Dr. Richter is treating a complicated extraction and implant, Dr. Han expertly replaced a broken crown, and Dr. Wolf just rescued me two hours before I had to leave for Europe. When my tooth suddenly cracked, he saw me immediately. There was no time for an extraction, so he ingeniously glued it together and shaved it down to eliminate impact for the week I would be away. While the cleanings have been solid, I have always felt pressured to get Invisalign at the end of each cleaning, even when their own orthodontist has previously told me I was not a good candidate. Today, a very dysregulated employee acted in the most unprofessional manner I have ever experienced. She asked about the shirt I was wearing and I told her I couldn't remember the name of the store. So, with her surgical gloves on, she grabbed the back of my shirt to read the tag without asking. In what world is this appropriate behavior? Let alone hygienic! There was no way that I was going to let this scattered and highly inept technician put sharp metal objects in my mouth! This was the final nail in the coffin for this place. I have never felt so humiliated. Shame on you all! I will be taking my business elsewhere! read more

I've been going to Manhattan Oasis Dentistry for quite a few years now. While the quality of care there is very good, in the past year or so, they seem to have changed their billing practices, so that even though you may pay for your visit at the time of service, you can usually count on being billing for a balance at some later date, and that balance isn't always a trivial amount. For example, I went to MOD to have an onlay (partial crown) put in, and paid $800 at the time of the visit. Four months later, I received a "statement" saying I had a balance due of over $500. This statement was actually just an email that showed the balance amount and a "Pay Now" button - no explanation of the charges. I had to call the office to ask them to send me a proper statement, that showed total charges, what insurance covered, what I had already paid, etc. This had also happened to me with a simple check-up and cleaning too, and when I was checking out, the person at the desk told me I had a balance due from my previous visit (which had been many months before). The billing practices were not like that when I first started going there. Despite the good quality-of-care, I won't be going back. None of my other care providers are as unpredictable in terms of what I will be billed for, and when I will be billed for it. read more

Worst office ever. DO NO GO THERE. They are so unprofessional. Both Linda and Sharon, at the front desk, have no idea what is going on. They pass the buck. They were supposed to call me back with some answers and never did. I must have called them at least 10 times and they always said they would call back and NEVER did. This practice has taken every precaution to avoid the spread of Covid-19, including a special apparatus that purifies the air around one's face when seated in the dental chair and a special iodine mouthwash when one is first seated. The cleaning I received was the most thorough I have ever had! Dr. Richter actually took the time to show me the X-rays of my mouth and to explain what the images meant. I recently completed my invisalign treatment with Dr. Han and couldn't imagine making the decision with any other dentist. Dr. Han is extremely personable, a clear expert, and takes pride in her job. I've never been one to enjoy visiting the dentist, but Dr. Han made the experience comfortable, worked around my schedule, and made herself available for any questions and concerns. Not to be dramatic, but I once dreaded dental visits and now I look forward to them. Both Dr Han and Dr. Wolf are outstanding dentists. I can recommend them both wholeheartedly. I have had various procedures and even a dreaded root canal that turned out perfectly thanks to Dr Wolf's expertise. Today he spent almost half an hour explaining things to me so I felt comfortable with what he was suggesting. He really really listens and does everything he can to accommodate my many questions and concerns. He is also a perfectionist and never does more than is absolutely necessary. Was a longtime patient of this place for 20 years, but recently, Dr. Babushkin (who I would have nothing bad to say about) seems to have left, and this place has just turned into some sort of boiler room version of a dentist's office. Each cleaning is followed by a 15 minute sales pitch encouraging the patient to get some expensive procedures done, and it seems that the 'rack rate' for a cleaning and x-rays is $645, which is bananas. That said, the waiting room always seems to be empty, and I feel very comfortable that they are taking appropriate COVID-19 precautions. And I have no complaints about the service - has always been good. But unless you just have too much money and need a new way to get rid of it, you may want to look for other options. read more

