Been to a few places like these. It's not quite a restaurant or a hookah joint. This spot is what you would call a "Vibe." Let's get to it shall we. Hookah: Grape Mint combo,, just water and standard head. Great way to pass the time specially when waiting for a friend to arrive. Let's do the food now. Hummus: I like this hummus. It's nice and smooth and delish. Eat it with the complimentary pita with a bit of toum and enjoy life. Great presentation btw. Falafel Plate: I adore a good falafel. These ones are definitely pretty good. Although the uniformity of the pieces has me questioning if it came from a box or now. Anyways, I enjoyed it and that's what matters. Like I said. The spot is a total vibe. It's a joint where you come in, sit down, soak in the ambiance and relax. I'll start with what makes this place nice. The ambiance is great. The couches are comfortable. It's spacious. Plenty of room for large groups. There's outside patio seating that is heated. The hookah of course is good. Now my rating is on the service and quality of sushi. Let's start with the sushi. It was poorly wrapped. Sushi is supposed to be picked up easily and not fall apart. Second I got the Urban heat roll. The description says: spicy tuna, jalapeno, avocado, spicy mayo, temp crunch, wrapped in soy paper; drizzled with unagi sauce There is NO RICE in the description. Yet it came with a huge amount of rice. Literally a slash of the other ingredients and just rice. I asked for no jalapeños and there was jalapeños in them. Next the server was rude from the start. When we were seated we weren't told the menu was a QR on the table. He got there and told us with an attitude, which okay fine. But after we ordered the sushi we asked him for "hookah" options. He said it's at the bottom of the food menu. I couldn't see it and he was already annoyed so I just decided to ask his favorite flavors. He told us and I said ok we will go with that, He says "do you want two or one? We were puzzled but said just one we will share it. Then he brings us out a smoothie. ... we didn't complain we also didn't drink it. We already had sodas and water. It took us forever to flag our waiter down to order an actual hookah. I wud give negative 1 billion if I could. Theyr the biggest scammers ever. We ordered 3 half chicken subs and in each sub there was only 1 piece of only 1cm chicken with a few expired lettuce pieces. I mean why would we order 3 chicken subs for plain bread that we could get from Kroger? And pay $27? Also instead of mayo they gave us ranch and instead of hot sauce they gave us bbq sauce. Went for lunch with some friends. This is a nice spot with an outside part to it. Also, this place is a hookah joint. Who does not like eating and smoking some hookah. I got a chicken shwarma. The price was cheap and it was very good. The chicken and the pita was not dry. The hookah was good. The staff took care of us and was very attentive. I don't come here all too often since I'm not big on hookah and the food is nothing unique. But when I have friends from out of town visiting or feel like having a smoke with a warm beverage I do make exceptions. It's a great place to absorb the culture of Dearborn and have a relaxing evening. The service is hit or miss but the inside and outside seating is very nice so if you aren't in a hurry to get anywhere it's a good place to just chill. However, I was a little upset this particular day. I wanted to watch the World Cup Final with a group and we got there at 11am when the game started and got seated. The entire outdoor area was packed (at least 3 dozen people) crammed into a small space. But what made it worse was at any time I saw only one person waiting on all these tables. We ordered our food and drinks before the game, and while we did get our drinks eventually, our food didn't come out until after the game finished. In fact most of the other guests didn't really start getting food until an hour and a half after the orders were placed. I felt bad for my waitor, and when you have an event as big as the World Cup and you know you're gonna have this volume you have to staff appropriately. The food was just horrible, I ordered a chicken fattoush, the chicken was rubbery, the dressing was disgusting, you could taste the citric acid, the lettuce was soggy, it's such a shame that we spent over $30 and we weren't able to honestly enjoy our money's worth. This is one of our top worst dining experiences. Sitting here in the dining area (10 minutes) waiting for one of the four servers hanging out on their phones at the front counter to take our order tonight. By the way, we just arrived in Dearborn, MI from Louisiana, and eager to try this eastern cuisine. So we're just sitting there taking in the hookah aroma and thinking about trying that too, after we ordered and dined. Never happened. Hookahs were being refreshed all over the place, but no one ever came to let us see what we were there for!!! We realized that we were not welcomed there and got up to leave after my spouse said this is not going to work for her. On the way out the door, passing 2men and 2 women, one asked us " you didn't see anything you like on the menu?", (being heated by now because we were NEVER offered a menu after we say where we were directed to) I said it's fine, it's just the smoke. She said "oh, you can go right over there across the parking lot and order take out". I said ok, thank you. We found a White Castle and enjoyed and talked about how good the burgers were. Neither of us are fans of red meat, so that's saying something about Mango Cafe for our recommendation. Just saying, looking back over their past reviews (back 13 years), it seems to me that these folk, Mango Cafe, seem to serve you if they recognize you, if they don't then you're SOL! I have had experiences close to this before, but we've never been totally ignored, like this. I mean, not even offered a glass of water was offered. Parking is ridiculously tight, particularly if you need handicap spacing, which I didn't see. The ambiance is nice though for hookah smoking and chilling; I can only give them 1 star -for being open, but I can't comment on food that I never smelled, let alone tasted. I see why all of these Coney Islands are open around here. I'll be visiting here another week, so I am going to ask my folks about this place; or more importantly, about the cuisine somewhere else. Came here on a Saturday night for a double date. Really enjoyed the outdoor seating; many sushi options and food tastes great. The service was pretty good even though it was very busy. Our waiter made sure to check on us several times. The guys liked that they had many flavors to choose from for the hookah. The only thing that was kind of annoying was how crowded it got outdoors.
