This is one of the three Filipino restaurants I eat at regularly, the other two being Hadugan and Tita Celia's. All are in Carson, on Carson street. My wife says Manila Lechon is her favorite hands down. She loves the huge selection. They do have the best selection of the three mentioned above. They also have the best soup. I find all 3 fairly equal in other respects but have favorites at each place. One thing I don't like is that the place is large but packed very tight with tables. You enter through a door on the extreme left, walk the buffet line pressed up against tables on the left, continue walking around the back of the seating area to pay, go past the lechon counter on the right, and then either find a table or exit through a door on the extreme right of the place. Came here today with my husband for lunch to try them out cuz I have been craving Filipino food, and its near my husbands work. There grade is A for inspection which is really right for the place for it is clean. Food wise I would say that I had better ones. There price compared to other Filipino places is high for a combo. A combo for 2 item dish is $6.50! We ordered 2 combo's and total came out to be around $17.00! Reason for the 2 stars is because the place is clean and I give props for that, and the lady who served us was a sweet lady. Regardless that the place may be clean and all...the place is kind of small to dine in especially if they have people eating. We had to squeeze ourselfs to the register and to get to the seat we want. Food is okay but like I said I had somewhat better ones and price for 2 item dish combo was high. read more

This is filipino food, folks, served fast from steam trays and greasy as hell--hey, it's filipino food, what do you expect. Been coming here for a couple months and they're consistent. Very friendly service but...... Quality of the food needs help: Sisig: Hardly any meat, just a lot of fat and breading. What makes it worse is that the dish is soggy. If you want good sisig, go to Mami King. Lumpia: ordered 50 pieces, but its actually 25 pieces cut in halves, and it was over cooked. Heavy burned taste. Pancit: decent, but nothing to rave about. Certainly nothing to come back for. Menudo: Good flavor, was actually very tasty. I understand Filipino food is greasy in general, but this takeout order was swimming in a 1/2 inch thick layer of red grease. Overall, when you're in the mood for Filipino, you're not looking for fine dining, but given the fact that you're in Carson, there are a lot more enticing options in the area. read more

It's really a 3 1/2. I really wanted to give them the benefit of a 4 because the people behind the counter were super nice and they do the whole turo turo thing better then most Filipino joints but in the end, it's a turo turo place. It's tough to rave about a turo turo place. I think of turo turo as cafeteria food. It can be really bad or you can get a decent meal out of the place. We got a decent meal out of Manila's Lechon Manok. We got the beef steak, bbq stick, pinakbet, and turon. Most beef steak is an oily fatty mess. This beef steak wasn't overly oily but some pieces of beef were super tough but the marinade was good. The bbq stick was sweet and the meat was tender. The pinakbet was tasty without being overly salty. I picked out all the bitter melon because I dislike bitter melon. The vegetables weren't too mushy and overcooked. The plate came with a bowl of sinigang soup to pour over your rice. It was a little oily but had a good sour flavor. The turon was a nice finish to our meal. The banana was cooked through and sweet. The wrapper was sweet without being overly caked in sugar. You could bite through it and the wrapper shell crumbled relatively easily. I love turon and sometimes you get a thick sugary wrapper that's hard to bite through. It's the difference between a sweet crispy shell versus a hard sticky shell. This place is sweet and crispy. I would order the turon here again. While we were there, at least 3 people came in to order crispy pata or lechon. They also had chicharon and fried dilis. We are definitely trying that stuff next time. Our tummies could only take so much in one sitting. I personally think my mom makes the best Filipino food but if we need to go out and get some Filipino food, we'd come here again. Came here for lunch today. This place has declined after the new management took over maybe from 2 or 3 years ago. The quality of the steamed rice is so poor. Sometimes it is soggy but today it is gross. If you lived in the Philippines, you'll know what I mean when I say NFA rice. That's what I had today. Not a happy camper. read more

I actually love this place. I took my husband to this restaurant and at first he was uncomfortable with the whole ambiance because there are no menus to choose from. You just have to point at the food you want and they will tell you the name of the dish and what's in it. He fell in love with their "dinuguan" it's a pig's blood stew for those who are not familiar. We ordered "sisig" grilled pigs' cheeks and ears. We had to take this home and I had to cook it with my own seasoning. My husband likes it spicy. We also ordered pork adobo which is ok to me. I liked there vegetable cooked in coconut milk. For dessert we ordered flan which is too dry for me. We liked the cassava cake and the "bibingka" it's like a rice cake topped with margarine, sugar and salted duck's egg. read more

This place definitely serves some good ol Filipino food. Their food serving is good with free soup. They also have a good verity to choose from sea food to good food platters to fried chicken. However the service is a bit on the uncomfortable side. The slave driver that sits behind the register annoyed the crap out of me. She sat there and rang an annoying ass bell to let the lady behind the food counter know it was time to serve some food. Also there was a minimum purchase price for debit which is 10 bucks. I was a bout 30 cents short and instead of the greedy ass slave driver steering me to something in a decent price she had no remorse making me feel like I owe her her money and order some freaking chicken skins which totaled my tab to $15 hmmmm typical stuff. I give them 4 stars for their good food variety and well prepared also. I get them no stars for service because of the stingy greedy slave driver. I would eat here again but will need to make sure to keep my internal ear muffs on. read more

