I went to the gym with my buddy around this area and decided to stop by Manginos because I saw they had a Latino menu on their windows till so I had to check it out. The place was empty but that did not discourage us to try their food; they did have music playing so it was not utterly quiet. I believe this may be a family- owned business if I'm not mistaken. Basically you have to order at the cash register and they will bring out the food to your table, we ordered two steak and eggs which came with two tortillas, rice, salad, and frijoles Fritos. The amicable lady said it would only take 7 mins for the food to be ready and yes indeed it took exactly that time! We both enjoyed the steak, it was cooked well done and served a generous portion too, it had us both full for the rest of the day! We like our eggs "medio cocinado" (over easy) and it paired well to dip with the steamy, fresh tortilla. Next sub had lettuce and a few onions and 1 little tomato on each half. Got the American cheese right, but wasn't much of it. So I tried calling and the line was busy so I figured I'll just go and place it in person. But the woman gave it to another person in front of me saying it was a DoorDash order obviously I didn't know it was mine until I asked her where my order was and upon telling me she gave it to the person prior I was confused. I'm not sure if they confirmed the order but it didn't look like it and basically because of their negligence to confirm the order to the person who was "picking up" I lost 40$ for decent pizza. I ordered a Gyro with extra meat and a pizza from Mangino's through slice. The food was extremely cold, which I pointed out to the driver. I don't believe it was his fault. I had to put the food in an air fryer. The worst part is I paid for extra Gyro meat as I always do. However, I did not get extra meat. I took pictures. When I called the store, I was told by the lady answering the phone, that there is a difference from when I ordered extra meat in the store versus when I order extra meat online. That is ridiculous! There should be no difference as what I told her. I paid for extra meat I should've gotten an extra meat regardless of whether I came into the store as I often do versus when I order in line, which I also do. The bottom line is your coop did not read the ticket and did not add extra meat, so I paid for something that I did not get. There was no apology. There was no offer to reimburse me. I had Manginos for the first time tonight. It was a cheese pizza with Sausage for National Sausage Pizza Day today. It was so good. The sauce was tangy, and a bit spicy in the best way possible. The cheese was spread out so evenly, the sausage was well cooked, and the crust had a pretty good texture as well. I found out about this place from the MoCo Show's website, and I'm not disappointed, anything but. I choose Manginos over national chains any day. I typically get the New Yorker with two toppings (pepperoni and extra cheese) for $12.99 and they have never let me down. When I have out-of-towners visit, they too enjoy the taste of the pizza. I live in Gaithersburg, so I literally drive past several pizza places to specifically go there. There is just something about the taste. The crust isn't too thick and the slices are huge and foldable. UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP I stopped going to the old location because the previous owner was rude to his employees and other customers. Everytime he was there, he would be barking at the employees or on the phone. Also while the food was good the unsanitary cramped place was not (Gas station location). This past week I got a craving for a greasy cheesesteak combo. When I entered, the menu was essentially the same as before (good deals on pickup etc). I asked what happened to the lunch combo, and the new owner introduced himself and told me he would make it right and match the previous deal. Yes, it is a gas station. I generally make a rule of not eating in gas stations, other than the occasional sandwich from Flying-J's. However, Mangino's will be my regular exception to this rule. My husband and I tried this place after reading other Yelp reviews for pizza in the Gaithersburg/Germantown area. I was craving a New York or artisan style pizza (basically not Papa Johns, Pizza Hut, etc.), and found just what I was looking for here. We got an XL with sausage and onions, and it was awesome and thin and delicious. In fact, what made me remember to review this place is the fact that we are going back there tonight to pick up another pizza! We're also going to try one of their hot subs. Tried the wings last time, and was not in love, so I won't waste my calories there. Even though they do not advertise it on their website, they do have delivery as well as take-out at this location. Absolutely terrible. Ordered at 2:15 didn't come here till 4:05. Ordered cheese fries regular fries a large pizza and steak and cheese. The pizza is disgusting my kids and dog won't even eat it. The steak and cheese is ok but they over charged my Card almost an extra $10 We called twice asking where our pizza was