Usually order plates from Spencerport Hots, and they are always better than other locations in the area. Tonight we opted for a lighter fare and ordered wraps. We were pretty disappointed in what we received as most of the meal was a wrap and minimal filling. Certainly not a $25 order of food. First, I want to say, I'm a Rochester native, I live in Washington state now, for the past 26 years and I can honestly say I never knew how great the diversity of food was in western New York until I moved to my area in Washington. Mexican food? Check. Teriyaki? Check. For me, it's pretty much what there is. So it's nice to go home, I grew up about a mile down the road from Spencerport Hots, back then, it was the pharmacy. I go home once a year, so I'm not able to get to Spencerport Hots more than that. I know I can consistently go there and get an excellent plate, burgers, dogs, or sausages, I'd be happy just about every time. The inside of Spencerport Hots is custom-made for Spencerport celebrating Spencerport high, and especially football. The inside in Spencerport Hots, is proudly painted in Spencerport colors and, is openly celebrated, which I absolutely love, you can always count on the game being on as well as the staff being on point every visit! Spencerport hots has worked its way to my agenda every single time I'm home! Which brings me to the only disappointing experience that I've ever had there. In my pictures are some great examples from my last couple visits! Burger and sausage plates are my preference. Typically getting french fries, or tots and Mac salad as my sides. On my recent visit, I decided to get some macaroni and cheese. Now, as I've said, there are several plates that I go to every visit. And I'm happy every single time. But, I don't know what the deal was with this macaroni and cheese. Maybe they ran out of supplies to make good stuff? Or, this was really their macaroni and cheese. I think I would be hard-pressed to say this was anything other than Kraft, or an equivalent store brand right out of the box. Say, I was disappointed in this macaroni and cheese, this is the only thing I've ever had there that wasn't great. This place really does matter to me, so I hope someone will read this and let me know if the macaroni and cheese I had that day was really what they offer as their macaroni and cheese. I did have Spencerport hots as a,full 5 star review... but this macaroni and cheese side either needs to have its game, upgraded severely, or may be taken off the menu. The service is very pleasing, the cashiers are so welcoming and have such calm and fun personalities. The ambiance/atmosphere is so quiet and very hometown like but very bright for my liking. These guys have some of the best food in Rochester and definitely in the Village of Spencerport. Their garbage plates are my favorite ever - which makes sense since they carry the "Best Plate" and "Best Meat Hot Sauce" titles in Rochester (a Rochester specialty). The burgers are perfect size (appear to be 1/3 lb.) and high quality unlike some of the cheap stuff you get around town. The steak sandwiches, tacos, burritos, breakfast sandwich, hot dog creations, salads, and milkshakes are my other favorites. Stopped ordering from here a few months ago due to a decline in food quality like receiving brown lettuce in my wraps. We decided to give it another shot and of course, I was disappointed again. I ordered waffle fries and they were so overcooked they were disgusting. I also ordered a wrap with dressing on the side. Of course they forgot the side of dressing and of course the lettuce on my dry wrap was brown. Done with this place for good. read more

Went here for the first time and we decided to order something simple, two cheeseburgers and an order of onion rings. I'm sure they are more well-known for their hots but I don't think they sell any beef only hotdogs. I'll have to take a closer look at the menu- there is a good amount of stuff on it.The burgers were flavorful, The meat was cooked how we like it- we got regular buns and they got a bit damp at the end. Not totally soggy but they were getting a little wet. The onion rings were really tasty however we wish the serving size was bigger for the price. Four stars for the flavor, the burgers were good but nothing extraordinary. Our favorite item was the onion rings but again we wish there was more in the serving size. read more

I stopped in to Spencerport Hots the last time I was in the area because I was craving a garbage plate. I went at an off time (around 3 PM) so there wasn't a line to order. I got a hot dog plate with everything on it and it was around $10. It's not hard to mess up a plate, but it can be done. This one was classic and delicious. The interior of the restaurant screams Spencerport! Tons of blue and gold, photos of school teams, even a giant Ranger bear. I bet this is a popular place for students during lunch/after school. I'm very annoyed with the customer service at this restaurant. The staff was extremely nice but the menu was misleading. My son order chips and cheese. The cheese was half full in the tiny cups they give you and the chips were stale. I ordered a hot dog plate she kept offering me all these different toppings and hot dogs. I didn't realize everything she offered me was gonna cost me extra. Me being new to the establishment she should have informed me but she didn't . when I got home and saw my receipt I was so mad $15 for an $11.99 plate. I called back to tell a manager about my experience. They pretty much was like it's on the menu. I will not go back to this restaurant ever again which is to bad. But when you pay a lot of money for take out you expect to get what you paid for not half. I would have offer something for the terrible service at least. read more

I got a Cheeseburger plate, which seemed for the most part to be a standard plate for Rochester. However, I got takeout and was disappointed to find there was no meat sauce on my plate when I got home. I wasn't sure if it was my fault when I asked for only ketchup and mustard (as I didn't want onions) or if it was just missed on accident. You can find a plethora of places in the Rochester area to get burgers, hot dogs, or plates and not also get COVID or some other flu or virus. Employees not wearing masks, patrons not wearing masks, nor requesting proof of vaccination. Employees also not wearing gloves or using otherwise non-pandemic related sanitary precautions when handling and preparing food. As soon as I walked in, I felt like I was in the live version of my own high school yearbook, with the Spencerport blue and gold, ranger-themed everything, Spencerport Hots nailed the hometown pride better than your local Applebees tries to do. The seating is nice, which long booth tables, and then some normal tables and chairs. This would be a great place to hangout if you were coming with a solid group, or if you are a teenager. The menu on the wall was huge, and even had some things I wouldn't have expected, like scallops for example. *Making food allergy people aware to ask for things to be cooked on a separate grill or pan. I was popping in here because I wanted something to tide me over before an event. I got the loaded fries and a coke, and it was a tidge over $6. The fries had bacon and processed cheese on them. I liked the actual krinkle cut fries, but I think the normal ones would have been better without the cheese on the top. My friend got the avocado spinach salad. The salad looked good, but the mushrooms on it lived a better life previously. I would probably stick to the burgers. They have bottled bevs and a fountain drink machine. The fountain sodas weren't very carbonated. I did see a worker cleaning the machines though, and the counters. That is a plus. The bathrooms were clean too. The food was reasonably priced, and came out fast. They ask for your name, and then when it is done they just call it out. I am hoping this business does better than the other diners that have had a fast turnover rate in this spot, and that the hometown feel makes it last. Absolutely disappointed with this place! I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and a side of Mac n cheese. STAY CLEAR OF MAC as it was Kraft but worse. So here's the thing. I went there opening week and yes, there was a wait. A long wait. Much longer than you're accustomed to for this type of food. And in the interest of full disclosure I'm a Spencerport resident and have been looking forward to the opening of this establishment so I may be biased. Having said that the food was great. The fact that there were service delays only accentuates the point that this area was sorely in need for a place like this. You can't turn your head without seeing a pizza shop in Spencerport but finally you can get a proper burger. We've been eagerly awaiting this place! Spencerport Hots is finally here and if the grand opening is any indication, it will be very successful. My family and I have been there twice in three days. Not only is the food excellent , but the owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. The menu is well thought out and has something for everyone. I look forward to working my way through it! I can say that the burgers, fries, mac salad, and grilled cheese plates are excellent. We love the Spencerport Rangers themed decor, especially the photo wall of Spencerport students.
