Pistachio encrusted salmon special w risotto

Went for the first time tonight- got a reservation for a Friday at 5:30 pm in late May. Our server Cara was excellent, friendly and accurate. Gave us all the specials and answered our questions. We brought a bottle of wine and they also sell some local wine here. I had the lump of crabmeat appy and the pistachio encrusted salmon special which was cooked all the way through as I requested. My husband got the octapus appy and loved the way the served it, shaved, marinated w red onion, avocado- he got the burger cooked very rare the way he asked. He was in heaven. No dessert was ordered we were too full! The ambiance is clean cut, very nice and minimalist. There are three rooms and a private party in one room. Plenty of employees taking care of business. We were not rushed. We will go back. It's a bit expensive, though kit unreasonable the way things are going in restaurants lately.

We had a wonderful dinner. Easy to make a reservation and is BYOB. Mathew was are server and he was excellent. We went out with 4 people in our group. We started off with a delicious fried Calamari. Then our dinners came with either a soup or salad, which was also very good. I got the soup and they got the salads. They always have wonderful soups. Then we ordered chicken saltimbucco (may have spelt it wrong), shrimp Manera, Manera Veal and a wonderful seafood dish with lots of seafood and linguine. We had a wonderful time and weren't rushed. Everything was delicious. Can't wait to go back.

Had reservations for my son's birthday dinner. Had to wait at the front hostess stand for almost 10 min before anyone walked by. The servers came by to greet us as we stood there and went above and beyond to make sure we got taken care of- but where was the host or manager? Strange start. We were seated by a server who was very busy. Our table was situated in an odd part of the dining room- private which was nice but just seemed like a long hallway. Little to no decor in the place made it seem like they just opened or like we were on a tv set lol. Pendant lights were a little blinding but I'm not trying to sound like a Karen. Our server tried to fix the lighting but it just popped right back on. :) we appreciated the effort! Our server seemed very new and he was doing great, but overall could tell they were understaffed. He went above & beyond to make sure we were happy- even bringing the cake already lit out to our table while singing! Was not expecting that. Manager came by once and seemed annoyed. We asked him for a togo box by accident thinking it was our server and he seemed annoyed that we asked and then asked us what our servers name was. Shouldn't he know who has our table? We felt like we got our server in trouble for something very minuscule. Food was delicious from start to finish - steaks were cooked CORRECTLY and everything looked beautiful. Kudos there! Overall a very nice dinner but I think the decor & staff needs some help!

Stumbled upon this place by accident. The food was fantastic the lemon chicken was done excellent. Simple dish many can't execute well. The chicken saltimbocca was a pleasant surprise to see as well as it's not widely served a strong sauce but overall solid choice. The soup was simple and hearty. Not pictured was the house salad that was just a tad too earthy for my liking. The service was excellent multiple people running to fill glasses and attend any needs even with 2 large private parties going on it was great. The decor is well put together and is reminiscent of an art gallery. Solid pick overall it just fell short for me in couple departments, the art gallery feel is put off by the doctors office style paintings. The seafood offerings i think are lackluster, it's your standard offerings (crab cake, seafood tower , shrimp in red sauce). There is some one in the kitchen with creativity that has some skill i think they can do much better then your standard offerings. Also it's BYOB they do have a small 6-8 house bottles as well.

Happy New Year. We came here for New Year's Eve. The decor is modern and clean. The servers, including ours, were all very professional and friendly. Our meals were excellent and the portions were good. Overall experience was great and we look forward to coming back.

We went out to eat twice while there, once for dinner and once for lunch. I will review both places using this as my intro to the reviews. For lunch on August 5, 2026 we ate at Charlie's of Bay Head. We were 4 adults and a toddler. I was surprised the ratings I saw were basically average, in the high 3's. That was not our experience. Considering my daughter had tried unsuccessfully to book a dinner reservation, which she said was true for their entire stay at the beach, was why we ended up here for lunch, and should tell you it is more popular than a mediocre location. This is a pricier spot than my other review of last night's dinner at the Wharfside, but the menu and ambiance support it. Like the night before there were cocktails and wines with lunch, though less so than we'd have had if it were dinner. The wine list and cocktail offerings were more than just decent, though not extensive. Being lunch and not dinner, the selections were lighter than a dinner would have been. There were several sandwiches from steak, to chicken, to crab cakes, and lobster rolls. Our toddler ate off the children's menu and enjoyed the mac and cheese. We also had several appetizers, including calamari, the steak egg rolls, which seemed more like a burrito than an egg roll, and king crab, which, while delicious, was not worth the money at $165/pound. It is a lovely location with waterside dining, but service was slow and why we skipped out on dessert. For those challenged by the stairs at the entrance, there is an elevator that can be accessed to bring strollers and those with handicaps up to the restaurant. This was definitely a 4, maybe a 5, but not anything lower. At least that was our experience

