I just had the worst experience of my entire life when I went to treatment at a place called Mandala Healing Center. It was horrible. I was treated like I was in prison. They took all my stuff. They held the phone. They wouldn't even let me use an electric toothbrush. They lost half my stuff. They also searched my car while I was inside, left it in complete disarray, and forced me to sign a document claiming nothing was found. I had no idea this would happen and no control over my property--it felt invasive and unsafe. They threw away all my medications, claiming they were expired, even though they weren't, and left me with no medicine or prescriptions when I left. This was medically unsafe and extremely distressing. The food wasn't even edible. I was a vegetarian and they never even got me vegetarian dietary restrictions. When I talked to four different people, the techs laughed in your face. The management wasn't present over the weekend. The lead therapist was talking negatively about everyone and using offensive language. They put four women in one room with four TVs blaring all night--I didn't sleep for three days. I barely ate for three days. Nobody would tell me what was going on. I had to check out against medical advice just to survive. They exhausted my nervous system, put me on medications like antipsychotics (I'm not bipolar), and completely flared my PTSD. You couldn't even have comfort items like stuffed animals. Personal items like electric toothbrushes were replaced with unusable ones. Things like hair dryers were "earned" through a point system. Staff were rude, dismissive, and untrained in trauma-informed care. The entire experience felt like a prison. They try to brainwash you into staying to bill insurance. I left after three days, and they called my sponsor without my permission. I went in seeking help and came out traumatized. This place is unsafe, unprofessional, and should be avoided. just came out today and I would never wish this place on my worse enemy . some techs are nice but the rest RUDE. food was garbage and groups were repeated consistently . The only thing nice about that place was the bed I forgot to get the brand name off of it. My name is Nicole and i was a patient at mandala and i just want to say that out of the 10 thousand other rehabs ive been too , cause ive been through alot of them ... Mandala is the only one that honestly truely helped me in my recovery . They were on top of my health while i was detoxing and the nurses made sure i was drinking enough water and had all the right medications when needed so . Also the techs there are amazing , they will sit one on one with you and talk to you as a friend and not just because they work there , because they actually care. They also helped me when i first got there with clothes , shoes , hygiene , etc... Also they have amazing groups such as , process groups , yoga groups , art therapy, sound healing , etc.. They have a amazkng team on their hands and every single last worker that ive came in contact with at mandala is willing to help ! ive been to treatment many of times and have never been more motivated to stay sober how i was at Mandala and i just want to thank them so much for their help and motivation that they gave me during my recovery. I was here from October to November 2025 and these reviews are totally wrong. It's a great place to get clean. Food is good, there are snacks and ice cream available 24/7. There's also yoga groups, massage and a chiropractor on site. There's a mobile gym that comes 5 days a week with everything you need for a great workout including a bench and a squat rack and plenty of dumbbells. Males and females are separated but I preferred that because there were less distractions and I could really focus on my self and my sobriety. there's 4 ppl to a large room with a bathroom and shower in the room. Everyone gets their own TV with the popular streaming apps included. Theres also a huge TV in the common area. Vape machine located in the auditorium and they go out to pick up cigarettes and vapes twice a week. There's also the Serenity store which you can use your tickets to buy clothes, sneakers, soups, candy and more. the staff is overall great and the nurses are kind and caring. Mandala got me clean and is helping me stay clean. I highly recommend it to anyone who is serious about getting sober. read more

So far my experience with Mandala has been very bad. To get the patient in they are very attentive but once they have them it only seems that what they care about is what they will be getting paid. Their communication with the family is awful you leave various messages and do not get any call back. I sent my son there thinking it was the best , but boy was I wrong. He was baker acted to Neuro Behavioral Hospital after being at Mandela 3 days which is even worse , most of the personal there is very rude and some nurse also treat the patient bad, they over medicate the patient to keep them in a zombie state to the point were the patient can even talk. I am desperate to get my son out of there as he is in really bad shape. I keep calling Mandala to see what is happening and no call back. Think twice before sending LOVED ONE THERE read more

My boyfriend stay there for 30 days They have no visiting hours due to the Covid I don't believe that these people help them in nothing I'm just to take them insurance money they said they were going to send him to a house and I don't know where they send them to and then he wasn't doing good at that house read more

My experience there was not good at all. There are a total of 48 people in the residential section all at the same time with mix ed personalities and backgrounds. One client picked a fight with me and was very aggressive he was screaming so loud the text had to separate us. He was the aggressor and they did nothing to him his behavior was completely unacceptable the end result they moved me from residential and housed me back in the detox section just to keep us separated. I felt nothing more than a victim and they had moved me to protective custody to get away from him. The end result they did nothing to him and they let him stay there. Aside from that their head tech Joe on the second shift brings a very negative energy. He's disrespectful to fellow staff that is underneath of him right in front of clients. I personally have had a bad experienced encounter with him. He ordered two texts one of them named Carmen also on the second shift to come up to me while I was eating dinner and order me to do a body search and a urine analysis and I was told that I could not leave the common area and had to be watched until I did. I felt disrespected and violated. And after everything was done I approached head tech Joe on the second shift and asked him why he did that to me he laughed at me and told me that they do it every single night and then proceeded to blow me off. The whole time I was there I never seen that done before someone singled out and harassed like that I wrote a grievance form and nothing was done to him. They keep enabling him and he'll always keep acting that way everywhere he goes. read more

Tomorrow marks 6 months clean in my journey of recovery and it's all thanks to this place. People complaining about the food obviously have never been elsewhere for detox treatment, this place was awesome. I remember spending $30k on a program back in 2010 and pretty much was the exact same as this one. Recovery is what you make it, this place gives you the tools and the insight to your addiction you need to start yourself on the right path to achieve a lifetime of sobriety. The techs are all cool, the nurses are all sweethearts, therapist were awesome and case management managed to control my legal situations while I was in treatment. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a new way of life. read more

I just left Mandala Healing Center a few days ago. I had a great experience and left feeling positive and empowered. There are 2 groups every day including some 12 step meetings at night. I had a great massage and the yoga instructor is awesome. The clinical director is caring, has a true understanding of addiction and focuses on the positives as all of the patients come in feeling pretty bad about themselves. The staff is very caring and loving and really want the patients to get well. They are always there to talk to you if you are feeling distressed, discouraged, or just feeling physically sick from going through withdrawal. Nursing is wonderful and helpful and the weekday doctor as well as the weekend doctor are very caring and very competent. I highly recommend Mandala Healing Center for detox in South Florida. It's really not that bad for a Detox center. But when they try to keep you longer and call it residential that's where it gets weird and you can tell it's all about the $. There's no reason to stay there for more than 10 days. On the website they claim there's a pool. Definitely not a pool. And the people you call for your initial intake honestly have no clue how things really work they're never on property. They'll tell u you can bring makeup as long as it's sealed. That's a lie. They do provide snacks n such, coffee, and a soda fountain. And out off all the places I've ever been to I can honestly say they have the most genuine caring staff who helped talk me of a ledge - forever grateful read more
