    Burrito

We went on a Saturday afternoon and the place was pretty empty when we got there. We ordered the loaded fries with mushrooms, taco plate with asada and mushrooms, elote, an asada burrito, and chips and guac. Since it was slow, we did have to call the server from the back a few times. Once more people started coming in, she became much more attentive. Food-wise, the only real complaint was the lack of seasoning in the guac. I had to add salt to pretty much everything except the burrito. That said, the asada was seasoned really well with a nice crisp to it -- very delicious. I'd honestly get the asada on everything. The staff mentioned it's made in-house, and you can tell. It's a small restaurant, but overall solid, especially if you're an asada fan.

This was my first time trying PlanTita's so I ordered four tacos & a burrito to go... that way I could try one of each protein. Asada and Al Pastor were by far my favorites so those are the two proteins I'd get if I go again. My boyfriend got the burrito which was delicious too, but mainly rice and beans. Yay for a vegan Mexican options with a variety of protein choices. I really wanted to try their horchata but they were freshly out & I didn't have time to wait for the new batch. Parking was extremely limited but maybe there's parking in the neighborhood. All staff were kind and positive. Plenty of indoor seating available. I like that you could see into the kitchen!

I have been meaning to try this place for some time since it's so close by to where i live. I can honestly say that exploring Vegan restaurants has been an eye opening experience. There are so many different ways to be creative with flavors and the best part of it is how beneficial it can be when impacting your health! The flavors were great, server was attentive as well! I would definitely come back to try more items on the menu! I came by for a quick lunch with my boyfriend and had the best time. He has missed eating seafood and to have something similar to aguachiles that didn't impact his health was perfect! The ambiance felt very cozy and i love the decor! Give this place a try if you ever come across it!

As PlanTita as it gets! This extra delish treasure-like restaurante in the city of Long Beach, off Willow Street is crazy amazing. It's savory with a hint of sweet (Churros on their dessert menu). It's all dine inside, but they clearly do great takeout and delivery as we noted a handful of orders being picked up as well as more people coming in to feast. I knew of P.K. since they opened their doors in 2023, but rarely get to the LBC, except for more recently on trips down, usually with my dinner date. We glanced at their menu online, but got the hard copy of all their offerings including tacos, burritos, plates, starters, plus todo los bebidas on the back of the menu. Beverages on beverages! Beer, Cocktails, Horchata, Soda and my personal favorite, Wine!! When I saw the bottles on display on their gorgeous counter top and beautiful decor #AllAreWelcome I knew this place was gonna be an instant favorite. But let me tell you the food was 12/10, my flauta plate which was going to be the enmoladas (will have them next time), was so rich, cheesy and decadent. Like what magic sauce blended with jackfruit carnitas did I just enjoy? Asking for a friend Novio has their awesome Asada Burrito and we shared a little with each other. 11/10, it was big, beautiful and not heavy. Their chipotle mayo and house made salsa really elevated his meal. Our server was fun, thoughtful and attentive. She had great tips and recommends including on my flauta plate mix up being the best/one of her personal favorites. We definitely noted a few things for our next trip including the elote fried ribs as well as the queso loaded fries (or nachos, or both). Parking is limited in a very very tiny lot, but there's street parking close by off Hayes Ave/Willow St, not to mention on Willow and neighboring blocks Plantita has great decor. Love the flowers, plants on tables, Frida pics, pride flag, Ofrenda like shelving and fun stuff on display. Restroom is easy, super clean and for all. Music was very upbeat, millennial core on a weekend night, yes please! Though it did feel a little elevated for such a great place that has more of a mellow mood, but no complaints. The staff is so thoughtful. The chef's know what their doing and do it super well. We didn't want to overdue it on our first time in (because their will be a 2nd and 3rd), but hoping to try a lot more soon. Make PlanTita Kitchen your next meal :) Será surrealista!

It's hard to make VEGAN tacos taste remotely delicious and this place knows how to do it. I really thoroughly enjoyed my tacos. I ordered the Al pastor, asada and carnitas. The flavors were great. I wish I would have thought about getting guacamole on them, but now I know for next time. The salsa was magnificent. Service was friendly. I appreciated the recommendations. Quant place, high ceilings make it feel more spacious. I'll definitely be back.

I am a ten year vegetarian and when I tell you that this is the best plant based Mexican food I've ever had I mean it. It was me and my friend's first time here, but it wasn't very long until we felt at home as the staff was super nice and welcoming and the restaurant itself is very homey. The waitress let us know how the food is rooted in their grandma's home recipes and we soon found out that abuela was not messing around. We started out with the elote ribs, the corn is so sweet yet savory with all the added spices. Then came the main course, carnitas tacos, beans and rice for me, while my friends got the burrito and the loaded fries. I've eaten a lot of meat substitutes over my tenure being vegetarian, but this is the most realistic tasting carnitas I've ever had. I had 15 years of meat eating experience beforehand, so my judgement is fair. Also I must give a special shoutout to the side of beans that came with my taco plate. They were AMAZING. The little meat crumbles mixed in were delicious. My mouth is literally watering while writing this part of the review. My friends enjoyed their dinner as well and unfortunately because of that there was absolutely no room for dessert. I was able to snag a couple bites of the burrito and it was just as tasty as my tacos. The guacamole on the loaded fries was top tier too. Do y'all see that color???? My experience at Plantita's was amazing and I will definitely be back. I recommend this as a vegan place to bring meat eaters to. The food is that good that it can satisfy both meat eaters and plant based people.

