This school (Formerly known as A'Lido Advanced Auto Academy) now located in 952 Mclean Avenue in Yonkers offered me a terrible learning experience, specifically from an instructor (if you can even call him that) named Prem. The man is unapproachable, rude, and unhelpful. I learned more taking lessons with my relative than with this man. For the 5hr video, the conditons were not conducive for learning. They had more students crammed into a room than they can handle, the television was not viewable for the people crammed in the room because the people in the front blocked the television. You would think since they can mount the flat screen television on the wall for all to see would be an obvious thing to do, but no - it's sitting on a television stand not high enough to be seen. So they have 15+ people in a very tiny room in the summer with no Air Condtioner (they claim it wasn't working, I think they're just being cheap to save money on their electric bill - I'm not kidding). The sheets of paper they were handing to us was to the condition of being nearly destroyed, it was wrinkled, stained, and already scribbled on. It looks like it has been recycled for years on end. I am paying nearly $300.00 for a 5 lessons, are you telling me you can't print new sheets, or at least ones to replace ALL the dirty and worn out papers you are giving us to recycle again? I am not making this up, whoever had to endure the tortorous video from 945-3pm on July 28th 2012 can attest to this. This place is a waste of money, the "lessons" are horrible. Please avoid this school, my opinions on the lessons are from my experience with Prem Advani - do not take your lessons with this man. He is unprofessional. Avoid like the plague. 2 Months ago I did not know how to drive at all nor did I intend to have a license this quickly. I am a student who took driving lessons for 2 months with Karen and the 5 hour class with Kevin. Now I have a license and I am able to drive almost anywhere. I purchased the $500 driving package which included 9-10 lessons, 5 hour class and Drivers test. Karen worked with my schedule very well and was able to reschedule whenever something came up on my end. She picked me up promptly and dropped me off exactly at 45 minutes. Karen was quick to ask me when I want to take a test and I'm glad she did because everyone else is on a waiting list. Of course, when I wasn't riding with Karen, I would practice what she instructed me with my mother or boyfriend for the extra practice. Kevin's 5 hour class was funny and informational. He made sure the 5 hour class didn't feel like a 5 hour class. The space was small and there were many students, which might have been a fire hazard. I actually learned a lot in this class and he gave people the opportunity to ask questions which is great. So Recap: I would def recommend taking driving classes with Karen and would most likely recommend her if somebody asks me where to go. Her car is small and great to start with. Today I passed my road test! And its all because of Alex!! Before coming here I had started learning with my husband who had no patience, and said I was too stupid and I will never learn how to drive. That's when I thought Its time to find someone professional that won't scream at me every time I make a mistake. I'm so glad I found Alex! He was God sent, he gave me so much confidence and told me everyone can learn how to drive! Best part he teaches you everything you need to learn before you take the road test. Parking was also a breeze. I also asked Alex what about potholes and he said you have to learn how to avoid potholes because it makes the examiner feel like your a safe driver. If you hit too many of them it will make it look like you didn't take any driving lessons. This was true when I took the road test the roads were full of them and the examiner said "Wow your a good driver, who taught you how to drive?" I said Alex! And he was impressed. I owe my drivers license all because of Alex! If your looking for a professional teacher to teach you how to drive I highly recommend taking lessons with Alex! It was totally worth it! read more

I had the pleasure of learning from Mr. Alex himself. He is a pain in the bottom but he pushes you to succeed! He is far and consistent with his instructions and is very honest about areas that need improvement. He has taught 5 people in my family and I will continue to use his service for others in my circle of friends and family. Practice makes perfect! The more you do and the better you become. The road test is a piece of cake as long as you get you practice in. If Alex feels your not ready he isn t going to set you up to fail! Manhattan Driving School is the best school in the Yonkers. After taking lessons with Alex, I passed my road test the first time I have ever taken it. He will tell you exactly what you need to do for the road test. He is patient, but strict about your driving technique and safety. You have to show him you are working hard to learn how to drive properly. I went ot another driving school in Yonkers before taking lessons with Alex. I did not feel confident in taking the road test with the other driving school because my technique was questionable. Also, after taking classes with Alex and looking at youtube videos, I realized some of the techniques the other driving school had taught me were wrong. Anyway, I recommend anyone to take classes at Manhattan Driving School, just make sure you take enough lessons and practice alot more when your road test date is getting closer. A great school to learn how to drive ... or in my case to relearn how to drive. I got my license during my senior year of high school, but didn't drive once I had it. Now, years and years later, for various reasons I need to know how to drive. My instructor Alex was great. He's patient and can judge your skills of driving in every lesson. After the lesson is over he goes over with you what you need to improve on so you can do better the next time... This really helped me become a safe and confident driver. After taking a few lessons with Alex he got me to drive on the highway for the first time... I was really surprised how fast I learned through him. I highly recommend the Manhattan driving school. I took the five hour class with Kevin and he made the class very enjoyable and funny. He is very knowledgeable. Also Kevin was my driving instructor, very patient and polite. He worked around my busy family schedule and was always on time for my lessons. I purchased the ten lessons package included with the road test. Kevin picked me up from my home and drop me off afterwards. He gave me confidence and taught me how to be safe on the road. He answered all my questions and dispelled any doubts I had before. I thought that I would never be able to drive in New York, since the only place I'd ever driven before was in Florida.
