Picked up a friend from the airport around noon and headed here for lunch on a Tuesday. Not too crowded, we were seated at a lovely table with a view of the Elk Reserve. Enjoying the view and a glass of Prosecco, I ordered the potsticker appetizers and my friend ordered the meatloaf sandwich. My potstickers were fantastic. Just how they should be. I really wanted to love this place. The setting was beautiful, overlooking the Elk Refuge. We ate outside and our server has very friendly, but attempting to wait on too many tables. We ordered the citrus braised beet salad and the casper power bowl for lunch. We each added bison as our protein. Both were just okay. The beet salad definitely shined brighter than the power bowl. We waited a very long time to see our server once our food was delivered and then again when we needed the bill so we could leave. We made a reservation and ate here for lunch right after we landed in Jackson,WY. So beautiful to sit outside on their patio and look out at the elk refuge. Our waitress was lovely! We got the game stew which was so rich and yummy. The cowboy caviar as a wrap - which comes with chips as a side. The chips are housemade and perfectly crunchy, I dipped a few in the stew and it was delicious! The trout po boy - which is yummy and the bread was fresh, the sauce was little spicy (which we like but you should know if you don't like spice). My husband got a local beer and I got the sockeye soritz which was very citrusy and refreshing. We are on our honeymoon so we also did the chamomile panna cotta and coffee which was one of the most delicious dessert we've ever had! Would highly recommend this place!! read more

We stopped at this location with a group of eight. We were traveling from Island Park Idaho to the Tetons. We almost stopped in Jackson hole to grab a bite to eat, but ended up deciding to drive up the road and I am so happy that we did. This restaurant is located in an art museum, which added to the whole experience. Not to mention the views of the elkwere insane! We ordered so much food and everyone was pleased with their meals! I tried the soup of the day (sweet potato miso) and the grilled onion/cheese sandwich. Both were delicious. We had four kids who ordered four different meals and everybody clean their plates. This is the nicest restaurant and only restaurant I dined in at while visiting Jackson. I am so glad it was Palate because the food was amazing, the views unbelievable on top of the hill overlooking the Elk Natural Reserve, and inside a beautiful Wildlife art museum. Hubby and I was on a Grand Teton tour with our guide and she took us here. She has been here a handful of times and she raves about Palate and how she has not had a bad meal here. I was very excited to try their food and she was right! Our burgers were delicious and juicy and just the right amount of food. The coconut soup was so creamy! The hot chocolate warmed up my soul. Excellent all around and great service from our server who checked in on us several times. She was a sweetheart and even got us the correct menu (the menu she first gave us has the entrees replicated twice). Highly recommend to dine here and to check out the museum after. read more

Great place to visit in Jackson Hole Wyoming, great art gallery, many sculptures, and great dinning, make sure you make reservations it stays busy, if you don't you can check in and go through the gallery's it will take a while it very big, but the food was great, elk soup, burgers, chicken salad and the grilled cheese was very high end, not your run in the meal food, just an outstanding place atmosphere is great and the staff is very nice, drop a a few dollars in the shop. This museum cafe well deserves its five stars. On a busy Friday, my husband and I were told there was an hour wait for a table. We ordered our food to go and had a gourmet picnic in our car. Everything was delicious: savory game and lentil stew, flavorful bahn mi sandwich, tangy beet salad with creamy goat cheese, and the exceptional Idaho red trout with house made chips and herby tartar sauce. I ate the lightly fried strips of fish with my fingers. My husband's only complaint was that the jalapeño in the sandwich was too hot--and this is a guy who loves jalapeños and puts hot sauce on almost everything. This is probably the coolest, most unique spot I've ever had lunch at. I'm not even sure what to compare it to because it's literally perfect. It's max 10 minutes outside of Jackson Hole, but it's totally worth the drive. The restaurant is located at the National Museum of Wildlife Art, which is a great experience itself that you can check out after lunch or while you wait for your table. You can either choose to sit inside or outside, and of course we sat outside. The patio view had me at a loss for words. It overlooks the Elk Refugee and mountains in a distance. The view itself is worth coming here. The menu is close second. I started off with their Bloody Mary which had a pretty spicy kick, but that's the way I like it. It was served really tall glass, so I enjoyed it for the whole meal. For appetizer we had the peaches & tomato plate. It was definitely creative and enjoyable, and I'm glad it wasn't filling because the main course portions definitely will fill you up. My girlfriend ordered the Casper Power Bowl which looked absolutely amazing, and we even paid extra $8 extra to have bison meat. I couldn't decide between their Palate Burger or the Trout Fish & Chips. Our great waitress recommended I try the Trout Fish & Chips since that's her favorite, and she didn't steer me wrong. For dessert, we shared a small Lemon Posset, which is a vanilla bean cream with fresh berries served in a really small cup. This place was perfect, and I will forever recommend it to people if I hear they're visiting Jackson Hole. Love love love! read more

We hit this sport on the way to the airport, it is pretty close by. This restaurant is part of what looked like a pretty cool museum, but we didn't have time to stop. We did see lots of cool statues of animals inside and outside of the museum. We were in a bit of a rush, but ordered the spaghetti for one kid, no meatballs. He enjoyed it, but found it spicy as warned. The other kid liked Bison Gyro, but I don't have much to add. I had trout & chips. They were battered in a thick but light batter. Definitely a different take on it, which I enjoyed. They had homemade chips and a solid tartar sauce. Service was great. read more

The Family and I had lunch today at Palate which is located on the ground floor of the National Museum of Wildlife Art. Palate is pretty unique in my view being it is located within the walls of a museum, has an incredible view, and has incredible food and service. Their website describes the dining experience as "An Artful Lunch in Jackson Hole". Indeed, it is. Food and art complement each other very well in my view and should be paired as often as possible. We arrived shortly after noon and were starving from our morning at Jenny Lake. The host sat us at a beautiful table with an incredible view. Palate has a very small footprint and has a limited number of tables indoors and some tables outside. They are only open for lunch. The menu has a lot of very familiar items as well as some that aren't. The Mrs. ordered the Trout and Chips. A beautifully composed dish consisting of Idaho Red Trout fried in vodka tempura and served with malted onion, tartar sauce, lemon, and a side of house made chips. Kiddo ordered the French Onion Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Palate basically took French Onion soup and broke it down. I've never seen anything like it. Gruyère cheese, Smoked Gouda, and Pecorino placed between two slices of sourdough bread and grilled to gooey perfection and served with a mushroom au jus. I ordered the Smoked Turkey Club and I have to say it was THE BEST turkey sandwich I've ever had. Beautifully smoked turkey piled high with Gruyère cheese, lettuce, tomato, bacon jam, and American Dijonaise placed between two pieces of a thinly sliced baguette. I opted to get the soup of the day instead of the chips. The soup was a mushroom Gruyère and it was incredibly rich and good. For dessert, kiddo ordered the Derby Pie which I won't describe you, but will just say it can't be missed when dining at Palate. The service at Palate was really good as well. Had lunch here before exploring the wildlife art museum. The food gets a 5; the service gets a 3; the ambience gets a 5 if you can get a table outside. There was a large school group there so I suspect the service may have better if they weren't slammed. No tables inside but still a beautiful view from inside but extremely loud until the school group left. What impressed me most was the interesting menu. I got a bison Gyro--using Babaghanoush instead of tziki--tons of delicious thinly cut bison with tasty pickled onions. Stepmom got a greek appetizer platter with amazing cauliflower--?flash fried with tasty spices. If I lived here I would come back to try other things on the menu. read more
