This Korean-Mexican fusion restaurant had me and my friends overestimating how much we could eat even before we ordered... which is to say the food looks temptingly delicious AND it's a high recommend! We got here on a Friday night around 6pm and it wasn't busy at all. Inside is extremely casual with the carpet floors and bright lights closer to the counter. It's a place I can see getting full at peak hours given the limited seating inside. Parking for this place is relatively easy to find; the parking lot was big and virtually empty when I got there. You order up at a kiosk at the register, and after that things are hands-off with the napkins, sauces, utensils and water. The servers then bring your food to your table and you can enjoy from there. Menu consists of regular Korean dishes, mandus (Korean dumplings) and Korean-inspired burritos. We got plenty of stuff: - The pan-fried mandus (pork, veggies, tofu, glass noodles) were pan-fried just right with enough burn marks to satisfy my appetite here. The provided sauce was definitely better than just having plain soy sauce. Regular pan=fried dumplings but I love them! - The meat lover's fries had spicy pork and bulgogi beef along with cheese. It made the plain fries so much better! - The Korean sweet & spicy chicken wings were pretty small but they packed a lot of spice and flavor. - The real winner here was the bulgogi steak burrito, which had a lot of bulgogi meat, cheese, cilantro, white rice and other things all wrapped in a burrito wrapping. This by itself was larger than I thought and took up the bulk of my meal. I would advise not to get as many things as my friends and I did if you get this. It's packed with flavor, very delicious and also very big for $12.99. It was so much bulgogi meat in one meal but this was one of the best things I've had in a while!

This was a small local place and they were friendly and made your food fresh, on the spot. Environment: it looked like an area that's fast food, though that's kind of the case, they don't rush you. It's small and the menu is a big touch screen for you to order on your own so you don't really need to chat with anyone unless you have a question. Staff: they give your food right away and are very kind as they greet you. Food: We ordered fried mandu and they were huge! Piping hot when we got it and it was flavorful and crispy. The steamed mandu were just as good and they give you a little chilli oil sauce to go with it and it was good. Both of the dishes look like it may not be enough for my friend and I but it was filling and very good. I am not sure about the price because my friend treated me but I the mandu ranged from $7-9. They had other dishes and also fusion foods such as Mexican and Korean food combined.

I went here for a relatively quick and casual meal and pricing and food quality are high up there. I went here closer to 6pm and it was not busy at all. You order at the front and take a seat anywhere. When the food is ready, they deliver to you, but you get your own water, etc and bus your own table. I personally ordered the hot flavored mandu as it has a more unique combination of ingredients compared to the standard fried or boiled mandu. Mandu is Korean dumplings, and this one has pork and vegetables with buldak sauce, mayo, and green onion. Buldak sauce is a pretty popular sauce that is from the buldak ramen (hot chicken flavor ramen) so it has a spicy kick to it. After all, this is "hot" for a reason. The mandu is deep fried and packs a lot of flavor. For the price of about $14 after tax for 6 pieces, this is a fair price and I was fairly stuffed at the end.

I came here with my friend and I always wanted to try this place. It's my friend's first time trying Korean food. It is definitely a good start for her. When we first walked in, you have to order first before finding your seat. We got corn cheese Mandu, veggie and pork Mandu, rice cake with cheese and Japchae with beef. Everything seasoned so well. I personally love the corn cheese Mandu, it's crispy with the sweetness of the corn. Everything tasted so well! It's definitely a must get for each item. The whole place was quiet because there weren't many people there. Everything is pretty much self serve, but they will bring the food out to you.

We stopped in based on the recommendation of the Federal Way Foodie on the way from Angle Lake to Tacoma. The place was empty so seating was super quick! Service was friendly and fast and we ordered the kimchi fries, japchae, some pork and veggie mandu, and some shrimp and pork mandu. We accompanied that with two hot teas and a Diet Coke (of course). Everything looked so good that it was hard to choose. Everything was good! The kimchi fries were crispy and covered with lots of goodies. We loved them. Both mandu were very tasty and appropriately large (K dumplings ). The japchae was flavorful and perfectly done. I would recommend Mandu-Ya! It's a great place to grab some mandu and the kimchi fries are freakin' awesome!

