It took a long time for our server to greet us after we were seated, and throughout the meal, they kept forgetting my requests, forcing me to repeat myself multiple times. I always try to be patient and understanding, but after so many attempts, it started to feel like my concerns weren't being heard. A little more attentiveness would have made a big difference. I've visited the Jagged Fork in Lathrup Village plenty of times but I hate the parking. When I found out there was a Dearborn Heights location I had to give them a try. If you're familiar with Dearborn Heights they took over the old Ram's Horn location. The parking is much better than the other location and I love how bright the inside is with the huge windows. I visited on a Saturday morning with my niece and although busy we were immeditely seated. Our server was friendly but not attentive. We had to ask someone to get her a couple of times. Our food came out fast, hot and full of flavor. My niece ordered the fresh squeezed OJ but she wasn't a fan of it. She switched to a strawberry smoothie and was much happier. I was looking for a brunch spot around Dearborn Heights to meet up with some friends and heard a lot of good things about other locations of The Jagged Fork. This location, for some reason, has very low ratings in comparison, but we decided to give it a chance anyways. The eating area is quite large and spacious and even at prime brunch hours, the restaurant didn't get very crowded. Unlike other reviewers, we had no issues with the service at all - they were prompt and friendly. To be honest, I think they might actually have too much waitstaff, given that there were a couple of people just standing around and chatting. But maybe that's the restaurant trying to improve after reading all the reviews talking about the bad service. House Made Corned Beef Hash ($16) - This dish comes with two eggs, a small pile of corned beef, hashbrowns or fruit, and toast or pancakes. My two eggs over medium were pretty much cooked over easy since they were still completely gooey. Between pancakes or toast - the choice for pancakes is pretty obvious. You get two pancakes, which are fluffy and quite vanilla-ey in flavor. The hashbrowns are pretty good - they fry on the flat top until the outside develops a nice crisp, and the interior still remains fluffy. The corned beef is salty and meaty and is mixed with tender potato chunks. The description of the dish in the menu makes it sound like you will get a huge pile of meat, but it's actually pretty modest. Still, with all of the carbs on the plate, you'll get more than enough to fill you up. (4/5) Voodoo ($14) - My first impression as I bit in: woah is this unexpectedly quite spicy, both the salsa verde and the chorizo add quite a bit of heat. I feel like they should label this on the menu as being spicy because it's not obvious from reading the description. The spice level and tanginess from the salsa verde kind of overwhelm the other flavors in the dish. After eating this, I kind of regretted not ordering the classic benedict. (3/5) As other reviews state, they charge an automatic 18% gratuity and they default an extra 20% tip on top of that. Very scummy. I didn't see anything in the menu stating this, so I'm pretty sure this is illegal as well. Overall, I don't think this restaurant deserves being rated so low, but there are some definite issues. I can see that the automatic 18% gratuity can put people off, especially because I couldn't find a notice anywhere in the menu or posted in the restaurant. Still, if you're looking for a more modern brunch (rather than a Coney Island or classic diner style), you could do worse. Bathrooms: Two larger restrooms. I've seen a lot of reviews for The Jagged Fork in other locations so was excited to try the new one in Dearborn Heights. There are many pros to the restaurant, it's clean, service is excellent, portion sizes are enormous. However, there are also some cons - it's a little pricey ( most entrees are around $15) and none of the dishes we had were particularly tasty - they were simply not craveable. They were ok but not worth the expense or calories. There are better local breakfast places. I tried the Jagged Fork crepe - a savory crepe with ham, eggs, a variety of veggies, etc. It was definitely big enough to serve two people and was well prepared except for the fact that it definitely needed a sauce to add flavor. A little hollandaise or chipotle sauce would have done wonders. Another person in my party ordered the traditional eggs Benedict. He regularly orders eggs Benedict everywhere so has a good basis for comparison. He rated these a 5 of 6 out of 10, which is pretty low for his standards. So bottom line, it will do if you need breakfast, but we personally won't be back. read more

Food was AMAZING! They bring you fresh, hot syrup for the pancakes and French toast. The lemon vinaigrette they use on the greens is a house recipe and is so good. The iced coffee was not bad but I prefer stronger coffee, will try the espresso next time. Came in at noon on a Saturday, was sat immediately, and food was served with 15 minutes of placing our order. I do not remember the waitresses name but she was so sweet and attentive. Amazing food and options! I got the chorizo skillet that came with either toast or pancakes on the side, and a dragonfruit lemonade. It arrived and I was shocked at how much food there was. It could easily feed 2 people. The skillet potatoes and the chorizo are both so good! Dragonfruit lemonade wasn't my favorite, but it was decent. I went with a friend for brunch on Friday and we got seated immediately. It's very clean inside, appears to have been renovated or updated when they moved in. Cute modern feel. I have no idea why this place has such low poor reviews. It makes me think the one star reviews are disingenuous flooding out the true reviews. The Jagged Fork stands out in the areas as it it more Mexican than middle eastern. But food can be prepared halal per request. It's very very clean, service is fast and welcoming. Great breakfast place. Used to be a Ram's Horn, but I think they did a good job of cleaning up the dining area and the whole room feels less cluttered. Service was excellent, food came out within a reasonable amount of time, and portions were generous. The chicken in my tamales was a little dry and the fruits could have been more ripe, but it's not a bad place as long as you know that the food can be a little expensive. We love a Sundary morning Bloody Mary but we were very disappointed that they did not serve alchohol. The