update! this time I bought a Subaru from mark, great decision overall, would buy another subaru , luckily (knocks on head) I don't need too right now! I knew when I saw the Impreza on their lot i knew it was destiny, where I went wrong is trying to buy something else somewhere else, namely fb marketplace. I know this isn't about that , but I will say I used MAS to do a ppi on a complete POS from marketplace and saved me a bunch of money . I mean, anyone with a brain should get a pre purchase inspection, but that's not what this is about, although they do it fyi. so its been about 3 months and 1500 or so miles and nothing egregious with the car. sure some heat shield rattles and whatnot, but hey, its a subaru! no leaks, no strange smoking, nada. looking forward to the first oil change and making it through the winter, but just wanted to pop on here and give him an update, thanks again for the excellent service and walk through, see you soon MAS!! read more

Sold our daughter a lemon. The car should not have been sold to NO ONE. So many repairs needed. Underneath the hood is completed rusted and rotted. Not safe to drive. Head gaskets, catalytic converters, brake line, timing belt, oil spills everywhere, and the frame of the car all needs to be replaced. She brought this car for $5999, saved her own money up. How can you morally sell a unsafe car. I am happy nothing happened to my child while driving that car. We thought he was a decent person with morals but turns out he is just a fast-talking salesman. We put in a compliant with the BBB- hopefully they will shut this place down at the very least. read more

Listen to the one star reviews - please! Sold us a vehicle that needed repairs from the get go, then on day 31 a cylinder blew. He has zero integrity and washes his hands of his lemons immediately. Tried to work something out as we paid 6k for the car, he doesn't care at all. Save yourself the money and misery, don't risk it please! After reading many reviews, I can see that I am not the only customer who had felt that they were ripped off by this dealership. Upon seeing this business with an A rating on the Better Business Bureau, words cannot express how "stunned" I am that they have a rating that is anything but deserved. Sadly, I have not reported them to the Better Business Bureau and now it's too late for me; however if you feel the need to warn others of these poor business practices, so that they don't become prey to being scammed by this place, filing a complaint via bbb.org just might be the route to go. I have had my car two years and it's been a struggle pin-pointing the issue that is tripping the check engine light (which has been on-off and on- since the first week or so of purchase). If it wasn't for the distance, I might have considered contacting the place and informing them of the issue - but judging by some of the posts, it doesn't sound like this dealership would have fixed it anyways. In the meantime, for those of you who have been recently scammed or at least feel like you were, I truly hope you find some closure and that the car issues you might be experiencing can be fixed without costing you too much $$$! read more

Look - MAS sells cars at a budget price enabling people with very little money to spend. That is the bottom line. Period. Don, the owner, is not a man looking to rip you off. I bought an '04 Subaru Outback with 94,XXX miles for $1700 under NADA value from Don. Being a former mechanic right out of high school and now an Ivy League physicist, I, asked Don to put the vehicle on the lift. I know Subaru had a widely spread head gasket problem and I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to have to invest $1500 into a new head gasket, water pump, and timing belt on prematurely. We identified broken rear sway bar links and because the front pads were less than 50% worn, he replaced them. He then changed the oil. Lastly, he brought my car through emissions. After a couple days on the road, my heat would go cold while set to hot. Also, at long stops, the temp needle went into the red. I called Don, and he said, "Bring it right over." His first assumption was correct. The coolant had an air bubble and needed to be "burped." Since then, no problems. Again, you have to realize that Don probably absorbs a lot of undeserved crap from customers. These cars are NOT brand new. Don provide service to people who don't want to invest a lot of $ into a car, or simply can't spend a lot of $ on a vehicle. From 1998-2002 I worked at the nation's largest auto repair shop. I know a dishonest crook when I see one. That is not Don. He comes across perhaps as a bit high strung and flustered, but that's his demeanor. Underneath, he cares about his customers. Ask him about "David, the MIT guy" where I received my Ph.D's in Theoretical Physics and Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering. Yes, I'm anal and picky; and Don will concur and vouch. Bought a car here not to long ago. Not sure what all the bad reviews are about, my experience here was top notch. I got a reasonable car at a reasonable price. My advice to people is check out the car yourself and do your research, after all you are buying a used vehicle. A 3000-5000$ car is what it is. What do you think your going to get at that price? A Ferrari? I have driven my car all over the country and it's been nothing but great. If your looking to buy a car and not spend a lot of money definitely stop by and check this place out. read more

