Good food! We ordered takeout to eat at home. Chicken Pad Thai - Good, I enjoyed it. Maybe a little more sauce or depth in the flavor is needed. I am a fan of tofu so bonus points for throwing that in there. Drunken Noodles - This was quite nice, my fiance also enjoyed this. Chicken Satay Skewers - Good, not the best I've had Spring Rolls - Good Overall, the food here is good. I can't quite say this is my favorite place but I'd be more than happy to eat here again. SPECIFICALLY, what I'm more keen to look forward to is their dine-in experience. The aroma and atmosphere of the inside instantly hooked me when I was going to pick up my food. This is hands down my favorite Thai restaurant anywhere in the U.S. I love their Tom Kha soup, which is so well-balanced between coconut and lemongrass, and is packed full of mushrooms. This is the soup standard by which I judge all others at every other Thai restaurant. My favorite dish is the Roasted Duck with Pineapple. Recently I was in for their Lunch Special, which was a first for me. It turns out they have an excellent special with good pricing, and dishes that come with soup and rice. We also added a Papaya Salad, asking for it not too spicy. It was a wonderful lunch, and I'll have to remember to get over for that again! A co-worker recommended this to us a while ago when we were traveling for work. We go to Phoenixville a lot, but this is a little ways off of the main strip on Bridge Street so it took us a while to get here. We came with a group and shared a bunch of things. We started with the Taro appetizer. Everyone loved this. I haven't had anything like it before, but I would definitely get it again. For entrees, we shared the Duck Massamun Curry, the Beef Pad Se Ew, and the Chicken (I think?) Basil Fried Rice. I think the Basil Fried Rice was my favorite. It was spicy and had a sauce on it that I wasn't used to with Basil Fried Rice. There wasn't much basil though. The Pad Se Ew was also really good. I wish it had been spicier though. There was no spice at all. The Massamun Curry was just ok. It didn't have enough flavor in my opinion. We got Taro Sticky Rice for dessert which was good. The consistency of the rice seemed a little off to me compared to mango sticky rice I've had elsewhere, but I still liked it. This is a solid place to come for Thai food. read more

Thai Place used to be excellent. However, the last few times I have been there leave me wondering if they switched chefs or something. The food quality has gone down hill, in my opinion. Pad Thai used to be great and this most recent time the meat was a little weird (tough, seemed precooked), the flavors were off and then scent was not appealing. Also, the prices here are high. Crisp vegetables spring rolls and a sweet savoury pad thai with well executed noodles. Good predictable Thai meal. Because I learned they allow BYOB, I brought over some beers from the Giant in the same shopping strip. I ordered the vegetable spring rolls and shrimp pad thai. The spring rolls come out hot out of the fryer. They are sliced at an angle, which allows more of the aroma of the filling to waft up to one's nose. The crust was pleasantly golden, both slightly oily and crisp. The interior of the roll was slightly mushy (not quite perfect.) But the mix of vegetables was savoury and generous in portion. The accompanying sweet and sour dipping sauce added a needed element of acid to an otherwise very umami forward flavor profile. The Shrimp Pad Thai was portioned very generously. The noodles were well executed, firm yet soft on the bite. The dish had a powerful flavor blend of fishiness, savouriness, and sweet. The nuts inside were just crunchy enough to add an interesting mouthfeel. The shrimp was slightly over cooked and presented a noticeable but subtle mushiness. Overall the dish was filling and more interesting in flavor than in texture, which was quite homogeneous. The noodles really did an excellent job absorbing the pad thai sauce. read more

We came with a party of seven for my moms bday dinner. The larb, glass noodle salad and Tom yum soup were good. I just wish it was a bit stronger in flavor with more spice and citrus. Their pad Thai is my favorite. They use fresh noodle so they have a good chew. I was thrown off by the color but the flavor was great! If it's your first time, I really recommend getting the taste of Thailand, iced Thai tea and mango with sticky rice to try. I come here often with my family and love this place. Good food and drink. While it's not cheap crappy fast food you get what you pay for, I had rangoons I believe they were called the pad thai with chicken with a Thai iced tea both of which I enjoyed. It was out quickly and I ate it quicker! The server was very attentive although I do see some of them lounging about but to be fair it was on their downtime. I had high hopes for this restaurant that were severly dismantled upon tasting my food. It was not bad, but not good enough to return. Especially since my order was not prepared as requested. We ordered Pad Thai with medium spice and it had no spice. Plah Goong comes with mild spice, but ours was so spicy it was nearly inedible. The chicken wings were undercooked and red inside, so i had to put them in the oven. The only thing that was a expected was the Panang shrimp curry... which was tasty with the requested spicy but only had 3 shrimp. I give then 2 stars because the food wad not bad, just not what i wanted. I did call to express my concerns and was told, "the chef says the order was preparrd as you requested and you can come back for some pepper sauce." No khah pun kap. read more

