My Car maybe cool for now, but I'm still Steaming!!!!…read more I dropped my car off Tuesday June 26th, 2024 and explained that my car was overheating and blowing hot air. They could not see my car that day, but scheduled me in at 11am on Wednesday. CLAS did not get to my car to see the problem until Thursday. I patiently waited for days since the Jennifer (the office rep) stated they had 1-2 mechanics working. I understood and due to the heat I figured it would take awhile. Thursday I spoke with James and he stated that I needed a new thermostat and a coolant flush. Long story short, I got my car back Friday 6/28 and within an hour my car red coolant temperature light, windshield wiper light and engine light was on. It was like I was back to square one! My car started to steam and stall. I called CLAS and called Jennifer who stated that they will be there Saturday 6/29 between 8am-12pm. They did not show up at all. There was a sign on the door that they will be on vacation starting 7/1. I called numerous times. I could not leave a voicemail due to it not being activated( I wonder why). I drove my car a little without the air and it overheated within minutes. I waited til everything cooled down and checked my fluid levels. Ya'all! There was no antifreeze or windshield wiper fluid. Per Jennifer she stated that the owner looked at my car‍The way this experience has been going he probably did not put in a new thermostat either. Now they on vacay with the money I paid them and I have to wait til they come back on July 8th to discuss the matter. -Nena Smiley

I have had quite a few services performed here on my vehicle's and it's been a very amazing local…read moreservice station. It's been on my mind to write another review from an unscheduled stop right after Christmas. My daughter hit something with her car and broke an aftermarket rim. She's in college a few hours from home and needed to get back after her break. I had a new wheel ordered and paid for overnight delivery but could not find anywhere to install it. Every where was closed. I stopped by here and happened to run into an amazing gentleman that saved my entire day. The shop was closed but he was working on his personal vehicle for a trip to go see his daughter in college from what I remember. He opened the shop to remove the old rim and tire and mount the brand new setup for us. I have thought about this quite a bit and I'm always so thankful every time I go by and think about that day. An extremely kind gesture that saved so many things going wrong that day. I had a wonderful conversation with him as well. He stuck with me and helped me and I just wanted to Thank him and the wonderful family oriented establishment. They are incredible people and he didn't even charge us. I wanted people to know how great this place is and send as much business as possible their way!!!

Great experience all around for a transmission fluid and filter change on my Mini Cooper. I…read moredropped the car off the night prior and dropped the key through the door slot. They called me the next day around noon pickup. Price was reasonable (sub $300 - which is way less than Mini dealership) and everyone I interacted with were professional, friendly and helpful.

Yesterday I stopped by Jiffy Lube because they had forgotten to reset my oil light after my last…read moreoil change. While I was there I mentioned I had smelled a burning rubber smell recently so asked them to check it. They said it looked like my transmission was leaking so they referred me to Cottman's. I didn't know they normally require appointments so I just went in yesterday afternoon and explained the situation to the woman at the front desk. The owner was in the back and heard what I said and told her I needed to be moved to the front of the line. If I truly had a leak it was extremely flammable so he wanted them to immediately check it instead of sending me away to come back later because there was a chance my car could catch on fire and he didn't want to risk that happening. A mechanic immediately came and checked my car. After their inspection they said I had a few oil leaks, it wasn't my transmission and I could drive it without risk of it catching on fire. They referred me to the mechanic next door since they don't fix oil leaks there. While I didn't end up getting anything done, I really appreciated their sense of urgency and concern. The inspection they did was free which was nice. If I have any transmission issues in the future (which fingers crossed I don't) I would absolutely come back here.

I have taken both my paid for vehicles here for service. I generally don't review on one…read moreexperience alone, the review is based on many thousands of dollars worth of business over 2 years. These guys serviced my diesel truck and lexus exactly as they said they would on several occasions. They were upfront on estimates, and have not had any rework to deal with. Pricing on tires is solid. Work done has been both minor and major, and all done correctly. Timing belt, major top end diesel work, and small stuff like tires were all completed correctly. In the past I have done complete rebuilds on diesel and gas engines of various makes and no longer have the time to do it myself. I expect correct work from mechanics and they delivered, repeatedly. ben

Review #500 takes me to Downtown Creedmoor for a new local business. I brought my little yellow…read morecar here for some brake work and wiring issues. Jeff seemed to know his way around my old C3. There were still more wiring and brake issues to be resolved, but I decided I needed to be able to eat before I dumped a ton more cash into this car. I just wanted it to be drivable without worrying about whether or not the 3500lbs of steel, leather, plastic and fiberglass would stop and whether or not I'd get rear ended if I could stop. It took about 50 miles for the new brakes/rotor to finally break in - unfortunately, the car still won't stop on a dime if I need it to. Not sure how to resolve that - maybe it's as simple as bleeding the brakes again (a two person job - something my daddy taught me how to do when I was 10 years old), or maybe it's an indication of needing a new master cylinder - something I would have no business messing with. While the jury is still out on this shop, Jeff did indeed tighten up some of the seals that appeared to be leaking. Kudos and credit for no more spots in my driveway. Pricing/Hours scared me for the brake work and about what I expected for the wiring issues. Time will tell when I bring it back for the balance of the brake work we discussed and for other work that needs to be done to make this car "safer" to drive. I just want to have a place to take this car where I can trust the people working on it for their expertise and their integrity. This may or may not be that place. Quick update - took the little yellow car back for round two because the dash light for the brakes came on... seems I still have a leaky caliper. Jeff got the system up and working again, no charge this time, but two weeks later, running into the same problem again. Not sure what the issue is - burned right through another set of new pads on that wheel. Last Update: After taking my C3 to another shop, and to a mechanic who specializes in Corvettes, I'm being told the rotors and calipers are all still original and none were ever replaced. I will not be back to Main Street Automotive for anything.