Came here three times now and had varying experiences that were overall positive. The first time, we were nearly the only guests dining for a long while with maybe another party coming in near the end of our meal. Our second time here, the place was packed! Service was slower on our second visit which was understandable considering how busy they were. But staff was apologetic for the wait, always friendly, and in good spirits. Service was speedy-quick on my last visit. What really convinced me to give PlanTita's Kitchen 5-stars was a thoughtful interaction with our waitress. She approached our table and noticed I was experiencing a sensitive moment in mid-conversation. She offered to give us a minute, then quietly placed a napkin near me for my tears. How sweet! :) The food here is excellent! Great presentation too! Elote Fried "Ribs" are a must-have! It's sprinkled with spicy seasoning with a chipotle mayo drizzled on top. OMG so good! https://bit.ly/3SqDUYk Aguachile is also good. This mix of diced vegan shrimp, cucumber, onions, and pineapple marinating in juices is light and refreshing. I enjoyed the hot-out-of-the-fryer tostadas too. https://yelp.to/YzUpjY5qJe I've never had anything like the Enmolada Plate before, and I'm glad to report, I liked it! These potato and cheese enchiladas are smothered with red mole sauce. It comes with a side of rice and beans. https://bit.ly/3SUHiuy Meateater Hubby ordered a burrito though I forget what protein he had. Most likely the Al Pastor. I thought it was solid. I luv me a good vegan burrito. https://bit.ly/4kgMiFZ The Taco Plate which also comes with rice and beans. Per the recommendation of the waitress, I ordered an Asada taco and WOW, SO GOOD! I also had the Mushroom Al Ajillo taco. Yum! https://bit.ly/3FDo09U The Eggs Benedict on the brunch menu is totally worth getting here before they stop serving brunch at 3pm. It's a mountain of beans, JustEgg, avocado, and chipotle mayo on an English muffin. Yes please! https://bit.ly/3Zyz52U Even a simple side of Tater Tots were addicting. Crunchy outer texture, fluffy tender interior, and seasoned with salt and pepper. Lastly, they make a tasty Horchata! https://yelp.to/QuTuibKiwG Love the vibe here. Yellow/orange painted walls, flowers for the decor, and a decent-sized dining room. The parking lot is small, but street parking in the residential area is easy. Great vegan spot in West Long Beach!

I came earlier around when it opened and another table went in early as well. It wasn't super crowded and it's run by the owner/chef and a helper that helps with waitressing and some stuff in the kitchen. Everyone was super friendly and the chef came to check in on our table. It seems a lot of the dishes have the same 2 sauces but they are bomb! They also have a brunch menu too. We tried their corn ribs which were so tasty and fresh. The breakfast burrito was very satisfying as well. The vegan horchata was one of the best I've ever had. I can feel the love in the food. Definitely worth a try. There is a small parking lot and also street parking around.

They have tripe that is crispy with corn nut texture. Cabeza (face meat) has a stewed texture. Unlike most places in LB, there is two hours free parking conveniently located across the street at the Harvey Milk Community Lot. We ordered caramelos with the poblanos inside, as well as their horchata. Tortillas are some of the best I've had. Super soft and flavorful from the grill. The fillings and salsa were good too, but it was really wet, and the bean ratio especially compared to the meat, was a little off. Always am going to want more meat. Horchata was unique since it was coconut based. Overall solid spot with patient staff. Tacos La Rueda is still better, but will be back when in Long Beach.

