Supposed to be whitefish salad with tomato and onion. Hmm...

Called in an order to take brunch for my mom. Unfortunately the manager was on vacation, which seemed to leave chaos in the kitchen, and when I got to my mom's place, the sandwiches were literally empty inside! Whitefish salad ordered for both, but none on either one. See photos. The manager made good on it the next week. She personally made me two huge sandwiches (we could've shared one) and didn't charge for either one. They also had credited my card for the empty sandwiches received a week earlier. So that manager fixed a negative situation. On the plus side, the whitefish salad is kick ass, and their bagels are light and delicious. I also like that they put toppings on both sides of the bagel, not just on the top. This is definitely my go to place for picking up a bagel when I go to see my mom!

One of the best authentic bagel houses. It is a little on the pricey side but if you want really really delicious bagels, this is the place to go to. We had breakfast where we tried a spinach/egg/cheese on an everything bagel as well as the Lox on an onion bagel. Both were really tasty and freshly prepared. Lox comes with a heavy dose of cream cheese so be prepared for that. The capers in the Lox sandwich give it a really nice kick. The chai tea latte was OK, probably won't get it again. Hashbrowns are a little greasy. They also sell bagels by the Baker's dozen, half dozen, or individually. They provide freezer bags if you want to save for later. Parking can be cramped especially on weekend mornings but they offer additional parking in rear.

Again...pulled up today at 2:40 when they close at 3 and the open sign is on. Walk up and the door is locked and the girl flips off the open sign right in front of me. Lolololol. I served tables for 11 years and that's a no no In the industry. First time coming here after not coming for 6 months because of bad service. What a taste that left....

What is the number you can text your order to so your food is ready when you get there? It is located by the register, but it was too crowded for me to see today!

Their phone number is 215-658-0144.

The woman who took my order told me all about them and asked if I wanted to add one to my order. I told her no, but I would definitely be ordering one to go. With that said, here is our experience. My pastrami sandwich was very good. The rye bread was good, but the crust was very hard and I could not bite throught it. My mom did not care for her corned beef sandwich and said the meat had a decent flavor, but was cut too thick. She also could not bite the bread's crust. Our latkes were tasty and you can't go wrong with Dr. Brown's cherry soda! Now, the disappointing part. I ordered take-out, one small chicken matzah ball soup and one potato knish. I ordered with the same woman who raved about their kinish and guess what, she forgot to include the kinish in my bag. She brought the take-out bag to our table and assured me everything was there. I asked if the kinish was there, to which she said, "yes, as is the soup". Drove home over 30 minutes and no kinish. When I called them, the woman who took my order and packed the bag said, "Oh". Yes, she credited my card, but still....I was so looking forward to that kinish. If you're used to NYC deli, this is not it, but it is decent.

My wife heard about Steel Penny Cafe from a colleague at work who lives in Hatboro, so we decided…read moreto check it out on Thursday, February 12, 2026. We are glad we did. From the street it has a really cool look and the inside leans into an industrial style with a great aesthetic. It's a comfortable space with a nice vibe. We ordered a couple of cocktails: a lemon drop and a Manhattan. Strategically we decided to split a Detroit-style pizza called the Iron Pig. Good call because one square was the perfect amount for dinner. And now we have a few meals to heat up for the next few days. The drinks were excellent and the pizza was outstanding. Great flavor. Our server Ally was welcoming and friendly and top notch on service. It is the middle of winter so we weren't considering outside dining, but they have a great outdoor space near the street. Looks like a fun place to hang out. It's definitely a place we'd consider visiting again.

They don't have server tunnel vision, they work as a team and it shows! The vibes are so cool here. I mean, if you're gonna open a cafe next to a scrap yard, you have to lean in to the theming. I love the vibes, I love the appearance. The food is amazing top to bottom. First, their coffee drinks are always spot hitting, partly due to the fact that they roast their own coffee beans on site. The cocktail menu is always enticing an even though I'm not a huge drinker, I'll be working my way around this. The breakfast options are plenty and if you don't get their bacon you are missing out! The lunch sandwiches are served on a house made ciabatta style bread. Packed with fresh meats, cheeses and veggies. Every ingredient is perfectly seasoned and added delicately, not just items slapped on a roll. The Detroit pizza is what initially drew me in. While they have some options with more toppings, I'd say go for some of the more simple Detroit pies to really allow the famous crust to really shine through. My personal favorite so far is the white pie they do with roasted portobello mushrooms. I have only been for breakfast and lunch but with all the craft beer options I need to go back for dinner to sit and relax with some friends and family!

They serve pizza and a range of sandwiches and sides--looks like they even have pizza by the slice, at least for lunch. I was definitely interested. But we ordered breakfast online, so I picked up 2 of their smaller sized breakfast sandwiches. And I'm really glad we picked the smaller size because they were huge. I had an egg and cheese and it was near perfect. There must have been 4 eggs in that sandwich--all cooked thin and folded. The white American cheese was perfectly melted. And the bread was warm and chewy. I'm making myself hungry for it again as I'm writing this review. My kid had the bacon, egg, and cheese and was likewise impressed. And once they like a place, they will be back on the regular. And this is the kind of place that looks like it draws regulars. I'd like to try more of their range of options. The egg and cheese sandwich choice is usually nothing special, but given how much I enjoyed the half of that simple sandwich that I managed to eat, I'm guessing they do other things well, too. It's always a good sign to me when a place is nailing the basics. So, like my routine-loving child, I'm sure I'll be back! Also, we picked up the sandwiches, walked home, then ate them. If they lost any quality during that time, it was unnoticeable. They were still hot enough to need a few minutes to become an edible temperature.

Typical sub shop... you walk in and order at the counter and are greeted with fresh baked bread sitting on shelves behind the register. Staff was friendly and made some solid recommendations while we scanned the menu. Ultimately went with the standard 12" cheese steak. It did take a little longer than I expected to get our food but it was super hot and fresh (so hot I burned by mouth but that's because I couldn't wait to dive in). Good balance of meat and cheese and the bread had a nice pull making it the perfect conduit for the cheese steak. There is no indoor seating so be prepared to take it with you or sit at one of the outside tables in front the ice cream shop. Was later told by the locals that this was a great spot so we made a good choice. If you in this area, make sure you hit up Silvio's!
