Service was good and they're very friendly. It was not too busy the day we went in for lunch we got a booth. It was clean although the table covers are getting old. This place is an old well loved restaurant with plastic table cloths & carpet. Service was pretty good, & all of the staff were very friendly. The food was mediocre at best. The caesar salad came out with a plastic to go side cup of dressing & lacked any flavor. The chicken marsala was over cooked & portion was small. Mushrooms were chewy & the sauce was just ok. The entree came with a side of pasta so I chose angel hair. It came out smothered in marinara sauce. I didn't even try it because I personally don't want to eat pasta covered in a red sauce along with chicken marsala, it was just weird in my opinion. The bread did not seem homemade & was just ok. Typical shaker of "parmesan" on the table, not freshly grated. If you're looking for an inexpensive, casual place to grab some pasta this might be your go to. Amazing place. Come hungry because you won't leave that way. You are greeted with fresh baked butter bread. And a large menu. I always get the same few things because everything is so good I can't get away from them. Clam sauce pasta absolutely the best item 2nd in my opinion the seafood Alfredo i know it's not real crab or anything but the shrimp and scallops make up for it super tasty. And hands down the best honey mustard wings around I always get a order of that. It's a nice casual environment with friendly staff that really take care of you. Went tubing at Punderson and ordered pizza to go. Best pizza around, hands down. We will be ordering again soon.

We had a group of about 35 people and we were their separate back room just for our group. As we all know, taking care of that big of a group and constantly refilling drinks etc.. is a lot of work! But the 2 servers did a fantastic job!! Katie and another server ( I am so sorry I do not remember her name ), were efficient but also friendly. They tried to fulfill special requests but never seemed overly stressed about it . Everyone enjoyed the food...So really we have to give a shout out to the kitchen! We didn't have to wait forever for everything to be ready... the food was served hot and fast and we all got our food at the same time! Bravo! read more

At first glance I noticed the dirty vent in the entrance then saw loose wires over the cash register where a fluorescent light used to be. the wires were capped off but make you wonder. We stopped by for the tiramisu,which we enjoyed.Looking over the menu we ordered clam chowder, pasta with clam sauce and a small deluxe pizza. We took the food home and ate it later in the evening.The service was top notch,everything we ordered was delicious (even reheated).The interior was a bit rough, having torn cushions on the booth and many lights burned out on the ceiling fans. They start you off with some fresh warm bread with melted butter and garlic on it. Fabulous! This last time, I had lasagna for lunch. Perfect meat and cheese with their "marinara" sauce, i just call tomato sauce because it is a smooth, flavorful sauce, not chunky. This is how I like my sauce. Way too much, so I brought leftovers home to my husband, who missed out on the bread. Sorry, not sorry. He would have liked more cheese. But he LOVES his cheese. I thought it was perfect the way it is. Also there was a meatball on top. Never see that anywhere else. Good meatball for a restaurant. I am partial because i love my own meatballs. Stopped in yesterday afternoon on our way to Punderson State Manor. Found it on Yelp! Very happy with the find! The staff were all very personable and friendly! It is has a quaint Italian atmosphere. They do have beer and wine available, as well as sodas and other non-alcoholic beverages. We opted for a light lunch accompanied with wine. We ordered their 12 inch pizza with all meat and black olives, as well as an order of 10 wings in their mild sauce. Their mild sauce proved to be a little bit much for my wife, so I enjoyed the wings as well as half of the pizza. Speaking of the pizza it was absolutely delicious! The crust was yummy and the toppings terrific! If we ever find ourselves in the area again, I'm pretty sure will try stopping in! Keep up the great work! read more

Visited recently with my brothers started w Fried Ravioli, very good...two of us had the Chicken Parmesan lunch portion - extremely good pasta sauce & spaghetti, & chicken very tender, tasty...- my brother had a slice of their pizza which he loved, delicious, and my other brother had Philly Steak sandwich and that also was very good he said. Ordered two Cannolis to go for family and said they ate it up and was delicious. I love this place even though it's a little far out for me if I ever get a chance to go to that area, I try to stop by here. Also great service and cozy atmosphere. Over two years ago, I commented on how the worn decor resulted in a deduction of one star from a five star rating. Today I am deducting a second star for uncleanliness. I understand many businesses are still struggling to recoup their losses from the pandemic. But it wouldn't take much more than dedication and effort for management/ownership to make some corrections. Water stains on the wall, peeling paint on the ceiling, dirt on the ceiling from the HVAC system airflow, dirty cabinets, and filthy carpet. I've long subscribed to the theory that if a business doesn't give a damn about what the customer can see, they don't give a damn about what the customer can't see, e.g. the kitchen, walk-in coolers, food prep & handling, & other sanitary practices or health code requirements. As my dear departed grandmother used to say, "Soap & water aren't expensive so being poor is no excuse for being dirty." Mangia! Mangia! - You are long overdue for a deep cleaning! read more

Busy, local and family owned. We had reservations for a party of 5 to celebrate a birthday...but they lost our reservation. We waited a few extra minutes while they reworked the tables and were sat, where we sat. I don't know if the hostess didn't tell the server we were there or she just forgot about us...I tend to think she forgot about us because it happened multiple times during our dinner. We were sat in a back room. There were five tables and about 60 people crammed in this fairly small space. I get it your busy, everyone is out on a Saturday night in Newbury, but tight quarters was an understatement. Once we placed our order, drinks, appetizers and entrees the waiting started again. We were approached by multiple servers asking if we had ordered if we needed anything, our server was nowhere to be found. The food was okay, pasta was bland, the mussels were dry and chewy, even the salad was blah, but the pizza and garlic bread were were great. I should have went with a few of the other reviews, unless your local you are rushed out or left to your own demise of what has the potential to be a decent restaurant. read more

This is a salad ordered and picked up 11/18/29 and taken to a family member's home for dinner. It was one of 3 salads purchased. We chose to discard the other salads for fear of finding more of these insects. The insect is a "cucumber bug" found in lettuce. I called the restaurant and spoke to a woman who told me there are no cucumbers in their salads. I sent her the photo and she told me the manager would be contacting me. To-date, no contact has been made. I can only assume that this is a known issue and one that is not taken very seriously.
