The important thing though, is that I finally went there today and got a cheesesteak with fried onions. The first thing I did when I got home was weigh it. 2.3 lbs of cheesesteak goodness. Naturally, the enormity of the thing comes at a cost: $19.10 out the door. Being honest, I don't know what started this trend of "more food than you can possibly eat", but it's "a thing" now, so what can you do? Buy it, and share or save half for later. But, back to the steak. I'd say the closest competitor that I'm aware of would be High Steaks in Ambler, but in terms of meat to cheese ratio and flavor, I'm giving Verona the edge. In fact, I'd say it's the best or tied with the best cheesesteak I've ever eaten, and I'm old - so that's saying a lot. So we've got a great a steak that will easily serve two, a friendly staff, and prices within the realm of what you'd expect for August 2026. In addition to those tangible things, I take some joy in seeing that the choke hold once around the wallets of locals by that other place that shares it's name with it's location, has finally been broken. Competition is a great thing, and when you're greeted with a smile and a "thank you" that accompanies your order, that makes a huge difference, and is very refreshing. Overall: Delicious cheesesteak, friendly service, and they seem to appreciate that you're giving them your business. That's an A+ in my book.

Good call because one square was the perfect amount for dinner. And now we have a few meals to heat up for the next few days. The drinks were excellent and the pizza was outstanding. Great flavor. The grade is enhanced by the homemade originality of shoehorning a fresh takeout kitchen inside a working gasoline dispensary, and the reasonably good effort made to turn out good grub. Service was friendly and efficient, and the staff well oriented toward the breakfast and lunch trade, in addition to pumping gas. "Horsham," is definitely a bit of a curiosity.