I kept seeing videos of people eating at Mandu-Ya and I had to try. We went on a whim on Saturday night at around 5:30pm and there were only two other groups besides ours there. The store is a little bit hidden but we were able to get to it using Maps. For dumplings we ordered the shrimp and pork, kimchi and pork, and corn cheese. We also got tteokboki. The dumplings had a lot of filling and it seemed as though they were made with love. The kimchi and pork definitely was packed with flavor. The corn cheese dumpling stood out to me the most as it was very unique! I felt like I could eat so many of those. Definitely recommend getting the corn cheese dumplings if you come here. I felt like the prices for the dumplings are expensive for what they give you. The dumplings range from $13-17 for 6-7 pieces. I don't think that would stop me from coming back though, but it was a little surprising seeing the cost. Overall it was a cute, chill restaurant and I think I will be visiting again whenever I crave dumplings.

I was super intrigued by Mandu-Ya's Mexican-Korean fusion menu when I saw an Instagram video on them. My fiancé also has been raving about their food, so it was about time I head over to try! We ordered the hot flavored fries ($15) and the k-steak quesadilla ($15) to-go through the self ordering iPad. They had our food ready in less than 15 minutes, and we were excited to dig in when we got home. The fries were soooo flavorful with the sauces. The fries themselves were crispy, and the meat was marinated and cooked well. I would definitely get this again. I was a bit disappointed that the quesadilla did not come with nacho cheese and spicy mayo like advertised. Unfortunately, I didn't realize this until we got home. Regardless, I felt like the quesadilla itself was solid - very cheesy and the meat was cooked until it was tender. It was just missing the sauces, which would have made it even more delicious!

There was a Korean fusion menu on top of their regular menu! For dumplings we had their kimchi and pork dumplings (pork, kimchi, veggies, tofu, & glass noodles...one of us liked it a lot, the other said it was too much kimchi which made me personally not try them b/c Im not a big fan of kimchi), bulgogi dumplings (freaking yum! beef bulgogi with glass noodles, veggies, and tofu were a delicious combo), and pork and veggie dumplings (pork veggies and tofu were a juice tasty combo). We also ordered the corn cheese mandu, which is their version of korean corn cheese...in a little empanada. #nomnomnom #corncheeseheaven we are on #teamcorncheese, so we may be biased! Lastly, I was super surprised that I liked my couple of handful of bites of the kimchi fried rice. As you know, Im not a kimchi fan. I'd definitely order AND eat it again. On the fusion side, We tried the bulgogi tacos... the bulgogi, carrots, cabbage, grilled onions, cilantro, and a splash of spicy mayo on the corn tortilla was a fun combo in my mouth. My tastebuds were super happy! It's an excellent fusion! #FoodieLife #Foodie #foodiejourney #ManduYa #FoodieFamily #ARestaurantADay #supportlocalbusiness #supportsmallbusiness #LocalEats #FederalWayLocalEats #FederalWayKoreanFood #FederalWayKoreanDumplings #KoreanDumplingHouse #FoodPorn #RealFoodReviewFromRealPeople #IDontGetPaidForMyReview #ILoveDumplings #ILoveRealDumplings #ILoveFilledDumplings #DumplingsThatArentFilledArentDumplings ;) You can't change my mind. Mandu-Ya had delicious food! It was self order, but they also had an option to order through a server. They also had self seating and self serve water station. The dumplings had a lot of filling and were juicy. Portions very generous, I left feeling satisfied and full. My favorite was the Kimchi and Pork dumplings! Would definitely come back if I'm in the area!

I wanted to treat myself this evening so after looking at Yelp with restaurants that have dumplings, I settled on Mandu-Ya. It was a little on the pricier side (3 orders of Mandu/dumplings) came to $50 but I anticipated the price tag after seeing the other reviews. I think I have a different idea of what dumplings are supposed to be but I've also never heard of Mandu. Honestly Mandu reminds me of a fried egg roll wrapped in a empanada form. The corn cheddar Mandy's were excellent. Hot, crispy and unique. The corn was definitely canned corn but I like the taste of canned corn. The cheese was stretchy gooey as soon as you bit in. I love that stretch. The flavored sour cream drizzle on top really heightened the taste. It was a wonderful little Mandu. 8 out of 10 The shrimp & pork dumplings are more like what I envisioned. I liked how they had the shrimp tail stick out. Visually appealing. They were steamed and still hot when I picked them up. The shrimp flavor was a little overpowering for me, you can't really taste the pork. (But I think this means the ingredients were fresh.) And the overall filling fell short for me. It needed more spices in the filling. I would rate these a 6 out of 10. The Hot Flavored Mandu were quite tasty. 9 out of 10. I loved the spicy sriracha drizzle on top. Fried to perfection. The filling was pork and vegetables and it was seasoned well. (Or maybe the introduction of the sriracha drizzle added a spicy sweetness to the overall crunchy bite.) My husband also loved these best as well. Little messy but so worth it. I definitely recommend eating these mandus when they're hot and crispy. Perhaps your air fryer could heat these up perfectly. Service was excellent and they were ready within 15min. Friendly staff!