I've been a patient at this practice for many years. Thought the clinical care was first rate. Sadly I had to leave after I had a #metoo moment with Dr. Richter- shortly after he purchased the business from Dr. Babushkin. The incident was was witnessed by his hygienist and office manager who both gasped when the comment was made so this is not my imagination. I tried to discuss it with the office manager the next day. We had a brief conversation, she acknowledged it happened and said no malice was meant then she told me she had to go to a meeting and would call me back- she never did. I've never had to leave a practice- or any other type of service/ business for this reason. It saddened me this happened. I agree it the comment may not have been said with malice however I will not let the excuse of it being a "joke" slide. It was uncalled for and disgusting. No one should ever have to feel they are being the brunt of a sexual comment, especially when being treated in a clinical setting. read more

Had been a patient there for almost 20 years- in the past 5 it has gone downhill quickly. New dentists each time you go in...no one knows your history. My last visit there was the straw that broke the patients back. I had been in for a cleaning, where I was sold a very expensive night guard and told that I would need to return for the night guard fitting and a sealant on my teeth. When I showed up for that appointment- the doctor (another new doctor who I had never met previously..) asked if I was ready for the Novocaine. When I explained that I was there for a night guard fitting and a sealant, she left the room and came back with an Ipad. Once we confirmed that I was indeed the correct patient, she told me that I was NOT there for a sealant- I was there to have several fillings replaced. When I told her that no one explained this to me ahead of time, she said it was at her discretion what needed to be done. When I again protested that I wished someone had explained this to me ahead of time, she pulled something up on her Ipad and told me that 'according to the previous dentists notes it had been explained.' I guess the implication was that I was lying or that I was too dense to understand what had been discussed. Nope. Don't need to confusion on their part or the condescension. read more

Absolutely fantastic. I needed a quick fix on extremely short notice. I called completely out of the blue and needed an appointment the next day, and they got me in. Linda was so kind in helping get my appointment sorted and Dr Richter was amazing. I wasn't even sure he would do what I was asking as I'm not his patient and many other dentists had turned me away. I called to schedule an appointment with this office based on their excellent reviews. Unfortunately, I never made it past the initial phone conversation with the person tasked to book my appointment. I said that I was interested in making an appointment a few weeks down the line and that I intended to pay out of pocket. The person I spoke to wanted to get all my information and aggressively nail me down for a time, which was fine. I let her know that I needed to know the costs since I was indeed paying out of pocket and that I was looking at several places so I that there was a possibility I might call later that day to cancel the appointment. She said she was not going to put me down for the appointment since I was "on the fence," which was okay in and of itself, but it was said with a disrespectful tone. She continued in this vein for a while at which point I mentioned that I felt a little disrespected by the way the conversation was going. I apologized if I didn't make it clear initially that I was shopping around although I felt she pushed me to make the initial appointment anyways without stopping to let me ask questions. The conversation continued in a frustrating fashion that seemed to imply I had committed some wrong and I eventually thanked her and told her to have a nice day to close the interaction. read more

I have PTSD from a childhood of dental appointments with 4-6 fillings and NO anesthetics. To put it bluntly, my mouth was a war zone when I first started coming to Manhattan Oasis Dentistry. After a year and a half and nearly a dozen visits, my phobia has been tamed. I've been impressed with the dedication and commitment of every member of the staff from the dentists to the clerical help. After a major procedure, I was called and texted into the night to ask how I was doing. Both Dr. Richter and Dr. Han are excellent clinicians and compassionate people and I can't say enough good things about them. This is top quality dental care, and while somewhat pricey, it's worth every cent. I cannot recommend this practice highly enough. read more

I recently relocated to NY, and this was the closest dentist to my new apartment. I was able to make an appointment with ease. They called the day prior to my appointment and asked if I could come in an hour early, so I accommodated. I had my cleaning done (the hygienist was great) and then I waited for the Dentist. A woman came in and asked if I wanted to come back for my exam. No - that's why I was there - why would I want to come back? She said ok - the dentist will be a few minutes. I waited 20 minutes (on top of the 5 minutes I waited before) - no dentist. I walked out and explained this to the front desk on my way out. She simply stared at me and offered no explanation or apology. I will not be back. read more

