    Chicken French
    Alyssa H.

Got the Chicken French and the Italian Wedding Soup to go. The chicken was breaded perfectly and seasoned with light Parmesan cheese on top which was a nice addition to this Rochester classic dish. It tasted very good, though had a unique flavor with a stronger wine base than I'm used to. The portion size was also a bit small (the food in the photo had not yet been eaten out of). The soup was very good, I would recommend. I would recommend the clam chowder as well.

    Veal Parmesan Dinner

I stopped for dinner last night. The place was packed. I sat over at a cozy corner table on a cold night. I got the Autumn Sangria- Apple Cider, Cranberry Juice, Triple Sec & Red Wine and lots of Fruits(Cranberries, Oranges and Apples. Very good. Veal Parmesan Dinner with Angel Hair and a Cup of Tomato Basil Soup., hearty! The Veal was tender. Service was friendly and attentive.

Fish fry with cold slaw and fries

Ordered dinner last night for take out...fish fry dinner and Southern Fried Chicken sandwich with cup of soup (Italian Wedding). I showed up a few minutes earlier from the pickup time given, the restaurant was completely full with patrons waiting for tables. I took that for a good sign, as this restaurant has changed hands from the previous owner. The food was hot upon delivery...once home I open the fish dinner and took a small bite of the fish. The crust was very tasty and the fish was hot and flaky, the fries were crispy and the cold slaw was some of the best I've had from a restaurant; cold slaw is always hit or miss but this was fresh cabbage diced up with a light dressing, and you could actually taste the cabbage. It was a very satisfying meal to say the least. My wife enjoyed her chicken sandwich and said her soup (Italian Wedding) was very good and hot.

    Garlic parm wings

Still satisfied! Second visit here we tried the pizza and wings. Those r some very attractive wings! Oh my! All were pretty large, very juicy inside and generously seasoned. The picture speaks for itself, they're beautiful (as well as tasty). Their presentation is fun, it's on a wax paper newsprint on a wooden base. They have several 'fancy' pizzas to choose from with fresh ingrediants like basil and fresh sliced tomato. They also have your normal cheese with pepperoni. Their garlic sauce was extra yummy. But their red sauce is also really good. Basically in an ideal world u come with lots of people and share all the yummy foods. They have quite the selection, it's hard to choose since it's all good!

This is my first time trying Mangia Mangia since they moved into the new building. The fish fry sign has been taunting me. I ordered online at about 630 and when I paid it told me that the food wouldn't be ready until after eight. That was annoying; I wish that it had told me the anticipated wait time before I paid. They were busy when I got there and a couple of orders had gotten mixed up so folks seemed a little stressed back there. The guy in front of me was irritated that he had been waiting so long. However, my food came out at almost the exact time the app told me it would be ready. The coleslaw is super sweet which I really liked. Turns out it has pineapple in it. Who knew that was a thing?! Not me. The fish fry was humongous And needed a lot of salt. Granted, I'm used to a lot of salt but the fish didn't have a lot of flavor. I enjoyed the buffalo wings which could have used a little more sauce (and i think they were a little pricey but I gotta check that). I'll definitely get those again either way cuz I'm a wing fiend and they are close and maybe try a burger next time.

    Ahi Tuna Salad
    Karen M.

8/11/2021 This salad has to be the best Ahi Tuna that I've ever had. I live in Southern California where everyone serves this. Was absolutely the freshest. Greens, berries (4 kinds), large serving of tuna. Dressing was a great, subtle addition. I'll be back!

Fish fries are like very small. Prices are high. Customer service is poor. Check your order!

My son enjoyed his Connecticut roll. I had the California lobster roll with avocado and wasabi crema. So good. They come with house made chips seasoned with Old Bay. Very good. Not greasy. Next time I want to try the lobster tots. They have a cooler with soda, beer, and wine minis, as well as a slushy machine. Service is fast and friendly. Lots of outdoor seating. The location at Olcott Beach is great. It's right by a small ferris wheel, and in walking distance to the shops, beach, carousel park, and Krull Park. A great addition to the town.

Well I'm happy to say that I was not deceived, these were fresh and of good size ( we got the sampler). I was most impressed by Connecticut roll and the Fire roll, the New England wasnt bad just didnt hit as hard as that buttery or spicy taste. The kids tenders and tots, the little yelper crushed those and left super happy. The only meh thing for me was the clam chowder, I love a thick chowder and the misses loved this one because it wasn't. We agreed to disagree on this. But absolutely great experience overall and we are looking forward to visiting the new Lewiston spot next.

First these 2 stars really must be put in context relative to the price, if we were paying burger…read moreKing prices this would be three stars easy. Crusty rolls? No, spongy bagged rolls. French onion soup wasn't bad, too much Worcestershire and bread, but cheese crust was nicely broiled. Clams casino dressing had good flavor but almost a liquid texture under the broiled layer. The prime chateaubriand was not carved table side as per the website, was sliced very thin and put on a metal platter, arriving at the table evenly gray brown (ordered medium doneness). Luckily it was only well done on one side of the thin piece, likely because they did not roast or charbroil the beef to order but sliced it off a larger pre cooked piece and then reheated it, so one side of a very thin slice is well done the other is medium, also definitely not 18oz per the paper menu. Side of sauteed onions had zero color or salt. The roasted broccoli, mushrooms and cauliflower were good, only slightly overcooked. The tiniest baked potato was good as long as you don't want like a steakhouse experience with crisp salty skin, this was more mushy, wet and without salt. The scallops were very slightly undercooked, minor point. The soft drinks are served nice and warm in the can with a small glass of ice that instantly melts so you get one glass of watery pepsi and chase it with a nice warm glass. Want sour cream with your potato, they got plenty of warm single serve plastic daisy packets which is nice. The carrot cake wasn't bad. Chocolate Ganache cake was okay understanding the base chocolate used for the ganache was either old or just of poor quality, the chocolate sauce was plain Hershey syrup. Staff were neutral, not bad, bur definitely not offering to refill empty drinks. Ambiance was gorgeous! Parking has was plentiful with easy access. So if you like a very cozy and intimate atmosphere with rewarmed beef, warm canned pepsi products, warm plastic packets of sour cream and a have strong fear of salt and baking potatoes larger than your index finger, give The Johnson House a try!
