice. We had a great time and everyone working was the sweetest. The tomato salsa that came with the chips was also very refreshing. We asked for hot sauce too and the house habanero salsa really packed a punch! We ordered carne asada nachos, pork belly chilaquiles (from the brunch menu), a breakfast burrito, poke, and steamed clams. The steamed clams came in a rich tomato broth and the breakfast burrito was massive. The poke was just okay and the chilaquiles a bit too soggy for me, and the carne asada nachos a bit dry. Nonetheless, presentation and portion sizes were respectable. The last comment is that food here is quite pricey but that reflects the likely high rent of a restaurant in 2nd and PCH.