Worst customer service ever. Do yourself a favor-- GO ANYWHERE ELSE. If I could give it a lower rating I would. Short story- I had to get some dental work done-- first time to the building and I was a little turned around so I was running about 10 minutes behind-- I called them 5 minutes before the appointment to say so and they told me to come anyway. I was seated by the hygienist-- the doctor looked inside my mouth-- literally-- open your mouth-- look for 10 seconds (no tools- nothing)... and was told we needed to r/s. Fine. that's annoying but I'm an understanding person. Disappointed that I came all this way just to have to come back. Then-- receptionist--. after 15 minutes of run around trying to find a time convenient FOR THEM -- I'm able to book an appointment. Day of the appointment-- I am contacted to say that since the hygienist is out-- they need to Reschedule AGAIN. So at this point-- I decided it was time for Manhattan OASIS (HA!!) Dentistry and I to part ways and book myself elsewhere (DR. ROSENCRANTZ IN BROOKLYN IS AMAZING!!!)-- I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT WHEN I RECEIVED A BILL FOR SERVICES!!! Staff is great and knowledgeable and work is done so quick and great that you're out in no-time. I had to do a crown and it took 2 hours for the entire process which is normally unheard of. After reading positive reviews on Yelp, I called up to schedule an appointment. I was very impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of the woman I spoke with and found I was actually excited to head to Manhattan Oasis. The waiting room is very spa like, the bathroom is beautiful (just thought it was worth mentioning). While I was waiting, Dr. Babushkin came out to talk to a parent of a patient he was treating and I was very impressed that he took the time to sit down with the parent. I was actually treated by one of Dr. Babushkin's associates, but before my treatment began, he did come in to welcome me as a patient. Again very professional, caring and attentive. Probably because it was my first visit, but my cleaning was done by the dentist rather than a hygienist. At the end of the cleaning, Dr. Babushkin came back to check in. Since it's been awhile since my last cleaning (changing cities, job and insurance put me behind) I am going back for some fillings and a deep cleaning. I will report back after my next appointments, but so far I would highly recommend this practice. read more

We used them for several years. Adequate dentists, but I finally left after an appointment where the dentist didn't bother to show up. They went ahead with the cleaning before letting me know that the dentist was out for the day. This was known ahead of time, and no one in the office thought that my time was valuable also and that they could have called and given me a choice to come in for a cleaning without seeing the dentist. As it happened, I had several issues I wished to consult with the dentist about. They told me I could make another appointment! No one ever reached out to apologize for the miscommunication, and months later still trying to get my records release to the new dentist, despite having filled out a paper request and and mailing it to them. They were also rude when I pointed out that I had already mailed this form. Do not recommend. read more

I recently moved to the UWS and was in desperate need of a dentist. Having had too many sketch-tastic dental experiences in the past, I wanted to 'treat' myself and find a nice, clean, but professional place - a place with a website, pictures, or something that would clue me in to what they were really like. After reading these reviews, I felt that MOD was exactly what I was looking for. Thankfully, Dr. Babushkin was under my insurance, so I called to set up an appointment. I was expecting a long wait- a place this nice is surely booked solid. Well, maybe it was sheer luck, but I got an appt. for the next week on the very day I had taken off of work! The receptionist, from the initial phone call to the moment I left, was purely and utterly nice, funny, and professional- put me completely at ease. The hygienist hummed along to the '70's tunes on the satellite radio and joked that I was too young to know any of them. She showed me the proper way to brush and floss, explaining all the how's and why's of plaque and tarter (most of which I was content with not knowing - the thought of plaque as cottage cheese between my teeth is not something I want to think about too often ;). I was surprised at this, as I had never been shown the "correct" way to brush/floss, and of course I was not doing it correctly. Then Dr. Babushkin arrived and continued the examination. He was funny, gentle, and did not rush his time with me, explaining certain issues I had, taking pictures of my teeth and showing me on the flat screen facing me, which, I have to admit, was pretty freakin' cool. He explained treatment, gave me referrals, and was, all in all, the best dentist OR doctor I have ever had. As long as I live in NYC (hell, even if I move upstate or *gasp* NJ), Dr. Babushkin will be my dentist. read more

