Let's start with the good: the service is lovely and the ambiance is your typical fare for the Irish pub. Come here for lunch and it's alright. But we need to talk about this "change" on the menu. And I bear zero ill will toward the staff, but 28$!!!! For the sliced steak? Are you kidding me? This is 8 dollars MORE than the filet mignon. This is 8$ more than the reuben. The sizzling sliced chicken is 17$-- the sliced steak is NEARLY DOUBLE. What the heck is happening here? This is beyond price gouging. Is this in response to the shore summer traffic? We visited March 13, hoping to get some good corned beef and cabbage. Even though the place was very busy, we got seated right away, which was nice. One drawback is that there is no handicapped entrance. One of our party uses a walker and it is very difficult to negotiate the two uneven steps and the not-up-to-code railing to get into the building. That really needs to be addressed. It is surprising that they get away with that. Two of our party ordered corned beef and cabbage; one ordered fish and chips. The corned beef was on the tough side although it had a good taste. The cabbage was very bland. The potatoes and carrots were very good. We had a starter of stuffed mushrooms, which were just delicious. Of the fish and chips dinner, the fish was great. However, the chips (fries) were soggy and overdone. Really not good at all. Irish kiss after dinner coffees were very good. One person ordered ice cream that never arrived. The place was very busy so I can let that slide. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The noise level is very high. You kind of have to yell at your party members to be heard.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] To be fair, we have eaten at Harrigan's on other occasions and had some memorable entrees-taco salad, pork chops to name a couple. Stopped by recently for the first time and really enjoyed it. It happened to be shrimp night, so they had a variety of shrimp entrees for $18. I got the shrimp parm over pasta and it was delish! We also got sliders which were great, too. Definitely going back! read more

Very suspect. My family and I have been going here for years. The prices this time around were so inflated that I couldn't believe it. So I decided to do some research knowing that there's no way they've been this high until very recently. My go-to is always the signature sizzling steak so for the bartender to to tell me he has no idea what the prices are but that they haven't gone up in at least the past year is full-on bullshit. If you search online for old menus they're pretty much wiped from the internet. Who you fooling, Harrigan's? Well, not me anymore. $29.99 for sliced steak, white bread and mashed potatoes? $17.95 for a burger no toppings and a few steak fries? That was the last time you'll see me and my family except for maybe specials nights. Call me cheap, but this is out of control. $150 for a couple of burgers and drinks. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I hope you find the crowd you're looking for to pay those prices. You're a pub trying to be something you're not. Good luck. No wonder it was so empty. Wallets talk. Harrigans cures any hangover, Sunday scaries, good food craving and good beer craving all at once. The environment alone makes you feel super welcome and the staff is beyond friendly. You can tell everything is made with love especially the French onion soup. I'm convinced I drive here over an hour now just to get the French onion soup and Irish coffee. We had the special wings with a mustard Buffalo sauce and they were amazing. Fantastic ranch too which really made it. We always order two soups & then get the filet mignon sliders topped with blue cheese and crispy onions. So so so good. We come here every other week at this point. read more

Went to all you can eat crab night. The crabs were perfectly seasoned and full of meat. Our waitresses Megan and Delaney as busy as they were gave us outstanding service! They could not have been more accommodating. Impeccable service. We we're large group. We had a wonderful time, eating delicious food & drinks in an atmosphere of fun. Last but not least, we couldn't leave without taking home the famous crab soup!! The crab soup is perfectly seasoned and full of meaty crab!! I haven't had one bad meal at this place! Enjoyed our first visit here after passing by the place a million times. A nice cozy Irish neighborhood place. Very comfortable. Lots of locals scone by and everyone knows Reggie's the bartender name. Limited menus but a good selection of specials. . Had the garlic chicken dinner. Off the charts good. I've been coming here for a couple years. I like the bar and trivia night. Drinks are good and the bartenders are great. 4 stars for the Bar. Restaurant is probably 1 star. Couple reasons. Wait staff is just inept. I've tried dinner with my family 4 times. Each time they got the order wrong. And it takes literally forever to place an order, receive food, and ultimately pay the check. It's just frustrating. It's basic food. Burgers. Sandwiches. Salads. Best thing on the menu is the sizzling chicken. But, it's super basic. Salads are mediocre. Lettuce always soggy, which feels wrong. And weird. But, the service is just plain bad. You have to cajole the waitress to order. Ask repeatedly if the food is in. Tonight literally waited an hour for a salad. And then had to beg for the check multiple times so we could leave. In summary, great place for a drink and for trivia. Terrible for dinner. read more

My go to spot when I am in town for a cold bear, good service and friendly atmosphere. I love sitting at the bar with my father-in-law drinking, snacking on apps and talking politics LOL. Come on a Wednesday and sit at the bar for 2 for 1 burgers. The best in Monmouth/Ocean County. They come on a kaiser/hard roll which I prefer. Too many places are switching to a brioche bun, which I am not a fan of. They offer a lot of appetizers for $5 during happy hour, which I have yet to try, but customers have told me they are excellent. The bar is not the biggest, but the clientele is always welcoming.
