Cute diner in islamorada, lots of options and original breakfast items. Definitely try the biscuits and gravy! We are on a key lime pie taste test tour and this one is for sure up there for local pies. Great pastry case as well. Also a good spot to grab souvenirs. This place for sure delivers the old Florida keys vibe.

We made a quick stop for some breakfast and the spot is really good. The moment you walk in we were greeted and quickly brought to our table. Our server was very attentive and very sweet. The food was delicious and came out quickly. I did notice that the dishes other people ordered had big portions so keep that in mind when you order. The ambiance is total island life living! Oh the bathroom has a nice sugar scrub to wash your hands! I'm obsessed!

Overall, a decent dining experience! We were seated promptly, and the staff was friendly although very matter of fact haha! There was lots of seating available and the atmosphere is lively - definitely a great place to grab breakfast or brunch. The food was decent, but nothing exceptional. We ordered the Mangrove Special and the fish benedict with hogfish and it was decent.

So good that we went back for day two. We were staying at Casa Morada and this place is easily within walking distance. My husband and I went for breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday of our trip. Both days the place was full and very busy, but we never waited more than five minutes because we sat at the counter, which was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and inviting and the service was excellent. They gave us time to peruse the menu and answered our questions. The first day I got the pancake combo with key lime pancakes. The pancakes were perfect, fluffy with crispy edges, but I would've liked a little bit more key lime sauce on top (I should have asked.) The whipped cream with the key lime sauce was a perfect combination. They brought out maple syrup, but I didn't use it. The second day my husband and I shared the French toast sampler and an omelette. The omelette was fluffy and well-filled with toppings. The French toast sampler allowed us to try a bunch of different flavors. We had the regular, cinnamon roll, blueberry, and apple cinnamon. We enjoyed all of them. The only "issue" we had was that my husband ordered the corn beef hash on the first day and did not end up eating it because he thought it was made in-house, but it was not and he really wanted it fresh. It's not necessarily a complaint. It's just something to note. Oh and I almost forgot that both days my husband got one of their fresh made cinnamon rolls from the case upfront. The first day it was an appetizer for him and the second day he took it home so we could enjoy it later. The atmosphere of the place is laid-back, keys vibe with lots of fishing and ocean related decor. They have a huge gift shop with a lot of art that you can walk through while you're waiting for your table. I would definitely go again if I'm back in the Florida Keys.

This place is amazing. Super casual and a perfect spot for a good breakfast before hitting the water on the boat. The food is delicious and reminds me of something my grandmother would whip up for the family before river days. Service is great and super friendly. We love this place. Also a great spot for lobster trap art if you're into that.

Delicious breakfast and brunch options in Islamorada, FL. Lots of impressive fishing photos throughout the sitting areas showcasing Mike's success as a skilled fisherman. Service was very pleasant despite the large crowd waiting to be seated. Use this time to walk around their gift shop and pick up some fun souvenirs. Food took a little while to come out, so enjoy your coffee or a mimosa.

Clean, fun environment with friendly service. Greeted warmly after entering and again by our server. Food was great. Had a homemade feel to it. You did not leave hungry. I got the breakfast tacos that came with 3 fairly big sized tacos filled with eggs, cheese and sausage. I was stuffed after two. My wife got the one egg with French toast which she enjoyed. Will definitely go back.

I was looking for a place with breakfast that was open early and had good food ! And this was the spot ... service was super efficient and fast . We got greeted and seated in a short period of time . And the food was as so good , I got the salmon with eggs Benedict's and it was delicious, fresh salmon full of flavor! If you want a classic, delicious, slightly greasy, breakfast (maybe after a night out) - definitely head over to Mangrove Mike's! We love coming here for breakfast when we are in town. The food is always really good, the home fries are some of my favorite. You know it's good when all the local fishermen go there! Service is always great, friendly and attentive. The restaurant is not huge, which makes it more intimate and not as loud as other breakfast spots can sometimes be. Theme is fishing, which is very appropriate - and they are located right next to the Lobster Trap Art store, which is amazing!