We love Filipino food but have no idea what anything is so we ask lot of questions, They were so helpful and we tried many of the dishes and even my 10 year old was happy with some very interesting dishes. Generally pretty good place, although it can be up and down. The dinaguan is normally very good as are the chicken adobo, the pancit and the vegetables. Prices are reasonable, owner is friendly and usually on-site. Wish they served more extensive menu items like kare kare. read more

We saw this Filipino eatery on yelp and decided to give it a try. We went here today, Sunday around 4:30PM. There were no customers when we arrived. The place was kinda small with a few tables. We tried their halo-halo which I find too sweet. The turon was good. There was only 1 ukoy left and I took it. I really liked it because it was still so crunchy unlike other ukoys I've tried that cannot stay crispy till the end of the day. Also, it is not oily and it tasted good. We tried their nilupak, sweet suman in banana leaf, lumpia shanghai, sisig and kare-kare (no more meat, just the sauce and veggies). It was so nice of them to give the kare kare sauce for free in a small container so we can taste it. I like the sisig, it was chopped in small pieces and it was so crunchy! It comes with the soy-calamansi sauce and we mixed it to enhance the taste. The place maybe small or not pretty to look at but the food here really taste good. I haven't even tried their specialty which is lechon. Will come back again to try other items on the menu. read more

Great Pilipino food in a random strip mall. I heard that this place recently reopened, and I am glad I stopped in to see. Really modern kitchen and clean dining area. And most importantly, the food is excellent. All the traditional favorites are available plus some special entrees which change. I got lumpia as an appetizer - that ended up being enough for 4 people, and then rice with coconut pork and chicken adobo. The food is great. Sorry, but I lower my rating because of the quality of the food my family and I catered this past Xmas weekend. We ordered a Pancit Palabok platter and it was HORRIBLE!! My mother paid about $60 for that and it was very bland because only the top part had taste and there wasn't enough palabok sauce or ingredients for that matter for the rest of the noodles on the bottom. The top part looked beautiful but when you got to the bottom, it was just bland white noodles and not enough ingredients or sauce for the bottom layer. Very disappointing. What was even more disappointing was the barbeque sticks we ordered. That's one of my personal favorite Filipino delicacies so I was especially looking forward to that. But when I looked at it and especially smelled and tasted it, the quality was detestable!! It smelled like old pork meat that's probably expired and it didn't taste smoky and sweet like how Filipino BBQ stick is supposed to smell and taste like but instead, it had this disturbing sour taste like that of pork dipped in pig blood or Diniguan!!! Ewwww!!!! Pork can taste like that for that kind of Filipino dish but NOT BBQ sticks!!! We ordered about 30 sticks at $2 each so $60 in total--it was horrible!!! So about $120 dollars down the drain!! Pancit Palabok is supposed to be savory and saucy with that mouthwatering golden yellow sauce and all of the shrimp, boiled eggs, smoked fish flakes, and Chicharon crumbs and zesty green onions--BUT NOT THEIRS!!!! And Filipino BBQ sticks are supposed to be charbroiled to perfection with that heavenly smoky and sweet flavor--BUT NOT THEIRS!!!! I will never cater food from here again!!! I've been here a few times and always feel satisfied with the taste and quality of the food. I like the pork and chicken chicharon. Their pork and chicken bbq sticks are the best. The whole stick is stacked with meat not like other shops where they include the fats. Other favorites include shanghai lumpia, kare-kare, crispy pata, lechon kawali. We also order party trays often for some of our family events. Overall, the food is great and has a filipino home cook style taste to it. The staff are friendly and attentive. read more

Everytime my family & I visit to California, we have always stopped by and ate here. We came in March, but you guys were closed. This is one of my all time favorite places to eat . I love the food. I always get the kilowin na kambing and the barbecue pork . Soooo good. I definately recommend this place to anyone who likes/wants to try filipino food. read more

They are open again after the fire next door took the restaurant out. The food was pretty good, but is overpriced by a couple of bucks. I had the longonisa and tapa with fried rice and two eggs. The longonisa here is better than DJ's down the street because here it looks cooked at least where DJ's still looks slightly raw. The tapa was okay except that there are large chubs of fat attached to the meat. Gross. The fried rice had no flavor (throw some garlic in there why don't you). Whenever I crave filipino foods, i ended up going here because there is so much varieties to choose from. From the street foods like inihaw na tenga ( pig's ear ), isaw ( beef intestine ), bituka ( pork intestine ), chicharon bulaklak to every authentic pinoy dishes like sinigang, adobo, dinuguan and palabok. Everything you will crave for is in here. They even serving breakfast like tapsilog, tocilog, longsilog and don't forget the arrozcaldo with tokwa't baboy on the side. one of the worst filipino resto i been to! the old lady in the cash register look mean, the staff are serving u with a grumpy face and the food is simply bad! i ordered crispy pata i didn't realize that they heat up by drowning the pata in the half hot used oil! my god! que horror! and last night since i,m nearby, the next door filipino store, i decided to check out their food. since i feel embarass to go without ordering anything i decided to try their pakbet and stewed bangus! i brought it home hoping for some kind of a miracle!