I'll give them 3.5-stars. The best dishes were Kimchee fried rice & corn cheese mandu. Everything else was just ok, prob will not order again. Pan fried mandu was disappointing especially since it was $16. We paid $140 w/tip....Little pricy for what we got.

I can't wait to go back! After coming back from Korea just a few weeks ago, and missing the mandu that I used to make with my grandma, we decided to try out this fairly new spot. Let me tell you, when they say handmade dumplings, it is 100% handmade. Everything was so tasty and perfectly cooked. The staff is friendly and service was great. We had the pork/vegetable, kimchi, and shrimp/pork/vegetable mandu, and an order of wings. The wings were perfectly sauced and crispy. We also got the knife cut noodles (spicy seafood), which was also really good. Looking forward to eating here again soon!

Got seated promptly at a table with a grill. Looked at the menu and noticed it changed to have an AYCE Option as well as the regular one. It looked different than the previous one which had combos and whatnot for parties of 2 or more. Anyway, the 3 of us decided to get the Classic Combo for $38.99/per person. Initially requested for 2 orders of Beef Brisket, 2 Pork Belly, 2 Pork Gyoza, a Bulgogi French Fries and an Egg Roll along with 4 Rice bowls. For some odd reason, our grill at the table heated up very slowly even on high! Had to wait a while to grill the meat and took a long time to cook them because the induction was too low. After our first order of food items, we asked multiple times for more of the Beef Brisket, Pork Belly, Egg Rolls, Gyoza, Rice and Japchae (Stir Fried Glass Noodles). It seemed like the quality of the BBQ meat went down compared to our last visit. Maybe because they had changed it to a more prominent All-You-Can-Eat BBQ joint? I'm not quite sure, but we could definitely taste the difference in the meat quality. The other food items were tasty, though. Have to remember that their portion sizes changed to be smaller as well. I suppose they did that in order to save food inventory for the AYCE option in case not everyone finished their portions and had big amounts of leftover food. Service was pretty good, received decent table service and requests for refills on water, side dishes and additional menu item orders. Overall, we had a pleasant dine-in experience. Next time we may end up ordering from the regular menu. As for parking, it was actually pretty packed in the front and back of the restaurant. Guess it was a busy time for people to eat their dinner at the time we went.

We were also misled in the fact that we thought we could get fried chicken here only to find out they don't have it on their menu anymore. This was during a Friday evening around 6pm, and my friend and I got seated immediately since the restaurant was empty. You've got a lot of tables inside that are relatively clean and seat mostly groups of 4 or so. News in Korean is playing on a TV nearby, and the interior just feels calming with the uniform wooden floors and tables. Menu is limited here though most of it is for their traditional hangover soups. My friend and I wanted some meat dishes so we got both their spicy pork and beef bulgogi on sizzling grills. Both meats came sizzling when brought to our table, though they weren't piping hot from what I remember. Spicy pork was hard to chew at times, and my friend had to spit out one piece because it was too hard. It wasn't too spicy though I think it would have benefited from more spice since the flavor wasn't too strong. The beef bulgogi was both of our favorites, though the color wasn't too appealing and I felt there was a ton of liquid, as if the beef was plated before all the water evaporated from the pan. Service was top-notch for both of us, though. Staff were attentive in answering our questions, grabbing our utensils and getting us water when we asked. I felt this was a one-off visit because we didn't get the dishes this place is more well-known for, so I'll come back again to have their hangover soups instead.

They seated us quickly. The food is simple: soup or friend chicken! To which the answer is, of…read morecourse, both! Chicken: We got a half/half order of chicken. I'm.. weak, the spicy one was too spicy for me and next time I'll avoid it. Still, all the chicken was juicy and crispy and excellent. My friends got the green onion chicken-- delicious and I think they shred an entire HMart bundle of scallions onto the single dish. Soup: We got the brisket soup. I had too much chicken and side dishes (which they regularly replenished!) to really have much of it, but what I had was clear and tasty. I'm not really in this area much, but I'd recommend it to others! The location is a little odd and tucked away in a closed plaza, but plenty of parking and the food is good and the staff is quick.