2nd scheduled test drive was also disappointing. I showed up on schedule and had to wait at least one hour while the owner waited for a bottle of Lucas oil treatment to add to the engine oil. Not sure why anyone would add treatment if there are no engine issues. The Test drive went OK, engine was loud, maybe that was the reason for the additive. Ended up buying a car elsewhere. read more

Unfortunately I dont think the owners care about bad reviews as their scum ,but to avoid further unsuspecting fromcustomers purchasing a car from this place it must be stated, DO NOT BUY A CAR UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT! I was a supposed "friend" and these guys not only didnt stand behind the vehicle sold but knew that the was major damage to the rear wheel bearing and sold it that way anyways. My kid could of died in this car with the condition it was in when sold. I trusted my "friend" and will let everyone I know and come in contact with in going forward NOT to do business with Don "Bucky" Smith of Andover CT I'll be pursuing a claim with DMV and Civil Court on this one, not to mention Better Business Bureau. This place is horrible Don is a scam artist he sells messed up cars and once you buy and sign the paperwork's after that the car shows up with all these problems and he stops answering phone calls, doesn't come in when he's supposed to come in. He sold me a lemon and I spent a large amount of money needing to buy pretty much everything to fix it up since he did everything but the book since he's a scam artist I couldn't do anything about it and ended up getting screwed over unfortunately but since I didn't have the chance to run from this horrible mistake I am sharing my experience to warn you RUN there are many other dealerships with honest people who really want to sell you a good car go anywhere else but here save your money and time! read more

This has been the worst experience ever purchasing a car from this dealer...aka Don Smith ...no relation even though he said we are like family. Bought a 2006 Subaru Forester Turbo in the end of January. It had a check engine light on and an oil leak. Being acquaintances I signed the 30 day warranty and Bucky/Don said he would fix it. Gave him the car back approximately a month later ..He told me it was all fixed and go get the car (it took 6 days to get it back.) With an oil leak and check engine light on. He said to give him the car back which I did the 2nd week of April. Now he claims there was no oil in the engine. He promised me he would take care of this matter, so I gave him the car back at the end of July and the 2nd week of September it is dropped off at my house with a blown engine. Called him only to be sworn at and hung up on. My calls and emails went unanswered since. At this time a month later I purchased a new block , gasket set, timing belt etc for 2500.00. I still don't know if the turbo is gone..which will be an additional 1500.00 The day I walked onto this car lot was the worst and most financially ruined decision I ever made. My advise, go to another lot or bring a mechanic that knows what they are doing. read more

Good prices, and very nice on the phone until I asked to set up a pre-purchase inspection. Got annoyed and said that none of their cars leave the lot. That means they sell lemons. The car was priced about 1000 dollars less than KBB, and there's probably a reason why. read more

Lied through their teeth about the condition and history of the car, once I got it home and up on jackstands, I saw that the head gaskets had an obvious external oil leak. These guys give used car dealers a bad name. read more

This was the WORST experience I've ever had! The guy Don is a scumbag money hungry animal. Sold me a car with so many issues covered it all up. I then brung the car back he said it's fine even though I brought the car to a dealer and they did a diagnostic. He didn't care kept saying they are lying they just want money too bad they did the diagnostic for free. Please stay away from this place I had to involve lawyers not to mentioned my lawyer found out he over priced the vehicle by $1,000! Save yourself this horrible headache and expenses.
