First time trying Silvio's as I have a grown kid moving in practically across the street. The place seems like it is exactly what you would expect from the outside. They serve pizza and a range of sandwiches and sides--looks like they even have pizza by the slice, at least for lunch. I was definitely interested. But we ordered breakfast online, so I picked up 2 of their smaller sized breakfast sandwiches. And I'm really glad we picked the smaller size because they were huge. I had an egg and cheese and it was near perfect. There must have been 4 eggs in that sandwich--all cooked thin and folded. The white American cheese was perfectly melted. And the bread was warm and chewy. I'm making myself hungry for it again as I'm writing this review. My kid had the bacon, egg, and cheese and was likewise impressed. And once they like a place, they will be back on the regular. And this is the kind of place that looks like it draws regulars. I'd like to try more of their range of options. The egg and cheese sandwich choice is usually nothing special, but given how much I enjoyed the half of that simple sandwich that I managed to eat, I'm guessing they do other things well, too. It's always a good sign to me when a place is nailing the basics. So, like my routine-loving child, I'm sure I'll be back! Also, we picked up the sandwiches, walked home, then ate them. Wanted to make sure I grabbed a legit cheese steak while I was in Philly but was pressed for time. We were stoked to find Silvio's so close to our customer meeting so we gave it a try. Typical sub shop... you walk in and order at the counter and are greeted with fresh baked bread sitting on shelves behind the register. Staff was friendly and made some solid recommendations while we scanned the menu. Ultimately went with the standard 12" cheese steak. It did take a little longer than I expected to get our food but it was super hot and fresh (so hot I burned by mouth but that's because I couldn't wait to dive in). Good balance of meat and cheese and the bread had a nice pull making it the perfect conduit for the cheese steak. There is no indoor seating so be prepared to take it with you or sit at one of the outside tables in front the ice cream shop. I work in the medical field and left work today and all I wanted was a deli sandwich. The website said Silvio's deli was open till 7:45, and I arrived before 6:50. We'll to my surprise it walked into the deli and was greeted with are you picking up, I stated no I wanted to order, I was told sorry deli is closed we only have ice cream, now mind you I hadn't gotten more than 1 foot in the door so the clerked walked away rudely. So if you want a sandwich guess you have to get there before 6. Needless to say I will never try that place again, however, I left there and went to Ben and Irvs in Huntingdon Valley and was taken care of with excellent customer service. So I can't believe I have been living down the street from this local staple and finally experienced it after all these years! For starters, the new ownership is unbelievable! They really care about the community and their customers. Every time I go they suggest something new to try! The food hits every time. It's unapologetically no-frills, and they do it at an exceptional level. I have a reminder in my phone for their special roast pork sandwiches that are only available on Wednesdays! Their Thursday pizza see Kal's are great for the family, and I love their new ice cream window. The outdoor seating is great because we can literally walk there, sit outside in the nice weather, and walk back. This is a Hatboro staple that deserves more attention! read more

The business was sold a few years ago. I noticed with the new owners that the quality has gone way down, as well as the quantity of cheese and meat that you get with a cheesesteak. The cheese fries were extremely salty. Ugh. Prices have gone way up too. Silvio's is now overpriced and mediocre. It's a shame. Another place to cross off my list. Oh well. Silvio's is our go-to take our spot. The cheesesteak is great, their plain pizza is always on point , the variety of specialty pizzas is nice to choose from (we were obsessed with the pickle pizza for a while but had to try others), and the chicken parm hoagie is another go-to. They also excel in the freshness/ quality of their fries and other sides/apps and wings. I would have rated their wings average but many shops around here have wings that are overly small, seem freezer burnt, or the sauce is a bit off/ not enough given - we have never had any of those issues with Silvio's so I'd consider them above average. For years Silvio's was my favorite cheesesteak. Really everything was great. Now it has sold twice. The new owners have turned it into a food dump. They have gone way down hill. Tonight first person got a chicken blt wrap. One tiny piece of tomato. I small piece of lettuce. Tasteless chopped up chicken fingers and the wrap was crumbling. It was made lazily. I worked in kitchens for years. I would never let that be served. Next platter was the chicken fingers and fries. Old dirty oil. Fries suck. Again tasteless chicken. Forgot her bbq sauce. My cheesesteak was soggy. It's half of what it used to be. Bread not as good. Mozzarella sticks are how much$? They have been going down hill since the latest owners took over. Lazy and cheap. The rolls are back just like they were back in the day, and the hoagies are so fresh you can actually see them slicing the meat as you order. Known for their fresh soft doughy rolls, Silvio's has everything from sandwiches, hoagies (subs), steak sandwiches, chicken steaks, pizza, stromboli, salads, french fries, soups, and cookies. Their sandwiches are great and packed with meat. The chicken steak sandwich all finely cut and chopped white meat chicken. The rolls are soft and thick. Their white pizza was topped with dried parsley but there was very little, if any garlic in the recipe. I am thinking whoever cooked the pie might have left out an essential ingredient, as I've had the white pizza before and it was delicious. The crust is fabulous. The tomato pie was too overbearing because of the amount of sauce atop the crust. The corners are crispy and as you work your way into the center, it is more like bread. Overall, Silvio's is quality good steak sandwiches, hoagies, and more. They have limited hours and are sadly closed on Sundays, especially disappointing when you're in the mood for their excellent sandwiches, hoagies, and pizza, while watching sports. They follow all protocols for Covid. You can place your order ahead or at a window, and soon after your name is called. For bread orders, they ask that you call at least a day in advance; the rolls are a hot commodity, alone. read more

First off let me start by saying this place is already an upgrade from the previous owner. Had the pleasure of meeting the new owners, George and Tara, today. Super friendly and outgoing people. They have plans to clean up Silvio's and even add an ice cream shop! The shop itself was clean and you can tell they are doing some work to spruce up the place. The food was spectacular, had a cheesesteak with cooper sharp and a slice of the Sicilian. The steak was full and cheesy, while the homemade bread enhanced the entire experience. Love the place. Was really concerned when it changed hands but they kept the important stuff the same(rolls). The menu expansion is fine too. I typically stick to hoagies: Italian, turkey and plain steaks but recently tried the pizza and a buffalo chicken hoagie and all was good. The baked daily roll is pretty freaking amazing!! Open early so you can get your 9 am cheesesteak on. The greatness of the roll made other parts of the cheesesteak forgettable. Take-out except for 2 tables outside. If Crooked Eye Brewing allows outside food, that could be a great dinner spot. read more

Upon walking in you instantly get the feeling of a little hole in the wall type of place, but as you should know... those are usually some of the best places to get food from. In fact you should just start heading over there now and try it out for yourself! Not convinced yet? Here's my experience. My cousin got a regular cheesesteak and I had a buffalo chicken cheesesteak. The portions were great and the taste even better. These sandwiches were dripping in the juices they were cooking in and it just added to the experience. Silvio's has been a neighborhood favorite of ours for 35 years. Their homemade rolls and breads were simply unmatched. They were hands down the best hoagie shop around and had amazing prices. We were very sad to hear that our favorite Deli had changed ownership. While the name is the same it just isn't the Silvio's Deli we've loved for so long. The rolls do seem to be homemade, but they are not the signature Silvio's rolls. It probably would do the new deli good to change the name. The food is good but it's just NOT Silvio's. read more

The chicken salad was good however the rolls were a disgrace. They were doughey with no crisp to them at all. They sandwich was heavy and the bread was tasteless.