I stopped by on a Friday afternoon and waited about 20 minutes for a table. The wait was well worth it because each dish offered an explosion of flavors. My favorite dish was the birria, with the salmon ceviche as a close second. The mole was great too, but I'd say the other two dishes were more memorable and something I'd return for. I can't recommend the birria enough, as the flavors were reminiscent of what I've had in Mexico, very authentic. The space is small and can feel a bit tight, but sometimes the best food comes from these types of "hole in the wall" places. Ultimately, I'd say give Lola's a try! The soup here lacks the tastebud awakening zip that Don Chato's has. The ono fish taco experience was my fault... I hate fried fish taco, so I had lofty expectations, but due to the fact that I do not prefer corn tortillas, guacamole or raw onions, led to much disappointment since It has all three. Totally my fault. The butternut enchilada was lacking in the expected savoriness... this is being polite. The potato taquito was okay... but I am not a taquito person, so if you are I would seriously encourage you to try it. The star of the table was the Mexican corn. It may not compete with Cornman in Lincoln Heights, but it was decent. It was open seating when we arrived which majority of the tables was taken where all the television were. The main dining area had a television set up but main bar area was where the action was taking place. We got lucky as there was a table available along the wall with perfect view of the game. Of course it was rain delayed so more time to enjoy food and drinks. Also it was happy hour and taco Tuesday all at the same time. As the game was happening, one of the tequila sponsors was there offering deals. Shot and a jersey. Tony took care of us that night and he was amazing. Made sure that we got everything we needed. Very sweet as well. Happy hour menu offered a good amount of items for a great deal. As well as draft beer and cocktails. Regular menu is great as well which we've had before. Food, an order of the tostada both with shrimp and aguachili. Served with two small tostada and handful of crevice on top. Both were quite tasty and very well flavored in the juice. Also two of the street tacos with birria. They were quite small but did have a major punch of flavor to it. And well priced at 2.50 a piece. Of course the crinkle cut loaded fries with added carne asada. Seemed like it was a popular item as every table had it. It was good but a little skimpy with the topping. Lastly the chicken wings, lemon pepper flavor. Six piece tossed in the sauce. It was good but way too salty for my liking. We still enjoyed everything we had. As we got the shot with the jersey earlier, the person who was affiliated with the sponsor brand was walking around with more shot. I must say, it does hit the spot big time...lol... By the end of the game, I was high-fiving with people that I considered strangers to me when the day started. Just a fun, lively vibe here on the weekend evenings with delicious food and beverages.

We decided to grab lunch at 2nd and PCH after going to the Sunday Farmer's Market, and decided to…read morefinally check out Ola. Palapa next door offers the same food menu but has more drink options. Many opted for outdoor seating on the terrace due to the gorgeous views, but not wanting to wait we agreed to indoor seating. The interior of the restaurant is also very beautiful. The bathrooms were too dark for my tastes though. Our waitress was absolutely phenomenal, super friendly and anticipating all of our needs (water refills, leftover containers, etc.). Service overall by all staff was friendly. We were actually presently surprised with the taste of the food, thinking it might be more Americanized but they actually had very authentic and tasty totopos (tortilla chips). The tomato salsa that came with the chips was also very refreshing. We asked for hot sauce too and the house habanero salsa really packed a punch! We ordered carne asada nachos, pork belly chilaquiles (from the brunch menu), a breakfast burrito, poke, and steamed clams. The steamed clams came in a rich tomato broth and the breakfast burrito was massive. The poke was just okay and the chilaquiles a bit too soggy for me, and the carne asada nachos a bit dry. Nonetheless, presentation and portion sizes were respectable. The last comment is that food here is quite pricey but that reflects the likely high rent of a restaurant in 2nd and PCH. Ola still exceeded expectations and provided a more than pleasant meal.

Great location, shoreline village. View of the boats, relaxing and on a Sunday, it's hard to beat…read morethe atmosphere. So I ordered a Bloody Mary and their Version is extremely sweet. So I had to return it . I the ordered a Coronita Margarita and that is/was tasty. They do have many different offerings of tequilas. And honestly fairly priced. I started with the Fondido de queso basically a Chorizo fondue. It was very good, only the chips were stale. Not all the chips so just so you know, I ordered the chicken mole enchiladas. The service has been very accommodating. The flavor from the mole was perfect, smooth rich a touch of heat and chocolate. Very flavorful and with the sides of black beans and rice, a tasty pairing. There is side of sweet corn , completing the plate. Great dish. I arrived at 1130 which apparently was the best time. By noon the place was packed and jumping. TVs for the games and plenty of room, so not so crowded despite the amount of people. Great place for a date , or family/friends gathering.

What an awful Tourist Trap. This is a place that once you come one, you will never return - and…read more the level of service and quality of food reflects that management knowledge. First interaction: They advertise a Happy Hour on M-F from 5-6 PM We had this interaction with a server in the bar. "Can we get an order in before Happy Hour is up?" Server "Of course. (Looking at phone the time on their phone). What would you like?" We order. Drinks are brought over along with the check for full price drinks. Me "Can you please fix this check? It's not 6 yet and you are still on Happy Hour, that's why we rushed over." Server "Oh yeah, today we don't have Happy Hour so there is no discount." Me "What so you mean, we ordered these drinks on Happy Hour and now you are telling us there is no Happy Hour as advertised." Server: "Well, we don't do Happy Hour when there is an event in the area, so they are full price." Second interaction (after waiting 45 minutes for a table in the restaurant). We ordered the "made to order table side guac" for 15.50 for an appetizer. About 10 minutes later, a guac is delivered to the table that was either run through a blender or was taken from a tub with a spoonful of pico mixed in. So much for the advertised table side experience or fresh avocado. The guac we buy at Trader Joe's and from Costco are way better. Third Interaction when ordering an entree. I order enchiladas and they have red or green sauce. I ask, Can I get both red sauce on one and green sauce on the other? Response, "well there's an extra charge for that". Besides being lied to about "Happy Hour" and about the "Table-side" Guac and them being told a basic request is going to cost extra, it's is c extremely clear that this place has no respect for their customers and no expectation that anyone will return. I know the 6 local people in our group will never return.