We placed our appetizers which arrived in a reasonable time line but we had to wait 1.5 hours for our main meal to be delivered. Way too slow and they were extremely slow this evening. Hated to have a confrontation at the dinner table but one happened and it didn't go well. Good luck and pass this place!

The menu looked quite interesting and what caught my attention was one of their burgers. They baked brie burger with bacon and fig preserve. Upon entering the establishment, we found it quite pleasant. The food was absolutely amazing. We all looked at each other and said we will definitely be back. The menu looked amazing as well with selections for breakfast with lemon ricotta, pancakes, and stuffed French toast which we will definitely have to give a try. The staff was on point and a tentative I give this establishment a 10 out of 10.

Although it wasn't very busy, service upstairs was fairly slow, and several nearby tables also seemed to be waiting a while for food or checks. For drinks, we ordered the Boardwalk Lemonade, which was sweet and refreshing, and their version of an Aperol Spritz, which had a beautiful presentation. My dad's Baked Brie Burger was delicious--the fig jam paired perfectly with it, and the waffle fries were fried to perfection. I ordered the Mr. Beautiful Burger, which tasted great at first. Unfortunately, I felt VERY sick almost immediately after eating. I can't say for certain what caused it, but since my dad didn't try my burger and felt fine after his meal, I suspect mine may not have been cooked properly. Despite that, I enjoyed the atmosphere, drinks, and overall experience. I'd definitely give this place another chance, though I'll skip the Mr. Beautiful Burger next time.

We went to Spring Lake beach this weekend and we were looking for a good restaurant. We found Blend…read moreby Chef Lou. It's a nice, quiet venue and the staff were very attentive and friendly. We started with the bread, a focaccia, which was served with an olive oil that had a large roasted garlic in it. It was a delicious starter, and complimented our Caesar salad. The Caesar salad was 'different' - aren't they all? I've been experiencing very different types - the one tonight had a subtle dressing - with a subdued sweetness. The grated Parmesan and Breadcrumbs smothered the salad - when you see the picture, you'll understand. It was a good salad, however I would have preferred less grating and more dressing. Next up, the Waygu Meatballs, in a delicious San Marzano tomato sauce. The meatballs were excellent. I was mystified by the accompanying 'jar' of 'basil' ricotta. See attached picture-it's a large amount of ricotta - I tasted it - it was very creamy but the basil was faintly noticeable. I added a little to a meatball and it didn't enhance the 'bite' at all. I was embarrassed leaving this large jar of cheese. We shared the two entrees - the first, Sea Bass on a bed of mashed potatoes was cooked perfectly and had the most delicate taste. It was 'too delicate', if there is such a thing as- for they say, ' good fish, doesn't taste like fish '. However, the fish needed seasoning or sauce - one or the other, or both. The next entree was the mushroom house made ravioli - a tender pasta with a mushroom filling covered in a creamy, earthy mushroom sauce. We also ordered a side of sautéed wild mushrooms and added those to the ravioli - it was a wonderful dish.

The worst part was some of the tables are very close so sitting next to an obnoxious guy makes it hard to ignore. Anyway, the food: we each got a salad: Caesar salad dressing was in point, but TOO much cheese and the croutons were stale but there were t that many of those so no biggie. Hubby got the Tre colore salad which was a special & he loved it. For dinner we both did specials: chicken rollatini (amazing! Highlight dish of the evening) & husband got the Salmon Oscar which was very good too. Took dresser home as we often do bc we were stuffed: ring ding for 2. WOW! The pastry chef there is a genius and super talented, it was SO GOOD! I had coffee which was fantastic & hubby had espresso also fantastic. We will definitely be back!