I am here once every couple months and it is always a hit for the lunch specials. Soup or salad, app and main dish for under $12. Sold. Very friendly service. You can be in and out in 40 minutes if you know what you want fairly quick. Very nice portions and they will cater to the level of spicy you prefer (1 thru 4 I believe). Go with a 2 if you want some spice, but not enough to distract you from your meal. My favorite dish currently is the Vegetarian Pad Thai. Tons of colorful veggies and tofu to boot. I'm drooling just thinking about it now. I find the Drunken Noodles to be a bit on the oily side, so I don't typically order this one there, even though I it is one of my go to dishes for thai food. Every aspect about dinner here last night wowed me! Was well worth the long drive :) Service was attentive and quick. An extensive dinner menu with plenty of vegetarian options to choose from. We ordered Som Tom papaya salad, Gang Garee yellow curry with vegetables and Pad Thai with tofu. Vegetables in the curry were done right and the curry was very flavorful. I was blown away by Pad Thai - noodles, sauces, vegetables blended well together. For dessert, I chose mango ice cream and it was very rich and well balanced. I really wanted to taste coconut ice cream too but was too full. You may want to check with the server if they could do one scoop each of mango and coconut so you get to taste both. I will try it next time :) I was fascinated with the artwork and attention for detail - statues, paintings, bathroom decor, plates etc. The painting that especially got my attention was what looked like a traditional Thai gathering with small lamps in hands. A recent visit to the Valley Forge, Pennsylvania area prompted a dinnertime visit to Thai Place (700 Nutt Road, Phoenixville Plaza Suite #730, Phoenixville, PA 19460). The restaurant was easy to locate in a strip mall and offered ample parking. The spotless dining room was decorated in a creative array of Thai craftmanship, consisting of pottery, woodwork and paintings. Having eaten at many Thai restaurants (one of my favorite styles of food), I thought this would be just another healthy and tasty Asian meal. Little did I know, it would turn out to be the BEST Thai food experience I have ever had. An aficionado of Southeast Asian salads, I placed my standard order of the Beef, Papaya and Shrimp Salads. The Yum Nua Yang (beef salad) was composed of thinly-sliced-and-grilled beef, red onion, lemon, cilantro, roast-grounded rice and Thai sauce on a bed of lettuce. The Som Tum (papaya salad) was a delicious concoction of green papaya, tomatoes, string beans and peanuts infused with Thai sauce. The The Plah Goong (shrimp salad) was made with shrimp which had been cooked in chili paste, lemon, onion, scallion and Thai sauce then laid on a bed of lettuce. The flavors were exquisite, the ingredients were fresh, the portions were generous and the cost was very affordable. All of this contribute to my strongest recommendation for this gem of a culinary delight! read more

Thai Place makes phenomenal drunken noodles. And pad see ew. And basil fried rice. Easily the best drunken noodles I've had anywhere, and I've had it at dozens of places and hundreds of times. So while other dishes haven't blown me away, I can vouch for these. After a dozen plus encounters with the drunken noodles with beef - every single time it is bite after bite of flavorful perfection. I can't pinpoint what exactly makes it different - though I suspect the use of tomatoes add a different element most other places don't have. Friends living (and working) near this creatively named place have been recommending it for some time. I'm always game for Thai, so I met a friend there for lunch. It was easy to find, located in a shopping center with a Giant. The decor is nice but unremarkable and I remember hearing Thai music... Our appetizers and soups came out together. My soup was the tom yum gai, which was exotic deliciousness in a bowl. It had chicken and spices blended with lime juice and lemon grass with mushrooms, limes leaves and cilantro. I tried the todd mun chicken (deep-fried ground chicken and curry paste, served with cucumber) which was agreeable. My entree was the green curry, which had fresh chili, coconut milk, string beans, bamboo shoots, bell peppers, and lime leaves. I requested it spicy and it *WAS* (oh my jesus). I sweat up a storm and enjoyed every minute - talk about a workout! It was tasty and oh-so-special. The Thai Place is a fine example of outstanding Thai food way outside Philadelphia city limits.
