Ordered the dozen bagels pre sliced with two tub cream cheese. It is a great price compared to some more costly places in the area. They were soft and chewy consistency. So please please correct me if I'm wrong but outside of Bagels and Bakes in Rotterdam, this place makes the best bagels locally. I am really not a fan of chains like Bruggers. They are always really fresh and their assortment of flavored cream cheeses are really good! I would like to especially shout out for the jalapeño salsa cream cheese and the garlic herb cream cheese! The bagels are GOOD. As a Long Island girl, I think it's really as close to home as I have found upstate. AND they give sufficient, near-downstate levels of cream cheese. A competitor I shall not name has left me quietly despairing for their thin little hint of cream cheese. Their bagel sandwiches are also really good. The service is fast and friendly, although there is also an option to place the order ahead of time and pick it up, which is great. We did a bagel brunch with them for a small party and got the box of coffee. I was really happy with the price and inclusion of creamer, sweeteners, and cups. We had the bagels pre-sliced which was a big help and they supplied us with two tubs of cream cheese per dozen, which is good. Now if I could get an egg bagel (not egg on a bagel, egg bagel) or egg everything bagel, I'd be over the moon, but as is, I am super glad this place exists. read more

From someone who got spoilt with having bagels from Brooklyn I have to say this place is up there. I no longer have to have hubby schlepp home bagels every time he goes down to the city. The bagels are made just the way I like it, with a chewy exterior and a soft interior. They have a variety to choose from and several types of flavors of cream cheese. Ordered six bagels and container of Lite Veggie Cream Cheese. -- Bagels are chewy, doughy and crispy all at the same time which is perfect in our opinion. -- Lite cream cheese is full of small pieces of veggies which makes for a delicious spread. Ordered a warm "Little Italy Hot Roast Beef Sandwich" that came with Italian Cheeses and roasted peppers on focaccia bread. (Could have had it on a roll or bagel if wanted) --It was outstanding! It came with a pickle and my choice of potato salad which was so flavorful I wish I had ordered an extra pint. It was better potato salad than many delis and diners I have frequented. Ordered two cups of soup: *Lentil *Minestrone (with white beans which was a plus) Both were full of appetizing flavor. Delicious. Chef quality! NOT an afterthought menu item. Ordered a Cinnamon Bun which was just mediocre, a little on dry side even though it was freshly made. It needed a moister more tender texture. It was forgettable. Will be going back to sample from the large breakfast/brunch menu, buy bagels etc. They were sold out of the popular Spinach Bagel which I am eager to try. Still very good bagels but sandwiches are not always made to order especially when the food is delivered. Doesn't seem to be a problem when you're ordering to eat in. Although, very tasty, my breakfast wrap was not made to order. I ordered it with grilled onions and grilled peppers and jalapeños, it came without any onions with regular peppers and no jalapeños. We also ordered a lox bagel sandwich, although it was made to order the people making the sandwiches need to be conscientious of cleaning their work surface because the salt bagel shouldn't have random poppyseeds and sesame seeds stuck in the cream cheese center of the bagel. Manhattan Bistro & Bagel is located in the Socha Plaza in Glenville, which is independently owned and operated and was once affiliated with the larger Manhattan Bagel Co chain. I used to stop for bagels at the former Clifton Park location. The place is order at the counter and there are several tables for eating in. MBB offers around 18 kinds of fresh baked bagels to choose from (plain, cheddar, onion, chocolate chip, whole wheat, rye, pumpernickel, cinnamon raisin, poppyseed & more). Also offered, several gourmet cream cheese spreads, breakfast dishes & sandwiches, fresh baked goods, salads, soups, 18 creative lunch sandwiches (available on French or Artisan rolls, bagels, wraps, or pesto focaccia), cold drinks, and fresh ground coffee drinks. The prices here are reasonable. My favorite bagels here are the cheddar bagel with Tijuana hot cream cheese and the cinnamon raisin bagel with honey walnut cream cheese. The bagels made here are puffy and have a good soft and doughy texture inside. Bruegger's bagels have a more firm and chewier texture. For lunch, I'll definitely order my favorite sandwich on the menu, which is the Pancetta Grilled Chicken Tostini (tender chicken breast, crisp pancetta bacon, lettuce, tomato, and garlic & herb cream cheese spread - I get mine on a cheddar bagel) served with a small cup of macaroni salad or cole slaw and a dill pickle spear. Unassuming breakfast and lunch place tucked away in a plaza off Saratoga Road that makes its own bagels and has a modestly original sandwich menu on both bagels and rolls. The service is very peppy (order at the counter, but sit down in the large seating area) and the hot food was very well prepared. It does, however, suffer a bit from what are obvious food-service ingredients, maybe done a bit on the cheap. So the food is adequate in the end, through no fault of the serving/cooking staff. The bagels are made in-house but are sort of in the Bruegger's - store bakery end as far as quality and originality. Certainly fine, and they give you the 13th bagel in the baker's dozen, a lost practice I appreciate. I'd definitely go here over a Dunky or a Bruegger's given the option. All that said, the interior's kind of sad. Broken neon, a soda machine with all but one of the taps broken, stuffing coming out of the seat cushions, dirty worn carpet, and a decorating scheme (indoor street lamps?!) that looks like it came out of the mid-80's and hung around then for quite a while. It feels like you've walked into a well-watched VCR tape. Decent for a fly-by and generally recommended but for refueling, not for dining, if you follow. read more

