I came here for an event, so my review is based only on the service, food, and drinks. As we entered the private room, we were offered wine. I had their cabernet sauvignon and it was delicious. The bread was excellent. The crust almost reminded me of a salted pretzel. The chicken meatballs were flavorful. Calamari was ok. For the 2 pastas that I got to try, the spicy rigatoni was good. Chicken vesuvio was tasty and moist. For the grand finale we had cheesecake and tiramisu. Service was excellent. Park in the orange garage as that is the closest to the restaurant. A little difficult to find, as you cannot see the restaurant from the parking lot. There were no signs to guide you either but we figured it out pretty well. Once we arrived, the hostess could not have been more sweet. She was all smiles and was very welcoming. Our server was just as pleasant. She remembered my friend from previous visits. The room is very comfortable. Dark with a lot of natural tones that create the perfect backdrop for a lovely meal. A couple requests were missed by the bar and kitchen, however our cocktails and meals were still delicious. We loved everything. The menu is interesting and inviting. We started with the parmesan artichokes. Crunchy and satisfying, with nice pieces throughout, but a bit shy on flavor. It felt like it almost got to the party but stopped just outside the door. For mains, everyone genuinely enjoyed their dishes. I had the gnocchi della casa with porcini ragù. The gnocchi were soft, light, and pillowy, though just a touch dense and missing that subtle potato flavor that makes you close your eyes for a second. Not quite at the level of my mom's or grandma's (but let's be honest, nothing ever is). The mushroom sauce was tasty, though it leaned slightly vinegary. The pistachio-crusted whitefish was a standout. Perfectly crisp on the outside, flaky and tender on the inside. Definitely a win. The risotto of the day was creamy and comforting, but it felt like it was missing that little spark, that "something" that takes it from good to memorable. Drinks were a highlight. The Sicilian Negroni and Fields of Tuscany were both well-crafted and delicious. No notes there. For the price, it's a solid spot and worth experiencing at least once. This is one of my favorite restaurants. Our server was a little absent minded and they were slow bringing the bread but it was worth the wait . The desert that I loved is gone and replaced with an olive oil cake that's delicious. They have delicious roasted coffee and the food was good but the scallops were a little salty . Minestrone was tasty just needed more beans . The cheese ravioli was definitely homemade and my mocktail was delicious. I love the ambience here . I came across Antico Posto during a visit to Oak Brook Center and I was pleasantly surprised. It was warmer outside when I visited so they were able to seat us in a covered patio area. The inside of the restaurant is large. The restaurant was busy during my visit but they still had ample seating available. My wait time wasn't that long but I would expect you'd have a longer wait for a larger party vs my two party. Anytime I go to an Italian restaurant I always try the chicken parmigiana because this is typically a staple item and they're less likely to mess it up. Antico didn't disappoint with their chicken parmigiana! The chicken was well seasoned and the sauce was flavorful. I was easily able to get two meals from my order so it's priced reasonably. Not a great trend to this place on the last couple visits. This time literally every item was over cooked. The linguini here is weird and eggy and was totally mushy and stuck together. Shrimp were rubbery mess. Gnocchi were mush balls and the lamb risotto was super fatty and risotto also way over cooked. Adding this updated review as it's been quite a few years. And over the years I have consistently come back to this restaurant because first the menu is always changing and to the quality has truly been consistent. The only thing that's been inconsistent with all the numerous visits over the years has been the service, which is really what's holding me back from full five stars. For example, when I speak about service, I have been here multiple times for lunches and for dinners and depend, depending on the waiter that you get, someone will actually pack your food for you. Some will just simply bring you your box. Or someone will give you the option. So this is an inconsistent practice amongst the staff, which clearly tells me that there is some type of inconsistency in the training and expect expectations set by the lettuce entertainment group. What is also keeping me back from a five stars is that at least 3 to 4 years after Covid the lettuce group and the melman's continue to keep the 3% surcharge on the bill and then require you as a consumer to request to remove it. I hope everyone realizes that the 3% surcharge does not go to your weight staff's pocket in any way shape or form. It goes back to the Melmans only. LOVE!! A great spot for a very enjoyable meal. My husband and I stopped in for lunch and decided to take advantage of the perfect weather and Antico Posto's outdoor patio. I did peak inside and it is dim giving off a great setting for a cozy date night. Service throughout was excellent and timed out well. Within minutes of being seated waters brought over along with table bread and a parm and olive oil spread. There's a QR code on each table allowing guests to pay the bill once they are ready to check out. This makes it convenient for anyone who is there for a quick meal or just ready to get their shop on. We shared the fried calamari and angel hair pomodoro pasta. The calamari was overcooked but it was still pretty good. The pasta was delicious, noodles were cooked perfectly and I love how they use fresh mozzarella in this dish. All the flavors went well together. We ordered the chicken parmesan; the chicken was crispy, juicy, and flavorful. The marinara sauce had a good tomato flavor and paired so well with the chicken. The hot honey pizza was