The pizza was good for a chain. Tried pan and thin. Old fashioned telephones at tables to call your order in.

    Stromboli Wrap-Up

Great eating experience, great staff and great atmosphere. Stromboli wrap is great! The service was quick and the food was hot! Would recommend half baked breadsticks.

    16 inch Royal Feast Pizza

Pizza King 's Royal Feast Pizza has everything you ever want on a pizza. You name it, it's on there! If you want a smaller size or a bigger size or a different crust, you can have that, too. Mine was a 16 inch pizza, and it's always delicious! My only complaint is that I wish they would get the app to work. I have tried to put it on my phone, and it starts to open up, and then it closes. I don't get to look at the menu. It would help on those days I want Pizza King at home.

Step back in time when families went out for pizza together! Ample seating and fun ordering on the phone at the table. Love the bread sticks with the butter and cheese.

It's all about the coupons. It's rare that I order from Pizza King without coupons and I've ordered from this one 50 or so times in the past 3 years, although my history with Mr. Pizza/Pizza King dates back to the 1960s. This location is closest to my house (and was closest to my parents' house). They offer everything in a more straightforward package than Clara's does. I was thinking that this was the first new location for Mr. Pizza/Pizza King when Dunkin' Donuts (and Lawson's?) left Richmond. They do a good job getting the food to you. The dining room is nothing special but there are a number of booths and tables available. I don't think it's all that good if you're in a wheelchair but many restaurants make that more difficult than it should be. The food is always well prepared and I find it's better to splurge and get the Royal Feast pizzas or the original submarine sandwiches. To me, they're a step behind Cassano's but that company hasn't been here for a while. Both companies use good ingredients and never make me think twice about what they're using. As I wrote earlier, I use coupons extensively. I think their regular prices are too high. It's not as though they overload the pizzas with ingredients. However, in Richmond, Pizza King is the best bet for pizza. I buy Little Caesar's pizza because it's good for the price, but I buy Pizza King pizza because of the taste. Any place else in Richmond? Forget it.

    Pepperoni Feast

This has been a family staple for cough, cough...many years. Having grown up 20 minutes from here, we now make it a "must eat" when back visiting family. We always get the Pepperoni feast and the Royal Feast. It's very different than most pizza places. Square cut and the meats are all ground up. This time we took it to go, but normally we sit in. The kids love ordering from the booth side phones. Otherwise known as "the thing on the wall" in Stranger Things. Damn I'm getting old. We always love it.

TERRIBLE. 36 cut square pizza? Misleading and should be arrested for charging $25 for pizza. 36 squares are bite size.

    This was $45.

This is that type of Swanky joint in the heart of old downtown. Richmond, Indiana. The owners have been here since 2023 and brought that old school flavor if New York right here to Indiana. Very patriotic and American! The Pizzas are really a cut above and unlike any other box pizza joints available throughout the Richmond area. We samples the classic cheese and, pepperoni & sausage and their special flavor Jack chicken pictured below. Wow! Crunchy bottom crust, medium doughy center. Airy and fluffy from the gas fired pizza ovens. The combination of drizzling s makes this a very unique flavor. Ranch, buffalo, & tangy BBQ sauce compliment the Jack cheese and tender grilled chicken chunks. Perfect! The ingredient were fresh, temperature perfect and the crust holds up the slice without drooping or needing to pinch or fold new York style. Portion & size are generous but not obnoxious. I ordered a pepperoni & sausage slice to go and they provide a convenient anti slide pizza slice box. Nice touch! Prices are affordably reasonable for the swanky atmosphere! Nice crunchy and salty exterior with a soft bread interior. You may select 3 from their 4 sauce offerings for dipping. We chose the beer cheese, nacho cheese, and brew pub mustard. Mustard was sweet, which was OK, but we were hoping for something leaning more into the spicy zone. The four of us ate maybe 2/3rds of it before our meals arrived. Very different from anywhere else I have seen and would definitely consider again. -Wife and I shared a 12" Veggie Pizza ($19.95 on menu, but noticed we were charged $9.25 on receipt) that looks like a Pizza King pizza, but is much heavier. It was generously loaded with cheese in addition to mushroom, onion, green pepper, and olive. We ate a little more than half of it. Absolutely would consider ordering this again. -Father-in-law ordered the Fish Sandwich (12.95), which is advertised as an 8" filet served on a hoagie bun. It looked all of that size when it came out and he seemed to enjoy it. He took half of it home. CONS: -Acoustics in the main dining area can make it difficult to have a conversation at your table. -Father-in-law asked if we could eat in the sun-room space, due to his hearing aids, but he was told it was reserved for 4 hours later that afternoon, so we were seated in the main area. (Discouraged as we saw a family seated in the sun-room space an hour later after the main area had mostly filled.) -[*I didn't learn about most of this until afterwards, otherwise I probably would have said something.]. Daughter ordered the Chicken Wrap Dinner Special ($10.95), which can be ordered grilled or breaded (she ordered grilled), came with cheddar cheese, shaken in choice of sauce (she ordered buffalo), and is served with fresh chips and cole slaw. The cole slaw is mayo-based instead of vinegar as she was hoping. Her chips, while to their credit were freshly made, were not completely finished as several of them were still raw. She said there was no buffalo flavor to her chicken and it just tasted blah. On top of that, she felt miserable the rest of the day, so we're questioning the handling of the chicken. OVERALL: -Only initial hiccup was where we were seated, so I would have leaned more towards a 4.5 star review. After learning about the multiple issues with my daughter's experience, would probably lean more 3.5 for our family as a whole. Bottom line, would return and order the pretzel, pizza, and other sandwiches, but stay away from the chicken options and perhaps make sure they finish preparing the chips if you get them.

It's a large yet cozy venue with the number 5 featured prominently in assorted art as well as on the tables. The building is historic, lots of wood, brick and brass railings plus a stunning Victorian bar back. We ate at the bar which was very comfortable. Little sliding wooden trays to make it convenient for eating, then just move them out of the way when you're done. They have 10 or so craft beers on tap and a full bar. We had the opportunity to sample a couple brews and we both enjoyed our beer choices and the food. Prices were fair, and tax is included in the menu price. I really want to shout out our bartender/server. Didn't get her name but she had round glasses with eyeglass chain attached and was on the shorter side. She was very customer focused, answering all our first-timer questions, attentive, appropriately conversational, and definitely on the ball as she was handling tables too. Top notch service. About those railings: unless there's a special back entrance, the venue may not be wheelchair accessible. There are two or three steps at the entrance, and if you want the bar instead of booth or table, another three or four. Both have sturdy solid handrails. I do not fault them for this; probably the historic building is exempt, but just wanted to note it for anyone needing that info. All in all a five star experience and I hope to return soon.