and he kept saying 10 more minutes. We live 1.1 miles away from here. Randomly decided to try this place out after stoping to get gas. I saw that they had a vegetarian section on their menu and it peaked my interest. I got the vegetarian Greek pita. It was pretty delicious. Definitely by no means light and healthy. Grilled mushrooms, onions, and green peppers instead of the meat that they normally put inside. For a vegetarian craving a semi-unhealthy meatless gyro type thing, this place is perfect. The people working there were friendly, and there was no line when I went around 130 pm on a Wednesday. Got take out from here this weekend. Signs that this is not NY style pizza - 1) Pizza is baked on a conveyor rack and not a Bakers Pride or similar oven. As a result, the pizza has a squishy texture to it and doesn't have the firm crust NY style pizza should have. 2) Got the 2 slices and a soda special and when I opened the box up, the slices were stacked on top of each other. I'm not Tony Manero in SNF and eat my slices one at a time. 3) I was so hungry that I forgot to take a picture of the pizza but the slices had absolutely no resemblance to NY style pizza. The pizza definitely does NOT taste as good as before. There are now 3 different sizes, so if you order a large, expect a medium size pizza. The toppings are sparse and the sauce taste terrible. First off, for those who have lived/worked in Germantown for a while and are only now discovering this place, Mangino's is co-located inside the Washingtonian Express convenience store and gas station at the NW corner of Germantown Road (MD 118) and Frederick Road (MD 355). If it were not for the advice of Yelpers, I may have never noticed that Mangino's serves up pretty darn good pizza and subs here. Today was my second trip there, as I had a hankering for a Chicken Parm sub and was at a loss for where else to find one. Then I recalled Mangino's and off I went. While not quite the best version of this sandwich I've ever had, it was made to order and served up crunchy and hot. The sauce at Mangino's is one of their best attributes -- not too sweet and not too spicy. And that's what made this sub worthwhile. I'd go back and do it again when the craving returns. As for pizza, I've had a slice on both visits and concur that it is one of the best tasting pizzas in the G-town area. Though I've yet to order a full pie, fresh from the oven. So I'll reserve my final judgment until that happens. BTW, while Mangino's is positioned for takeout, there are two small tables for four ppl along the windows ... and the courteous owner keeps them nice and clean. While the website does not show a menu for the Germantown location, they do offer the full menu as attached to the other regional Mangino's locations. As a native New Yorker, my efforts to find good pizza here in Maryland has been a relatively painful process, and has often been met with failure. In my travels outside of NY over the last decade, I have learned that any place outside of New York which claims to sell "New York style" pizza is typically a trainwreck. Having said that, Manginos was pretty decent. It wasn't fantastic, and I wouldn't say that it's particularly representative of true New York style pizza, but I wasn't considering committing seppuku after having tried it. So far, it's among the better pizzas that I've had here since relocating to Maryland, and is one of the few that I would say are actually better than the shitty chains. I wouldn't be opposed to ordering from Manginos again, especially since delivery was pretty quick and the pizza was still hot when it got here. read more

So, I was born in Queens, NY and I have my own share of "amazing pizza" stories. I moved to the area in '09, and Mangino's was considered a "hidden gem" for local NY style pizza from, of all places, a gas station. Tried them once; they were good, but not enough to drive the distance to get. Fast forward to '19, and they are not in Lotte Plaza off Wisteria, which is much closer, AND they have a store front now. I got the 2 slice + soda for $5 and change. The pizza was pretty good on its own, no complaints there. The best one in the area? Maybe, although I've learned to lever from Milano's over the years. Quality + price makes this a win, however. The manager/owner was very nice, and perfectly accommodating (I did not see the off behavior someone else mentioned). While not the best in my entire life, I'll say it's the best bang for buck in the area. I'll definitely drop by for a cheap lunch again. :) read more

My boyfriend and I loved Mangino's when they were part of the Liberty gas station off 118. They got booted out, however, and had to set up a new brick & mortar in the Lotte center (next to Planet Fitness). I was thrilled when we "refound" them. So much so that I ask them to deliver for a lunch party I was having at work, and while it was slightly out of their delivery area, they agreed. Big kudos to them there. At any rate, I can only rate their pizza, which is the most realistic NY style pie in the area. Wings are good, salads are good, but the pizza is awesome, pure and simple.