DO NOT MISS OUT! I'm serious okay? This is beyond amazing! The quality of food, the staff, the ambiance is so cute and quaint with so much history to look at. My sister and I are so glad we found this gem. We are from Miami and we will be driving here JUST for this spot! Not kidding. COME and eat your heart out! We stopped in for breakfast and were lucky to get a table right away. It got crowded, and for good reason. Mangrove Mike himself is directing people to their tables and he's got it down. My favorite part was the waitress who responded to a shrieking child with "Hey now, this isn't Chucky Cheese!" Best part of breakfast. The food was great as well, with lots of gluten free options. They have both gluten free bread and wraps. We'd definitely come back. read more

GREAT breakfast joint! In fact we came 2 days in a row. The Brie breakfast sandwich was fantastic, the tator tower was enormous & my husband had the Mangrove Oscar both days. Sat at the bar and had Katie. She is what this business is all about. However, everyone was very nice and you can tell most customers were regulars. The portions of deliciousness at Mangrove Mike's were out of bounds! This was our last stop on our way out of the keys and it was an awesome way to send us off. The food was delicious and we were more than fueled up for our flight back home. Highly recommend! read more

Stop by on a late Monday morning and the place was packed....that tell you something! OUTSTANDING!! Servers were excited to be there and help make the experience a good one! The food was on-point! I had the tater tot kitchen sink....no way I could finish it. Sooo worth the ordering and my wife had the wonderful cinnamon waffles. We always try to stop here whenever we are down in the keys, it's a gem of a spot. Breakfast is our usual time to go and we are never disappointed. The staff is always friendly and the food is fresh, hot and quick. From classic favorites like the Mangrove Mike's Special 2 eggs cooked how you like, 2 hot cakes and 2 sausage or bacon to the Mangrove omelet which is a nice portion of crab meat, asparagus with lobster sauce. Both are amazing and with very good portions. We have never been for lunch but it looks phenomenal. This is truly a Florida Keys treasure, where you feel like one of the locals. We deliberately chose this joint to have breakfast food after noon. It's clean, comfortable, well lit and I can't smell the grill from my seat. You know how you eat at some cafes or diners and you walk out feeling like you were working in the kitchen cuz that grease is just clinging to you? Not here. This place is awesome. The prices are reasonable too. It feels very friendly and welcoming and unpretentious. Admittedly, I only had one thing, but it was so good. I would recommend this place to all my friends and even to you strangers. I might come back to try lunch this week. read more

On vacation down here and heard this was a pretty popular spot. I got the dots special I think it was, and it was pretty good, I would say that it was average breakfast food, maybe a little above average. The pancakes are huge. My brothers food was better than mine, he got one of the tatertot towers. and the service was good too. Would go here again, but I would probably switch my order. read more

We made it here just before 2pm closing time on a Sunday. Blown away by fresh Shrimp Po Boy and the Tater tots tower. Clean bathroom which is always a plus driving down the Keys. Blonde tattooed server is very attentive and nice! Cappuccino was yummy, would go back 100 percent. read more

Go in a few times and try something different each time and you'll be bound to find something you'll want every time you come back. Another dog friendly location in Islamorada!!!! We tried to go here one morning and they were closed due to a transformer problem. We returned a few days later. They allowed the puppy inside which thrills me because he gets hot too. They immediately brought him water! The food was good. The portions are large. The waitress was new (had only been in town a month) but she did great. There is a cute gallery attached. read more

The perfect place to grab breakfast before a day out on the water. Quick and friendly service along with an awesome meal. You can get a traditional breakfast or mix it up with loaded hasbrowns. The Benedicts are also delicious. If you need to grab a to go lunch for your day out they also offer great subs you can grab and take with you. I wanted to like this place so much more, but unfortunately it wasn't the best experience. Wait time was about 30 mins, which was totally fine for a weekend morning- hostess would call out the party's name 1-2x and then call over the mic if no party approached. I waited around the hostess stand for the first 20 minutes, name was never called. I stepped away to the restroom momentarily, came back and had been crossed out of the list and 2 parties were seated in the meantime. Her excuse was that I didn't listen, I had been called for a while and I failed to come to the hostess stand............. Ok. Waitress wasn't the kindest either. I was willing to look over this considering we were very hungry and our food was rather decent, but then came my fruits- moldy fruits. Breakfast wise- the food (other than the berries) were good. Service, not so much. read more