lovely as well; I loved how it had a hint of sweetness from the honey but a kick as well. I originally came for the bread service, and it did not disappoint! The bread was fresh and airy, and it was a match made in heaven with the oil/giardinera. The service was perfect; our waitress was so sweet, and she made sure to check in on us even though it was busy. The ambiance was beautiful. My mom and I decided to take a trip to Oakbrook for a little shopping, and we stumbled upon this restaurant -- we're so glad we did! We decided to give it a try for lunch, and it completely exceeded our expectations. I had the Antico Fashioned to drink. I like it a little sweeter, but it was still good. I had the chicken picatta. The chicken was tender and the sauce buttery with capers that add just the right amount of saltiness. It came with some thin spaghetti with olive oil, but I used the spare sauce on it. My friend had the chicken parmesan and said it was really good, but she had to take half home as the portion was pretty large. Another friend had the Cavatelli with sausage and also had to get a take-away box. Our server was spectacular! I forgot his name, but he told us he had worked there for 27 years. That kind of employee retention speaks volumes about the establishment. He was always there if we needed something, but not intrusive. The place was really busy (Friday night) but it wasn't overly noisy. We had no trouble having conversation. Perfect ambiance for date night, girls night, a family meal or a celebration. Love the outdoor patio in the summer time. Standouts today for a girl friend's birthday dinner were the truffled whipped ricotta, burratta caprese, cranberry spiced sangria, tiramisu and complementary bread and oil starter (that marinated oil is SO good). Had spicy vodka pasta for my entree but found the sauce to be underwhelming, I think the eggplant parm would've been a better pick. I'll have to try that the next time I visit. Parking is easy in the garage right next to the restaurant. Reservation is easy through OpenTable. Service was great. After a grueling day of shopping at the mall, Antics was a welcome end for an excellent dinner. The wait was over an hour and we were lucky enough to get 2 seats at the small bar. The service was excellent and the bartender had excellent recommendations for both food and wine pairing. The truffle beef medallions and angel hair chicken picatta were very good. The bread? Pretty amazing. We ended with one of the best tiramasu desserts we've ever had. As a stand alone, Antico is worth the slightly higher prices for the area. Delish. We shared the whipped ricotta with honey. The flat bread that came with the ricotta was a little hard. They specialize in gnocchi which they make out of ricotta so its lighter. Got the gnocchi porcini ragu which is made with a brown butter sauce and mushrooms. Light and good portions. For dessert, we got the gelato flavor of that day which was butter pecan to go. The paired dip with pickled veggies, vinegar, and oil is also delicious. For happy hour, the chicken meatballs and burrata were okay, but the main dishes blew me away. The porcini ragu was rich, decadent, and packed with mushroom flavor I simply could not get enough of (though the gnocchi was a bit dry). After receiving a couple of Lettuce Entertain You gift cards over the past few years, Friday night felt like the perfect time to pool them together and splurge on dinner at Antico Posto. We made reservations through OpenTable and read plenty of reviews, so I thought I was well prepared for directions and parking. Google Maps, however, didn't quite do the restaurant justice--we ended up at the mall without ever spotting it. A quick call to the restaurant and their recorded directions saved the day. The key is parking in the Orange Garage (look for the "P" in the orange circle), then navigating to the office building off the circular drive behind both the garage and The Container Store. At -8 degrees, I don't exactly recommend that adventure--LOL. Despite arriving a bit late (thanks, winter), the restaurant was still packed at 7:30 p.m., with several parties waiting. Thankfully, people were finishing up, and our wait was only about 10-15 minutes. Once seated, water was served promptly and we were greeted by our waitress shortly after. She was clearly busy but remained warm, focused, and welcoming, taking time to explain the menu. Speaking of menus--there were four of them! Turns out it was Restaurant Week, which explained the extra options. We started with drinks and an order of calamari. Both drinks were well made, and the calamari was served with arugula--an unexpected pairing that worked surprisingly well, balancing the dish nicely. For starters, I ordered a side salad while V chose the Italian meatballs as part of his three-plate Restaurant Week flight. The side salad was honestly one of the best I've had anywhere: mixed greens, shaved cheese, heirloom-style cherry tomatoes, and a bright, flavorful vinaigrette. The meatballs were equally impressive--light, tender, and packed with flavor. Our entrées were shrimp linguine for me and crusted whitefish for V. I love the crusty bread served with the olive oil dip filled with olives, cheese, and marinated eggplant. Our servers have been friendly and welcoming. They are quick to refill are glasses when we're low on water. The ambiance is casual and comfortable. Sometimes service is slow, and our salads have been forgotten. We got shot down at Wildfire then walked around a bit further and ran into this place. I don't know why I just don't think of it. It's a hidden gem! Everything is just wonderful! The bread they bring out with the olives and oil plate was very nice. Hubby got a sausage pizza made in their brick oven. Which he loved! Everytime I've come out to Antico Posto for lunch it feels like I'm coming home to the cooking of the Italian Nonna I wish I had in my life - the pasta is freshly made everyday, the sauces are fresh, and their seasonal raviolis will have you sending pictures with emojis of chef kisses to your friends.
