Crazy to see that they went from hot pot (IYKYK), to a spot at the mall, to a stand alone store. They're located right next to the Takashima. Funny enough, even with less space than the mall, I feel like they have more stuff and stock than before. The walls are LINED with so many kuji (raffle prizes) that you can purchase and win from. This ranges from anime series like Freiren, Haikyuu, etc. , cute Sanrio characters, to even series like Spongebob, and of course, Hatsune Miku. There's lots and lots of them, and you can take a look at the wall to see what prizes have already been won. There's a good amount of acrylic stands of characters, keychains, some cute plushies and plushie key chains (Chiikawa, Sanrio, etc.), some prize and other smaller figures, and lots and lots of blind buttons! There's a discount shelf at the bottom, but it's a pretty fair price for around $4-7 depending on the series. Lots of LADS (Love and Deep Space), Chinese series and danmei (I can't tell if it's all BL or not), and other various series like Frieren, Haikyuu, Tomie, Cardcaptor Sakura, Naruto, Kirby, Detective Conan, Identity V, Kaiju No. 8, etc. There's also Hoyoverse (slop) wall of goods too. There's also a LOT of LADS stuff here, so if you're a LADS girly you can easily build a shrine or an ita bag just with the stuff that you get here. The worker there was polite and stood at attention at his post the entire time that I was there. I got the Natsume Yuujinchou gacha buttons (they were discounted) and the Tomie buttons. Happy with what I got and I really liked that the Natsume buttons came with protectors and extra cheki cards. Cute! Now that they have a wider selection of kuji and goods that aren't just massive figures (though they still have that too), I can see myself stopping by more frequently.

Stepping into Comic Cellar is like walking into Narnia, if Narnia was full of comic books, smelled…read moreslightly of vintage paper, and had two friendly guides named Tom and Brian instead of a talking lion. This place has everything.... shiny new comics, ancient relics from the comic book Stone Age, Manga, and probably a cursed scroll or two. My daughter asked about a specific comic, and Tom and Brian sprang into action (to assist) like Batman and Robin (you decide who's who). I was impressed w the Manga choices as well. The vibe? Top-tier. The collection? Comic heaven!!! Parking? Well... it's street parking, so bring your sneakers and mentally prepare for a hero's journey to the front door. Worth the quest. Employees don't seem helpful or care that they're there. Just not a great location... It's Little Tokyo, you NEED to have Japanese language manga here...

I came during the opening and it was a super fun and welcoming event. Free cake and mocktails, as well as a sticker, fun way to mingle with the community, and I got to speak to the owners for a bit too. It's founded by a creative, artistic husband wife duo who sought to create a space to celebrate indie creators and to curate unique collectibles. It's eye catching, fun, cute, and neat in so many ways. Truly a love letter to what they're passionate about. I also got some of the buildable model kits for my brother, and he really liked it. It was a the ducky with the floaty. For myself, I got a really cute Takoyakinz from a Japanese designer, the message on the back of the label was really heartwarming, and Karl, who is a cute vinyl Kappa. There's something for everyone here and it's really neat to own a piece of art that you can hold, manipulate, and display, just like a nostalgic toy. Definitely a must stop if you're in the area and I can't wait to come back again and to see their future collaborations and endeavors!

I walked into a store that carries merchandise that simply does not surface at most American retailers, and that distinction was the main reason I made the trip. The selection covers a wide range. I saw rows of pins, acrylic stands, stickers, keychains, figurines, manga, and stationery filling the floor, and the depth in certain titles went well beyond what I have found at convention vendor tables or general pop culture stores. The Project Sekai section was one of the more notable dedicated areas and is genuinely rare to encounter outside of Japan. VTuber merchandise and more niche title selections appeared here in a way that reflects the store's connection to the Japanese market rather than just catering to the most mainstream Western anime fanbase. There is also a gashapon section where you can exchange cash for tokens and try your luck at the machines, which tends to draw its own crowd. Prices run higher than what I would pay in Japan directly, which is expected given the import overhead, but for collectors who cannot make the trip the markup is the cost of access. The store is worth visiting for any serious fan of the medium, and even a casual browse tends to surface something unexpected.

The owner was incredibly helpful and patient with us, taking the time to understand what we were looking for and guiding us to first sets that were perfect for our skill levels. His enthusiasm was genuine, and it made the whole experience fun and welcoming, never overwhelming for complete beginners like us. The prices are very reasonable, which is a huge plus when you're testing out a new hobby with your kid. We both walked out with our own kits, and I have to say, I'm just as hooked as my son! Building these models has been a surprisingly relaxing and rewarding experience, and I'm already looking forward to tackling more complex builds and refining them. ST30 was sold out at all the usual shops I go to so decided to call Crimson Guild and much to my suprise, they had it. Came by the next day to pick it up and grabbed some singles I needed as well. Great TCG selection of both sealed product and singles. The people running the shop were super helpful and prices were very reasonable. Parking was easy. This place is a bit more of a drive for me but will definitely be back.

Kodansha House was so much fun! I went with my sister and we had a blast. Some of the exhibits are…read moreso stupid but still so much, we were just laughing because they were great! The staff were also so nice and friendly and they ended up laughing just as much as us seeing everyone's antics! So good. They had magic spells, motorcycles, kicking a soccer ball, pretending to eat humans, and many more. If you're an anime fan, I highly recommend this place. We went after Anime Expo finished on a weekday afternoon and the line wasn't so bad. The line was actually longer for the store but the store is small and mainly manga and t-shirts. Best of all, the entire exhibit is FREE. You really can't get much better than that. If they have this next year, I'm going again!

The interactive room was really cool, and staff were really friendly. Lines were surprisingly not that long for a Friday during lunch time, but there was still a lot of people. The merchandise, in my opinion, could've been more varied. Prices were very affordable. A few items were already sold out too, but lacked in options/diversity. I completely understand the limited amount fue to the pop up nature, but just a little bit more would've been nice. As for the printed displays/artwork. It was really cool seeing them and reading the information. I felt like how they printed some artwork (like Witch Hat Atelier) could've been better. It's printed on canvas, and unfortunately I felt like the texture of the canvas interfered with the delicate line work of the art style.
