I utilized yelp to find Asian cuisine in the area that had numerous and consistent positive reviews. Mango tree bistro truly lived up to the rating.The pad Thai duck was not only delicious but the portion size was plentiful. Coconut chicken soup was fresh and zesty. Great local Thai place! A variety of curry dishes but mango curry is our favorite. Many good entrees to choose from.

I discovered the Mango Tree Bistro on Yelp :) The food is delicious and inexpensive. I enjoyed fried rice and panag curry chicken. Boy was it good. The chef expertly knows how to administer different levels of spice. The restaurant is colorfully painted and decorated with authentic Thai art motif. There is plenty of parking. The service is a 9 out of 10. I look forward to dining here again. read more

Cute little date night place. Our group was in the mood for Thai and this place was not too far from us and didn't close at 8pm. There's plenty parking here which made me think there wasn't many diner inside but there was a good amount of tables filled up. We were sat quickly and then the ordering began. We got the drunken noodle w beef and shrimp as an app for us to share- lawd that was soooooooo good, didn't even need sriracha. and lemongrass soup- yummm and i got the coconut soup - warmed my soul on a cold rainy day. Two Thai coffee and teas iced. Bomb. I got the evil jungle princess- good. Bestie got the pineapple fried rice - despite having a bad pineapple allergy i risked it all and tried it. It was bomb. Bae got he salmon tamarind special it really good. Perfectly cooked and love the fried shallots on top. Our friend for the seafood lover something and that was really awesome. I would probably order that next time. We all shared our meals which would make u think we're not gonna order dessert. U is wrong. We ordered fried ice cream and fried bananas.... soooooo good. We come here at least once a month and always mid-afternoon. We always miss the much raved lunch specials! But it is such a gustatory pleasure. Today we had to go for the Mango Tree Platter, tulip dumplings, shrimp rolls, fried vegetable rolls and the Thai dumpling with 3 dipping sauces. If you can't decide, have the platter! The Duck Curry had a delightful surprise, it had green grapes in it. I've had hot grapes before, but this is the first time I had it in a viand and my hubbykins will be testing a couple of dishes at home to try. The folks are always very friendly and helpful. It has a nice and relaxing atmosphere and to us it's quite intimate, since we tend to eat at off-hours. Very clean. Check out the cozy restroom! We ordered chicken pad Thai and vegetable red curry. The pad Thai was overly sweet we had to add hot sauce to even out the sweetness. The curry flavor was good but couldn't justify the price vs the amount of vegetables served as a vegetarian entree. Hands down the best Thai in the Norristown area. I love their Evil Jungle Princess and Fried Pork Dumplings, but everything I've had here is excellent. The mango sticky rice dessert is also a favorite. Mango Tree happens to be closed on Tuesdays, so on a recent Tuesday I was craving Thai and decided to try another place in the area the had a few hundred great ratings on Yelp. They had nothing on Mango Tree (I ordered my usual favorites), I'm NOT looking forward to leftovers from the other place. From now on I will stick with Mango Tree. read more

This is an unassuming restaurant that feels very homey. Everything that my party ordered was very good, but my favorites were the lemongrass soup (slightly spicy and very tart), the mango curry (shrimp, chicken, vegetables, and mango in a thick, medium-spicy coconut milk based sauce), and the pineapple fried rice. Portions were generous. I would recommend getting one or two entrees per person and sharing family-style. Appetizers (other than soups) can be shared among two or more. It is BYOB. The service was great-- attentive without being annoying, and she seemed genuinely happy to have us. She even showed us how to fold the napkins into the cute roses they had at every place when someone in our party asked. We will return! read more

Very pleasing food, healthy portions, and well-organized and conscientious take-out system following covid19 safety protocol. Online ordering worked well and the food was ready on time and packaged and presented solidly and attractively. Even the fish entree translated surprisingly well to take-out. We had the tamarind salmon, drunken noodle with beef, tom yum soup, coconut soup, and triple dumpling, each of which ranged between very good to excellent. Looking forward to dining in again soon, but meanwhile Mango Tree's take-out is an excellent, reliable option. The food was great. So why the low review? We were seated right away but it took about 15 minutes before our server took our order. Food came out, we ate, we enjoyed, they took our plates, brought our bill, we paid, and that's where it went wrong. Despite what started as very slow service, by the end of our meal, they were moving so quickly to get the bill paid. Shortly after paying, yet with still nearly full wine glasses, our server came to us and said "Can you leave? We have a reservation." I WAS FLOORED! My now husband and I just had our pre-wedding day dinner party on August 2nd and it was so wonderful. The staff are all a pleasure to work with and are extremely accommodating and friendly. We were able to have so many of our friends and family share in the day and they all kept saying how amazing and plentiful the food was. There was not one thing that I would change - we had delicious pad thai, drunken noodles, fried rice, green curry, teriyaki salmon, evil jungle princess and a bunch of delicious appetizers - from salad and spring rolls to chicken satay and dumplings. Everything was so amazing and the presentation was incredible. I know we will definitely always return to the Mango Tree Bistro for a delicious thai meal and it will always be a special place for us and hopefully one for others that discover this gem! read more

So I ordered Drunken Noodles $12.95 with choice of chicken, beef or SHRIMP to include green bell peppers, green beans, carrots and onions. I asked to delete the green bell peppers and carrots. In substitution for pricy beef, chicken or SHRIMP I asked for a seven cent egg! Approximately 4 minutes later the very humble and kind waitress came out to inform that because I didn't want the more expensive beef, chicken or SHRIMP, I was going to be charged an additional dollar fifty ($1.50) more for a seven cent egg. I tried to explain this to the waitress and her explanation was because they had a vegetarian version of Drunken Noodles for the same price ($12.95) that they would sell me the vegetarian at regular menu (despite the fact that I deleted half of the vegetables) price and add the egg to that price. I know it's only one dollar and fifty cents but I'm a man of principal and I wouldn't eat there for free, hell I wouldn't even eat there if you paid me despite the good reviews. Surprisingly good. Came in for the lunch special. Try to get there by 1220 or it gets full. The chicken in the Tom Kha is a bit rubbery and chewy, but the soup is a decent coconut flavor. The dumplings were good. The mussaman curry (with 1 pepper) was probably what saved this review from being a 3, as a result of the rubbery chicken. The flavor was great, the rice a bit sticky, but good if you dunked it into the curry. I really enjoyed the curry dish, I only wish more rice was provided. read more