server said they were respecting the community. I recently visited this particular Jagged Fork 3 times in 2 weeks. I ordered the same meal all three times. Their standard. The eggs were never ok. Either my "over medium" was still a mess or my scrambled was like rubber. My sausage was way overdone all three times. Hash browns were just ok. Twice only a half order of hash browns, not sure where the other half went. One time an acceptable amount. The coffee is great. Service was great 2 times. Considering this is a bit higher than the average coney place for breakfast, it was disappointing. Each visit, my food was not really hot either. Why? Not busy either. We were greeted with excellent customer service from start to finish, even after a table of ~20 came in to dine. Simone was a very patient and charismatic waitress that was responsive to my mothers every question (and she has loads of questions when ordering). She went above and beyond with the care of helping my parents, who aren't even elderly. Just funny. The food was great! Service was great. They noticed my handicapped brother coming to the door so they met us there and held open both doors. Our waitress, Holly, was friendly and took great care of us. I Ordered the cloud nine crepe. I didn't take a picture when I got it but presentation was beautiful. Too bad there wasn't hardly any strawberry cream cheese inside. This was the most inefficient restaurant I've ever eaten at! The facilities were layed out very strange with the kitchen very far from all tables. The tables were crowded together but there was a great deal of empty space in the building. We were a party of two. The wait was long but it was busy so that was not that unusual. We were waited on reasonably quickly but then we waited for 30 minutes before our waitress told us that our food was slow to come out because of a large funeral party in the back. And by the way can you repeat your order. It was another 15 minutes before one meal, blueberry pancakes, came out but not the other. It was another 10 minutes before the second meal, french toast, came out. The blueberry pancakes had good flavor but most of the blueberrys were servered uncooked on top of the cakes with only a very few cooked in the batter. No butter was served. The french toast was soggy and wet. We were told that is how they normally serve them. We sent the french toast back. The charges for drinks, and extras added up and there was a manditory 18% gratuity on the meal. We ended up paying $38 for blueberry pancakes, a side of bacon, hash browns, a coffee, and a hot chocolate. I don't know about other diners but I found that crazy expense. The whole experience was terrible and nothing was done to adjust our bill except to take of the cost of the french toast. We will never go back to a Jagged Fork anywhere! read more

This is the second Jagged Fork location that I've frequented within the past couple of weeks. The greeter was very nice and she was precise when it came to the wait time before being seated. Our server Rachel was very sweet and attentive. The food was great, even the coffee was top tier. I was very disappointed not to be able to have a Mimosa with my brunch after having been able to have one at the other location. It was mentioned that it may be due to it being heavily populated by the Muslim community. I won't return to this location, but I'd recommend it to anyone who isn't concerned with being able to have mimosas with the ladies while out for brunch. Less then expected - Breakfast/Brunch: One would presume if ordering the breakfast skillet - the food would be served in some sort of metal skillet or hot plate - Especially after asking our server will the potatoes come out sizzling on the skillet, and their response is "oh yes, it will." My breakfast came to the table, and it was served in a skillet, albeit a plastic skillet, that was neither sizzling nor was the food inside of it. I looked down upon clumps of lukewarm potatoes surrounded by less than warm, sausage, bacon, and ham with bits of un-melted cheese scattered about. The crown of this plastic breakfast Skillet was too delicious looking over easy eggs perched on top, which unfortunately were the only things hot in that plastic, (should have been) sizzling hot breakfast skillet! Even more disappointing was the breakfast crepe that my partner ordered. It was a savory crepe filled to the brim with delicious meats. But the one thing that made this crepe undesirable was its gummy/rubber like texture, which we found unappetizing. Our colleague whom we invited to joined us for breakfast for his birthday ordered the omelet, which was a good size, and that was delicious. Unfortunately, the pancakes that accompanied his meal were dropped at the table by the server. We do understand that things happen, but this breakfast experience was in great peril. This was our first time at this brand-new restaurant in our community. They say that first impressions are everything, and we were surely getting an impression! What added insult to injury was the coffee, which was pedestrian at best, and I cannot understand the cost of $3.50 for a 12oz coffee! Moreover, we were a table of three people and were charged 18% gratuity, which is fine when disclosed. Tipping is a fundamental part of the experience when dining out, and one that I enjoy providing for the service I receive. What troubled me was the inclusion of gratuity without disclose, nor providing an itemized check until one is requested. Yes, it is listed on the website, but I didn't recall seeing it on the menu or posted in the restaurant. It makes me wonder how many customers have paid double gratuity without knowing it was in the check? Overall the interior of the restaurant is inviting, warm, and the service team was nice. I was just disappointed with my meal and if I'm paying $18 to $22 for a meal, I would expect that it should be hot or at best better than lukewarm! I hope leadership at TJF (The Jagged Fork) take this as constructive criticism. I expected more from them considering they have other locations around Michigan, and this is a new location in Dearborn Heights. I do not think I will have breakfast at TJF any time soon. Service is amazing! Everyone from the door to table were friendly and attentive. They all have a great team spirit! The ambiance is great; simple & bright; comfy & cozy yet spacious & noninvasive. Kris was a wonderful server; hopefully we will have the pleasure of her service again. Although any server would probably be a pleasure as well. We do plan on requesting Kris on Sunday's.
