Soul and R And B pumping through the speakers. The order: I did a "do it yourself burger" but there was plenty of titled burgers to praise and consumer. The burger was cooked perfectly. Juicy and a hint of salt. The bun, fresh brioche-sweet and buttery. A nice selection of additives. I added avocado, lettuce, and grilled onions. I also ordered a vanilla milkshake. Well done shake. I ordered the Hot Mess and asked for the Mac & cheese and onion to be on the side. I wanted to try a bite with the Mac & cheese before committing to the whole burger. Unfortunately I was underwhelmed. The burger didn't have as much flavor as I have had in the past and the Mac & cheese was just noodles. I was expecting cheesier baked Mac & cheese. And I think there might have been some spicy kick to them too. I picked up my order and ate it a little later, but the sweet potato waffle fries were also not satisfying as they were really limp and soft. A few pieces were crispy so that makes me think it's how they were cooked and not because of the delay in eating them. Upon ordering, I first said, I'd like my donation to go to the Animal Welfare League...and the cashier looked perplexed I then said Alexandria Animal Welfare League? He responded with, is that a burger? Clearly, he didn't really speak English! Frustrated, I said "never mind, I'll take a ......burger" and he promptly ordered and tallied my bill. I've been coming here for several years, so I feel that I am able to give a fair review. The food is great! I always get the turkey burger and try different combinations of toppings, sauce, and cheeses. Of course they have beef burgers and I believe they have veggie as well. I love that there are so many toppings to choose from. They also have milkshakes. The only downside about coming here is having to look for parking and it is usually pretty crowded on the weekends (small venue). First time my husband and I came here we enjoyed our food but felt like things could have been better. He got a burger off their menu and I did a build your own with fried chicken. Both of our burgers were WAY over sauced. I only asked for mayo and ketchup on my sandwich yet sauce was dripping out. It completely soaked the chicken ruining the crispy coating. My husband's burger came with cream cheese and there was truly and inch thick glob of cream cheese on the bun. Even with more then half removed it was way too much. The flavors were very good though so we decided to give Holy Cow another try and got a sandwich (with no sauce) to go. Dressing the sandwich myself was the way to go and I really enjoyed what I got! After finishing my sandwich I went to enjoy my fries and dumped the container out onto a plate and was disgusted to see a piece of hair wrapped around one of the fries that was at the bottom of the container.