Bring an appetite! Huge portions. Pancakes the size of a vinyl record, for people that remember those. Omelets are massive. Restaurant is attached to a nice gallery/gift shop. Definitely recommend this place for breakfast. read more

We ate at Mangrove Mikes twice while staying in the Keys. We went there because they offer gluten free options and I have celiac disease. The main gf fare they have is French toast and gf pancakes. The first time I ordered the gf French toast with coconut bread. (They have the choice of almond or coconut and I am allergic to almonds) The texture of the bread was less than desirable. I couldn't eat it. It may just have been me. I live in Portland, Oregon and we have pretty stellar gluten free bakeries there, so I am accustomed to better. We gave them another try today and I ordered the pancakes. The server asked if I wanted 2 or 3 and I said 3, since pretty much everything gluten free is smaller. Wowza. They were huge and delicious, which redeemed the restaurant in my eyes. Our server also made sure that my items were cooked separately, away from other food. I so appreciate being able to eat safely. Once caveat. They are offering wheat straws in place of plastic. They are labeled gluten free, but as a celiac I don't take those types of chances. The risk of cross contamination is too high. Luckily, I caught that it wasn't a typical straw before I used it. I feel that they should ask if you want one, as wheat is also one of the top allergens. I would hate for someone to get anaphylaxis from their straw. read more

I ordered The Turtle Breakfast with eggs over easy, added an extra egg, sausage, and bacon, and swapped the toast for a side of biscuits and gravy. Everything was cooked perfectly. The bacon was thick-cut, salty goodness, the sausage was packed with flavor, and the biscuits were light and fluffy. The sausage gravy was some of the best I've had, rich, hearty, and loaded with flavorful sausage. Whether you're staying in Islamorada or just passing through, I highly recommend stopping by Green Turtle Inn for breakfast. It's a great way to start the day in the Keys.

We all ordered some variation of the Fancy Nancy, their namesake burger. It was a good burger but not the best in Florida. Not even close. The fries were frozen and nothing to write home about. Others in our party ordered the "award-winning" potato salad, which tasted pretty good. As an aside, I ordered my burger medium well, and it was cooked as desired. Everyone else ordered their burger medium and two were very pink, more like medium rare or rare. It seems like most of their awards and accolades were earned pre-COVID. We wanted to like this local spot but I have to imagine it's not what it once was.

Even the butterscotch bread pudding ($14) is as good as Gordan Ramsay's version. Don't hesitate to go here....and I am sure it will get crowded in season, so reservations will probably be needed. Of course the locals will sit at the bar, but that is out secret.

Fantastic!! Food was great service was great & cashier was sweet! Prices were amazing and let me just tell you their banana bread french toast and sausages are out of this world. I thought coming on labor day would be a huge mistake but the young lady who served us smiled the whole time, our drinks were never empty and she was super helpful. I felt like part of the keys family not some dreaded "Miami" lady. I will be back again! You should send your staff to these fancy expensive restarants in miami for a lesson or two! read more

Was treated horribly and thrown out for not wearing a mask. I am vaccinated and wasn't allowed to show my card. This was embarrassing. others saw this and also walked out behind me. Disgraceful. I am very aware of the situation with Mike, and its heartbreaking but he wouldn't want his staff agressively embarassing another local business owner like they did to me. There was a smell to the place that was a little off-putting when we first walked in; smelled like fish. Do not order the fried chicken plate! At first it was tasty then my second bite of chicken breast was ice cold. ICE cold. I was told it's pre prepared, then frozen until ordered! Then told it's only battered ahead of time.
