My friend had an old-fashioned slumber party for her birthday and the best part of the old fashioned sleepover done grown up style was having spa services. She hired Mani 2 u to come in to provide manicures and pedicures in the morning. So basically we spent a morning hanging on our pajamas on the comfort of the couch getting our fingers and toes done. Also we were sipping on Bellinis so we were really chatty. The ladies at Mani 2 u just fit right in with the festivities. They brought in their own mini salon in Rubbermaid containers with about 20 polish colors. Pedicures were done in a small foot tub that was cleaned after each use. They used absorbent pads that were disposable under their work stations. Over the course of a few hours about seven of us took turns. While it wasn't a fancy spa experience (no massage chairs, no jets in the foot tubs) it was relaxing and they were really thorough. Because I wasn't getting my nails done at a salon, I think I discounted the lasting power of this manicure. Usually I'm really delicate with hands after a manicure at a salon, but this time, I was peeling pomegranates, changing the starter line in my car (twice), washing dogs, all without gloves after the manicure. You know what, it's been a week later, and there is not a single chip. It's not even gel nail polish. These ladies are meticulous. It was also fun getting to hear about how their business travels to hospitals, hospices and other places to deliver services. It's nice knowing this service exists and such great people work on their staff. Mani 2 U's prime territory is the Baltimore-Washington-Northern Virginia region. So keep them in mind for your next party, get-together, or if you know someone who can't make it out to get their nails done. Sharonda has been coming to my home for several months now. I usually get a gel spa pedicure, and I get a manicure with dip powder. She is fantastic. She is very professional and friendly. She's a great conversationalist too. I wasn't sure what to expect. She brought all of her tools and I was very comfortable. She had everything a salon does. I have lyphedema in one of my legs. She has several other clients that have it as well. She's very knowledgeable on the technical side of things as well. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME BOOKING WITH THEM! A lot like another review left here, they never showed up. I had booked this appt for my mother as a Mother's Day gift. 48 hours prior to presenting this gift, sharonda cancelled the appt due to having to attend an important meeting. They only spoke to me after I called THEM to ask what the deal was. I was told I'd be offered a 20% discount but had to wait four additional days after the appt date. I was told I'd get a call back on where to fit me in. To say the least no call or text was ever sent back to me even with me attempting to call and text numerous times. In fact my calls were purposefully declined. Out of desperation and no other company to choose from, I rescheduled the appt on my own. The day of the appt sharonda cancels the appt 15 minutes AFTER she is supossed to be at my house. Again no phone call or text. She is literally the most unprofessional private business I've ever dealt with. Don't waste your time booking with her. The entire process was a struggle. I'm shocked at how she keeps customers or makes a living due to how uncourteous rude and neglectful she is to potential new customers. DONT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY. In addition to be profession, courteous and reliable, she has the patience of a saint. At the time of my mother's first appointment, she refused services.