I hate the dentist. I only go once a year, sometimes not even that much, so when I go, I want it to be painless. I stumbled upon Oasis through my insurance company website and I am SO happy. It was beautiful inside, not your normal cramped 1st floor dentist office. The office also deploys all kinds of technology, including DVD's on what treatments I was getting and why. it kind of demistified the whole dentist's torture. Plus some kind of satelite radio tuned to current music and the staff is really friendly and professional. If you can get in, GO. read more

I have been waiting over two months for them to cut me a check for what the insurance company gave them after I already paid out of pocket. I can't recommend Manhattan Oasis Dentistry highly enough, ESPECIALLY if you are a nervous patient. I have been going to this office for 8+ years, and I've always been happy with my care. My experience with a tricky extraction finally prompted me to write this review. Having never had an extraction before, I was extremely nervous about the procedure, to the point of tears. The entire team was patient, gentle, caring, and kind. I never felt rushed--they took their time to explain the procedure and answer my questions in detail. More importantly, I never felt embarrassed about my anxiety. Did I mention the nervous tears? They were very understanding about it--they created an environment of such calm professionalism that I was able to relax and trust them. Best yet, I had NO pain during the procedure or at any time during recovery. The post-op directions were clear and comprehensive, with a back-up plan in case I needed more aggressive pain management (I didn't). I am extremely grateful for their excellent care and compassion--I recommend this fantastic team to everyone I know! read more

I came to Dr. Samantha Lynch January 2014 for a routine root canal and crown. She worked on it and the next day I developed terrible pain. I was in agony and she seem not to care. I also develop osteomyelitis in November 2014 in which I think was linked to the infection I got from the root canal process. She never prescribed be antibiotics. Now I am sitting in the dentist office getting the crown she did redone and clean. Dr. Samantha Lynch is an awful person and she needs her dental License revoked ! I am seeking damages in malpractice. If anyone knows a lawyer me provide me with the information. read more

I was loyal customer of Manhattan Oasis for 4 years. Its an OK dentist office, but you really never get the same doctor twice. Most recently (and the reason I am writing this review) I booked my bi-annual clean up. I had a family emergency come up the day of the appointment and I could not make it. I called in the morning to cancel and I was told that I had to pay a 75$ cancellation fee. I understand that cancelling the day of the appointment is a pain, but the lack of flexibility by the staff on waiving the fee really surprised me - specially since I have been going to this practice for such a long time. Good luck for the rest of you and hopefully youll get better customer service. read more

Dr. Lynch recommended to fix a cavity although I had no problems with the tooth and I agreed. Immediately after the fix I started to "feel" my tooth and told Dr Lunch about it but she recommended wait for some time and come back later If I have any problems. So I waited patiently and scheduled a next visit. But instead of fixing the problem Dr. Lynch and Dr. Babushkin recommended to pull 2 adjacent teeth instead and refused to do anything. In the end, they: 1) Charged $52 copay 2) Billed my insurance company for emergency treatment of dental pain I would not mind if they did something but they did nothing. So, I had to find another doctor who replaced the filling and fixed the problem. The reason why I give 1 start review is: 1) Dr. Lynch did a poor job fixing a cavity; 2) Dr. Lynch and Dr. Babushkin refused to fix their poor job; 3) Dr. Lynch and Dr. Babushkin recommended to pull 2 unrelated wisdom teeth claiming it would fix the problem. To summarize, they did a poor job and recommended unnecessary procedure. What can be worse? read more
