If you love pinball, they have cool machines here. I saw pulp fiction, jurassic park, and evil dead machines, for example. Their comic book shop isn't the largest one in LA; however, they are well stocked here. Check their website to see their inventory of unique items. If you keep an eye on their calendar they will have interesting events here. My wife has seen comic book signings here. Last week they had Jeff Hays, famous for the "Dungeon Crawler Carl" audio books, who was on site to do a reading of "Absolute Batman #1" for Batman Day. On top of this, they have some nicely curated gems. My wife was able to get a curated stack of "Vampire Hunter" comics that was from the Buffy universe. Next door, they have a coffee shop with ample seating/table space. Saw a group of people playing D&D there. The summation of all these things is what makes this spot in Eagle Rock special. We didn't even mind contending with the terrible parking in the area. Because I live in Long Beach, I'll probably order things from here on their website; however, I'm glad that we came.

They also have some machines that are free play so that's a bonus. everything looked aesthetically pleasing for me, great value definitely worth the visit! we visited when they were about to close so I hope to come back and get something.

There is a sitting area with comfy chairs where you can read their manga like a library. The owner was very nice and welcoming. We chatted about things and the store has been in his ownership for about 6 months. I look forward to not having to drive all the way to LA just to buy manga.

The pop-up runs through August, and while the main focus is Sonic the Hedgehog, they also have merch from Persona and Yakuza. Going on a weekday with a friend was definitely the right move--we only had to wait a few minutes to get in. Upon entering, staff hands you a ticket, and employees closely monitor the room while you browse. The shop is exceptionally well-organized, making it fun to look through all the beautiful, high-quality items. Since almost everything is directly imported from Japan and hard to find in the U.S., the prices are definitely on the higher side, but the exclusivity makes it worth it. I couldn't resist picking up a miniature Shadow the Hedgehog plush! The only downside to the visit was the customer service at checkout. The two employees at the register were busy chatting with each other, so I eventually had to speak up to ask if I could check out. The employee who rang me up seemed annoyed by the interruption, skipped any friendly greetings or questions about my visit, and just handed over my item after scanning it. Despite that brief hiccup at the counter, the overall experience was super positive. It was so fun wearing my Sonic shirt, seeing all the Japanese exclusive merchandise, and taking in the atmosphere. I highly recommend swinging by before it closes at the end of the month!

No problem--I started looking for another item to add since I was planning to spend more anyway. As they started to announce the store was closing, I asked if I could quickly grab cash from a friend outside the store and was asked, "Can you do it in 3 minutes?" This same associate was managing the customers going in to the store and she seemed to have issues remembering people's faces. I understand the store was closing, but the interaction felt rushed and unwelcoming. I was still trying to make a purchase and likely would have bought additional items, but after being treated like an inconvenience, I decided to leave instead.

Employees don't seem helpful or care that they're there. Just not a great location... It's Little Tokyo, you NEED to have Japanese language manga here...

Store smelled horrible too. Like a bunch of unwashed greasy hair. Hilarious I was literally the only Asian in there. Parking is nonexistent and it's just not worth the trip here unless you're one of those otaku.

The staff were also so nice and friendly and they ended up laughing just as much as us seeing everyone's antics! So good. They had magic spells, motorcycles, kicking a soccer ball, pretending to eat humans, and many more. If you're an anime fan, I highly recommend this place. We went after Anime Expo finished on a weekday afternoon and the line wasn't so bad. The line was actually longer for the store but the store is small and mainly manga and t-shirts. Best of all, the entire exhibit is FREE. You really can't get much better than that. If they have this next year, I'm going again!

The interactive room was really cool, and staff were really friendly. Lines were surprisingly not that long for a Friday during lunch time, but there was still a lot of people. The merchandise, in my opinion, could've been more varied. Prices were very affordable. A few items were already sold out too, but lacked in options/diversity. I completely understand the limited amount fue to the pop up nature, but just a little bit more would've been nice. As for the printed displays/artwork. It was really cool seeing them and reading the information. I felt like how they printed some artwork (like Witch Hat Atelier) could've been better. It's printed on canvas, and unfortunately I felt like the texture of the canvas interfered with the delicate line work of the art style.

Out of the ashes rises a phoenix…read more I was surprised to see Harmmy Anime while crossing the street near the 99 Ranch Market. Crazy to see that they went from hot pot (IYKYK), to a spot at the mall, to a stand alone store. They're located right next to the Takashima. Funny enough, even with less space than the mall, I feel like they have more stuff and stock than before. The walls are LINED with so many kuji (raffle prizes) that you can purchase and win from. This ranges from anime series like Freiren, Haikyuu, etc. , cute Sanrio characters, to even series like Spongebob, and of course, Hatsune Miku. There's lots and lots of them, and you can take a look at the wall to see what prizes have already been won. There's a good amount of acrylic stands of characters, keychains, some cute plushies and plushie key chains (Chiikawa, Sanrio, etc.), some prize and other smaller figures, and lots and lots of blind buttons! There's a discount shelf at the bottom, but it's a pretty fair price for around $4-7 depending on the series. Lots of LADS (Love and Deep Space), Chinese series and danmei (I can't tell if it's all BL or not), and other various series like Frieren, Haikyuu, Tomie, Cardcaptor Sakura, Naruto, Kirby, Detective Conan, Identity V, Kaiju No. 8, etc. There's also Hoyoverse (slop) wall of goods too. There's also a LOT of LADS stuff here, so if you're a LADS girly you can easily build a shrine or an ita bag just with the stuff that you get here. The worker there was polite and stood at attention at his post the entire time that I was there. I got the Natsume Yuujinchou gacha buttons (they were discounted) and the Tomie buttons. Happy with what I got and I really liked that the Natsume buttons came with protectors and extra cheki cards. Cute! Now that they have a wider selection of kuji and goods that aren't just massive figures (though they still have that too), I can see myself stopping by more frequently.

I was relatively happy with my choices until the "mystery" gachapon revealed itself to me for 1 token, it lay low like a snake stalking its prey. With bated breath I put one in and I cannot tell you the amount of despair I felt as a one inch fighter jet came out. There weren't even other fighter jets on the paper it came with. I was genuinely devastated, instead of getting something I actually loved. I get this stupid plane that I'm going to burn to the ground for my $2 worth of entertainment. My fault entirely of course. But besides my severe lapse in judgement. They have so many choices in terms of blind boxes and collectibles too! The store is really clean and well maintained, with lots of space for walking unlike the other cramped stores around. Definitely recommend!
