Baba Ghanoush can be had as a main, versus a side, the portion is aplenty, and the flavor is top notch; I prefer my ghanoush more chunky, but this is creamy and satisfying too! We had leftovers to take home and we ordered 2 more extra meats. You can get this around Little Palestine but this place specializes in it. It's the only item they make. The lamb is perfectly cooked and it literally fell off the bone. They give you a spoon to eat. I also saw locals use gloves to eat. They wrapped the rice and meat into small balls. The yellow rice is very tasty, not sure if they use turmeric. The yogurt sauce is tangy, salty, and tart. This is located in a small strip mall and parking is very tight and limited. We parked in the back. The prices were good since you get a lot of food for your money. I would come back. Also, this is a small restaurant. They have about 5 tables. I also noticed that the menu changes or the pricing have changed over time from 6 months ago to 3 months ago to just last Sunday. I got 2 drinks and side of arugula. That apple mint cabonated drink is super! The mint really stands out. As to the mansaf, the meat is good, rice is tender, nuts crunchy and the jameed is still pretty thin. In any case, I feel that the pricing is a bit high. In Chicago, I am able to get mansaf with lamb shank for less than $20. Nonetheless I'm glad I still tried it.

We ordered egg/meat/cheese, pepperoni, mixed meat bagel, sfeha with tahaina, and zaatar/akkawi cheese/cherry tomato. Honestly, everything was a 5/5. I liked that the pizzas weren't floppy and none of the ingredients slid off. The portions were huge. I also got a peach matcha. After mixing it, the peach taste was very noticeable: -The pepperoni tastes cleaner and more flavorful than the American places. For some reason, the American ones are so greasy and oily. -For the egg/meat/cheese pizza, the egg taste really stands out. -Sfeha is halal ground beef and has more flavor than regular ground beef. The tahaina helps make it pop. -The zaatar/akkawi/cherry tomato is an awesome combination. When you take that first bite, you'll immediately taste all of the ingredients. It's that prominent. -The mixed meat kaak has halal turkey, halal roast beef, halal salami, mozzarella, Mexican cheese, and their signature sauce. They give you two cups of sauces. The plates that my husband and I got were the chicken shawarma sandwich with a salad and the filet plate that comes with rice as well as grilled tomato and grilled onion. Thus, we drove down the street to Shibam instead, which was nice and empty. I believe this is the newer Shibam, as there's another Shibam down the street on Harlem next to Prince Sweets. The parking lot is spacious enough, and the restaurant is located right next to Shibam Market, so you can get groceries afterwards. The interior of Shibam looks okay. The booths are comfortable and spacious, and the restaurant overall is spacious. There's even a small area for prayer space. Like other Yemeni restaurants, they have plastic tablecloths for easy cleanup afterwards. We were given a couple of menus and picked our own booth. We ordered lamb haneeth (rice w/ lamb) and agda chicken (chicken stew w/ veggies); for the latter dish, we selected bread instead of rice. They also served complimentary salad, broth, and some sort of hot sauce. The lamb haneeth was very good, but we noticed the amount of meat was less than a couple other Yemeni restaurants we've tried. Still, it was enough for the three of us. The chicken dish was pretty flavorful and had plenty of veggies, but it was a bony chicken, so we had to pick off the meat. The ambiance was bright and nice artwork all around. A very beautiful and fun experience at Noon O Kabob in Hickory Hills.
