I used to be able to call in or SMS text an order straight to the store to avoid waiting in line. Seems they no longer answer the phone and have outsourced any remote ordering to Grubhub and chownow. The trend towards omnichannel means more options for the consumer not fewer, more expensive options. I called Bagel Chateau instead. read more

Centrally located, close to the train and downtown! After living in NYC for a few years I was skeptical that I could get bagels that were just as good as my favorite place in the city (Gramercy Bagel, check out my review on them). Manhattan Bagel lives up to its name...it's a little taste of NYC right here in Westfield. This is a great stop if you're on your way to work in the morning or just looking for a local place to have a quick breakfast. We stop here on Saturdays before we start running around town. My wife loves it because they have plenty of options and she can have her favorite - Everything Bagel with a smear of Chive & Onion and slice of tomato. I always end up with my personal favorite "Whole wheat bagel with egg whites and turkey bacon." They always make it perfect. Everything is in perfect proportion and the bagels are fluffy and delicious. Busy times here are usually Sat/Sun mornings - If you come around 8:30 expect to hit a line.... It moves quickly though. Maybe I'm a bit biased because I grew up a yankee but have lived in the south my adult life and can't get a decent bagel anymore, but i gotta say, Manhattan Bagel Company is pretty authentic. You know that smell that you get when you walk into a good deli or bagel shop? Oh, yeah, they've got it. They have tons of bagels; it's almost overwhelming at first. I ordered a dozen to take home and had an egg one in the car. It was crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside- oy vey!- how i've missed certain foods. If i lived in New Jersey this would be a regular stop for me. However, I'll have to be content to make it a must stop on future trips. read more

The women store manager was extremely rude and unprofessional to me over the phone. I was requesting a refund that needed to be approved for Chow Now to refund me my money. There was a glitch and it was sent to Nj location and I live in PA. She was mad because It took 20mins to call the store and that I should have checked my email notifications within minutes. I explained to her that I went to the store it was supposed to go to and had to call Chow Now and thats why it took so long. She stated it was not her problem and hung up on me. Ordered ahead on line. Order ready 8:15am I arrive I don't see my order it's 8:26am. I ask the girl behind the counter she looks around and asks the grill cook. He points to the bag on the bagel counter. She hands it to the cashier who then makes my iced coffee. Too much 1/2 & 1/2 she tells me to retrieve my fruit cups from the fridge. I ordered through Uber eats this morning and received such a pitiful bagel that I can't even believe it. I ordered a toasted $4 onion bagel with garlic and herb cream cheese. There was almost no cream cheese on the ridiculous small bagel at all, and it wasn't toasted. I'm actually shocked they would send this out and think it was okay. I tried calling the store but it was an automated message, go figure. I will never order from this place again. I have never felt so ripped off in my life. I couldn't disagree more with the negative review of this particular store. I've been going here for years and have never had a problem with the food or service. They are friendly, and the food is a good value as well as good eating. There is always a manager present, and they make every effort to please. The bagels are very good. I especially appreciate the new bagels thins that are less bready and more friendly to those watching carbs. I do think that their strength is breakfast, but I also like the bagels sandwiches for lunch. I had the Empire Turkey today, and the manager threw in a small side of cole slaw when I asked if they had some. This is typical of my experience here ... we had two breakfast sandwiches, a lunch sandwich, and a couple sodas for around 17dollars, which is about what I expect to pay for that. read more

Terrible customer service! Ordered at the store, the cashier could not hear me, I had to repeat myself several times and she repeated my items back to me when she finally heard me. Then she asked me for my name, which I said and spelled 3 times and she spelled back to me incorrectly. I pay for my order and move to the waiting area. I wait over 20 minutes for 3 bagel sandwiches and 2 orange juice. Finally, my sandwiches are ready and I ask for the orange juice. I am told you didn't order orange juice, I said I did and the young lady even repeated it back to me. The manager comes over and asks if I have a problem. I explain what happened and he brings over my receipt which did not have the OJ on it. I said okay and I left. He yell over that I could purchase the OJ, I said no thank you and walked away. I get home and open the bag, the sandwiches were cold (and very skimpy). I only live 2 minutes from the store, how could they be cold if I was there as soon as they were ready? I have had catering from here and it is good. We occasionally get breakfast here in weekends. Had a very bad experience today with the girl on the cash register, very rude. She made waiting for our sandwich very uncomfortable with her angry scowl on her face. Not someone I'd want as the face of my business. She also kept yawning without covering her mouth. If I hadn't paid for the food I would have left. If I ever see her there again I'll just turn around and leave and won't order. read more

Lovley spot! We ate outside in the super cute gazebo. I had the cheddar jalepeno bagel with cream cheese (amazing) cold brew with almond milk and my boyfriend had cinnamon raisin with butter. Someone just needs to manage this location properly. It takes 45 minutes to get a pick up order which is absurd for bagels. There will be a line of 20+ people who all ordered online, and 20+ orders ready inside the pick up window, yet they don't have someone call out numbers or names. I have been going here on occasion for years. The manager and owner could improve their people skills, they could be considered rude. The bagels are small but ok and the prices seem fair.
