Went there today for my lunch had breakfast foods since I start early in the morning. My wife ordered chorizo breakfast tacos which looked amazing. The service was good not great had to ask for refills on drink but she was very nice. My biscuits and gravy the biscuits were very firm hard around the edges and I don't really care for them that way. The temp on my biscuits and gravy was also just warm not hot. Over the holidays, my girlfriend's family wanted to dine at Jantz for a family breakfast and we were lucky enough to grab a table on Christmas Eve morning. This was my second time at Jantz, and if you are a fan of all things breakfast and brunch in the 209, this place is solid. The cafe makes delicious coffee/lattes, lots of seasonal options which were cool to see. The prices match the portion size, and honestly most meals I've gotten could've been two small meals within one. On my last visit, I got the 3-meat omelette and there was no shortage of meat. All the protein I could ever want, and tasty too. The only thing I didn't like was their breakfast potatoes. Not much flavor and needs to be crispier to me. If you are looking for something sweet, the cinnamon roll is a great choice. Overall, great for breakfast and for small and large groups. The service is always kind and friendly. They even sell their bread you can bake at home and fresh honey. To the left of the entrance is a cafe for all your coffee needs and they have quite a selection of creative lattes! Every dish has been great here. This place is perfect for large groups too, we always find ourselves coming back. They have great lunch specials where you can choose a side. My personal favorite are the Mac salad and baked beans Their beef French dip with grilled onions and tuna sour dough melt are my favorite. My only small wish was that it had a bit more jalapeño kick to really bring the heat, but I'd still order it again. I also tried the clam chowder, which was okay--not bad, just not the standout for me. For drinks, I had a matcha, and it was really good--smooth and well balanced. We also took dessert to go and got a banana pie slice, which was tasty and not overly sweet. The service was excellent. Our server told us all of their baked goods are baked at this location, which is the original location, and shipped to their other two locations in Merced and Mariposa. Ambiance: This place is a warm and cozy cafe style restaurant. Good for small and large parties. There aren't that many tables for dining in, but this place is worth the wait. Jantz is a must have for me whenever I visit my hometown! Their coffee and breakfast is always on point. I went over the weekend for a coffee date with my sister and we both loved our drinks! She got the latte with brown sugar cinnamon and oat milk and I got the cold brew (added vanilla) with a hazelnut soft top. The cafe feels like a cozy, welcoming and inviting local coffee house on the coast somewhere. The hot espresso drinks are my favorite (namely, the North Star) , and are carefully made with love and care. 2. The bakery is filled with fresh cookies, cakes, pies, cupcakes and bars. My son loves their seasonally decorated sugar cookies and I prefer their scones. Did I mention there is a freezer with pre made meals and soups, ready to conveniently pop in the oven? 3.
