    Aculpolco Smoothie

I popped in to Mango Crazy in Atwater at about 8:45pm on a Summer night and ordered the Acapulco smoothie. It was soooo delicious and refreshing. The fruit was super fresh and juicy. Perfect smoothie. I'll be coming in more often. This place is a hidden gem.

I used to drive to Modesto to get Mango Crazy. I'm so happy one opened in our lil town of Atwater. It's a little addicting, OK...a lot! My car auto pilots there after work. Nothing is as refreshing and delicious. The crew is super cheery and sweet! We have fun making TikToks and my kids love seeing their posts make it on their Instagram story. Their pages are so fun to follow. Their fruit is like nothing I can buy myself, so juicy and sweet. Their ceviche will blow your mind, you don't expect it to taste like mom's! You walk in thirsty and walk out refreshed! Prices are surprisingly low! Thank you for opening a store right by our house!

I am so happy Mango Crazy came to Atwater!! The vibe in the store is fun and energetic every time. Customers are always greeted and are given great customer service, My favorite thing to order would be a Tosticeviche with the chips on the side and a large agua fresca ( I am always on a look out for when they have Matcha or Toasted Coconut those are my absolute favorite)

We stopped in just before 6:00 and we're greeted by a friendly woman getting the restaurant ready for opening. We later came to find out she was an owner. She was so sweet and offered to seat us before the servers actually showed up, as they had worked a local event that day. The waitress soon came and our wonderful experience began. They have a great wine list and wine cocktails. We ordered three dishes and were pleased with the presentation and flavors. Pica-Pau - a traditional Portuguese dish with beef and spices in a delicious broth. It's served with bread for soaking up the broth. I really enjoyed this dish, especially the broth. Crostini di Mare - shrimp on crostini's with a tangy garlicky sauce on top. This was my favorite and I wouldn't hesitate to order this again. Sea Legs - octopus over a sweet potato mash. This was tasty as well and the octopus was cooked perfectly. The sweet potato mash is divine!! We also had a Caprese salad, pretty average, but nice presentation. The outdoor seating area is comfortable and so nice to people watch on the main drag. We really enjoyed ourselves and plan to go back next time we visit. The service is excellent, portions in line with tapas and atmosphere is great.

The setup itself is just weird; you have to stand outside and wait for someone to come out to seat you. When you go inside, its small and has kind of a "bar meets saddam hussein's palace" kind of vibe, there is gold everywhere in here. Not to mention its a bar that has been converted into a restaurant, its separated by the check-in desk by drapery. One good point is that all of the staff is very friendly and attentive, although I think our waitress had to cover every table in the place, which seems kind of not great for her! We started with some drinks, they were both good, no complaints there. After they came we ordered our food, we ordered them one at a time. First up was the bacon wrapped dates. These were pretty good, the bacon was cooked well and had some good crisp, it paired well with the dates and cheese inside. The walnut was kind of weird and my wife and I both thought for a second the date pit hadn't been removed. Next we got the corn empanadas, these were disappointing but not awful. The dough was cooked fine but it has absolutely no flavor, like nothing at all. The filling was also cooked ok, the corn had good texture, but similarly, had no flavor, about the only thing I could tint was a tiny bit of cilantro. Once you dip it in the sauce that comes with it, things improve, but we both felt the empanadas should be able to stand on their own. The last tapas item we got was the costillas al ajillo, these were both disappointing AND awful. They are advertised as "fall off the bone fried rib tips, garlic infused olive oil, crisp garlic chips" The only thing crispy about this was the meat itself, it was incredibly dry and had no flavor. There was a little bit of olive oil and some minced garlic, but not "crispy garlic chips". Credit where credits due they took if off the bill, but it was just incredibly bad. We finished with the chocolate flan which was quite good, no complaints there. All in all it was disappointing and I don't know that we would come back.

To start, they brought out a basket of warm corn and flour tortilla chips with salsa, refried beans, and cabbage. Everything was fresh and flavorful -- a perfect way to kick off the meal. It was loaded with tender beef, corn on the cob, potatoes, and carrots, with rice, onions, cilantro, lime, hot sauce, and tortillas on the side to build it just how you like. We said we would think about what drinks to order since they didn't have what we originally wanted and they gave us our food but never came back to ask about drinks. Best tapas I've had in the Bay for a while !…read more The inside decor is modern and chic, but the ambience just doesn't feel as nice when it's in a plaza. Regardless the food was amazing and I loved that the tapas portions were actually shareable . Normally "shareable" tapas is synonymous with I have a bite and I politely let you have a bite and the plate is empty and I'm actually sad. I had seen online that the Pulpo was this beautiful arm, not sliced . Can you believe my kids love seeing the suction cups - the more the yummier. Anyway, it was a juicy piece ! the Ensalada de Pera was also very good . It was a very textured salad with chopped macadamia nuts and golden raisins. I generally prefer the pears sliced not cubed but still this arugula salad was special and refreshing The mushrooms dip was amazing. We loved how huge this portion was, with a bunch of yummy well flavored mushrooms that seemed like they were freshly foraged from the woods. The chicken paella was delicious - one of the best paellas I've had in a while . The chicken was tender, I could've use a bit more , but still a very large dish with addictively well seasoned rice . The rice itself was just so juicy and flavorful Honestly doesn't have the ambience per se of Suspiro or the vibes of Teleforic Barcelona , but I thought the food was so much tastier ! Their service was also excellent