My family's go-to bagel place. They make really good fresh bagels and we especially like the homemade cream cheese, especially the veggie which has real chunks of vegetables in it. I personally think the bagels are a little on the small side, but they are still great! My personal favorite is a salt bagel, and it really depends on the day how good it is and whether there's enough salt on it. I would rather have it loaded with salt than not enough. The past time we visited, I definitely almost mistook my salt bagel for a plain bagel, a little disappointing. But I will keep coming back here for my NY bagels time and time again! read more

Recently used grub hub to have an order delivered. They refunded money's for part of order they did not include in the order. However when calling to have order rectified they were not helpful to get order set. The person answering the phone was kind and trying to help however in the background you heard another employee commenting not kindly about not being able to get order and pickup myself. Bagels are good but not anything else. I ordered online and then arrive to pick up, they end up out of everything bagels and scallions spread, so it becomes pointless and wish i could have known before I went there. Also the food was built incorrectly, missed some items, their online order isn't clear with descriptions of each food. When I asked them about why there isn't any in it based on what I ordered, they didn't apologize or anything, just take it back and added n let me go on my way. The whole family love coming here or grabbing a little something to go when we're in the area, often as a special treat. We've been coming here for years and they are always very polite and welcoming. I personally love their breakfast wrap; it's the best in town. The coffee's great too and they have a good selection. I randomly stopped in here an hour or so before they closed because I was starving and didn't eat anything all day. I ordered a sesame bagel with the salmon cream cheese. I love salmon/lox on my bagels, but I hate when I order lox and I got take a bite out of it and the whole piece comes out. This however, was a different type of cream cheese. It had chunks of the salmon/lox in it! It was really really good. I will go back when they are fresh and open. The inside of the place is a little dumpy and super outdated. Manhattan Bagel is a good place and a cut above Dunkin' Donuts in terms of quality and variety, but I wasn't amazed by my visit to Manhattan Bagel. Been there a few times. The product and food is very good and fairly priced The employees can be great to awful depending on when you're there. I'm there one time and the young lady was outstanding and came from behind the counter to bring my food, then on another occasion a different young lady acted like she wished I wasn't bothering her. Food is good....They need to train better or select better help. I know in this day and age it's difficult when places like this most likely pay min or slightly above but perhaps the owners should impress upon the help that extra service would leave better tips in the jar. Avoid if possible. Service here is awful and the lady working was outright rude. Went in for half a dozen bagels, doesnt say hello but goes "What do you want" I ask for half plain and half sesame. She throw them in the bag and walks away. Didnt even take payment I used machine myself. Get home and half the bagels are poppy seeds. Drive all the way back and go to the counter and say excuse me I had ordered 3 sesame seed bagels but got poppy seeds. She snaps that she was with a customer which she was not she was making a sandwich, most people would say just a minute or okay ill help you out shortly. She comes over grabs the bag of bagels and slams it into the trash then throws in 6 bagels and shoves it towards me. I was shocked at how rude she was when it was her mistake. Never been into a store where so few words were said twice and none of them Hello, thank you, how can I help you. The bagels werent even that good. My wife and I visited Manhattan Bagel and ordered two sandwiches for lunch. The person prepping my bagel cut her thumb and then ran into the back room swearing. After this I had to ask the other employee to get a new bagel. With a reply of, "Oh, that's probably a good idea." This should have been common sense and standard practice. But I guess not. I also had to ask her to replace the knife. At which point she acted annoyed that I even made the request. Suffice to say, I won't be returning. I suggest that employees are trained a little better on general hygiene and overall customer service. In this case, there's some room for improvement. read more

Usually a fantastic place to go on Saturday afternoons to have my coffee and talk with the staff. Although today I decided to try lunch around 3pm. When I entered no one was in sight. Five minutes later an older lady came from outside, I had seen her outside smoking but I didn't know she worked here. As she came in she said in a nasty voice "what do you want". I found it quite disgusting that she did not bother to wash her hands - not everyone enjoys cigarette smoke. I asked if there was any coffees left as there was none in their usual place. I am sorry that one person ruined my experience when typically enjoy my large Jamaican Me Crazy coffee while I chit - chat with the young lady on Saturday afternoons. I will be going to speak with her this weekend about what occurred today. I am beyond disappointed. This is response to the review I left here yesterday- today I was surprised with a phone call from the young lady I thought was the manager all of these years. Several years later I finally asked this young lady her name, Mikayla (most likely spelled incorrectly). I had given her my phone number quite a few months ago as I am a landlord in the Schenectady area. Mikayla called her around 11am today in regards to this review. To start, I was beyond shocked that she & her boss even paid much attention to this. Most places do not try to right any wrongs, let alone make a personal phone call. Mikayla started off the phone call apologizing profusely that I was treated in such a way. The phone call itself was enough to make me rethink my review and quite possibly give this place my business once again. Mikayla explained to me that the owner had sent my review to the manager to be shared with the entire staff. Mikayla assured me that the employee responsible would be spoken with by the owner. Not once did she ask me to change my review. She asked me politely to come in this Saturday and she would personally make this right. I guess the whole point of editing this is to allow her bosses to see how much she went above and beyond today. I did not expect her call. She did not criticize me for what I said instead she kept apologizing and assuring me that the company did not want to lose my business. I will be returning this weekend. I hope something is done to stop this employee from ruining others experiences but I'm sure that when I come back this weekend I will continue to be a customer for years to come thanks to Mikayla. I've been to this place for bagels on several occasions and usually get a breakfast sandwich with which i ask for an extra egg. There may have been one time when they actually put the extra egg on the sandwich. Honestly dont think i will be going back here anytime soon as I'm starting to get pretty fed up with the unfriendly/rude/ignorant staff. The bagels and cream cheese are good and all but this is just starting to get rediculous the way these people treat their customers.
