I really like Manny's. Particularly this location. Really nice open space, love the patio too. Service on this evening was just "ok". Not bad, but not great. He just was doing his job. And slightly underperforming. I ran out of water halfway through the meal, and finally got some when he bright the check. Wife and I split a skinny margarita. Well, it seemed like we got maybe 1/4 margarita and the rest water. It was so weak we drank maybe half and left the rest for someone else. Totally not worth $11.00! I won't make that mistake again. We brought three friends and they all seemed to enjoy their food, as did I, with the exception that my Manny Special was not really hot. Just warm. TexMex should be served bubbling hot. Can't touch the plate hot. That's the downfall of Manny's for me. Other items could be served warm and be ok. Not enchiladas, rice, beans. The cheese should be bubbling. I'm not sure I'll be back unless they make some adjustments. I hope they do, but I realize lots of people are just fine with the way things are. Having issues with chips falling out of new containers. The food is awesome but making changes don't always work. Bring back the bowl and save the chips. read more

I'm quite familiar with the now-closed Manny's from Uptown. This location was way too loud. We had trouble hearing the waiter and each other. Chips are very corn-flavored and a little on the thicker side. We got the Manny's queso - but we changed it for the queso blanco. Next time we'd also ask for some pico, but it was delish. I had the brisket tacos as usual and they were on point. He had the cowboy tacos and he really enjoyed them and the sauce that came with them. Sadly, he didn't pay attention to it coming with a verde rice - which isn't as good as their regular rice or the beans he would've preferred. David had the pollo con hongos...which is a huge skillet of onions, peppers, mushrooms and fajita chicken. He was super happy with the plate and it easily could've fed two. She had the taco salad - which isn't in a big taco shell, but just the chicken in a little shell off to the side of the salad. Service was super slow. We were in the back corner and felt like we were being treated like step-children. But, they're newly open to the area so here's hoping they find their stride. read more

Generously giving a 3 star review because my experience was just meh. I love the establishment's building itself as the inside and outside is decorated very trendy/modern. Our server was not very friendly and/or conversational. The food was mid, lacking a lot of flavor but atleast was visually appealing. The water (I'm assuming tap which I usually don't even mind but...) tasted gross so I asked for a Topo Chico instead and was given it in a dirty mug with plenty of visible water spots. Not to mention it was $5 for one bottle, wth?! I just think there are better options for Tex-Mex in the area. read more

Yesterday I went to Manny's for lunch with my in-laws. I had chicken fajitas, FIL had steak fajitas, MIL had chicken tortilla soup. I went to bed last night not feeling great, I woke up this morning with violent food poising, my FIL was also sick all night. We usually like going here since my son can run the turf strip outside while we eat. We've been going here for quite some time now and this is the first time we've ever had an issue, so I won't say I don't recommend it as we do love this place, but if you were there yesterday 11.5.25, im curious if anyone else is feeling sick. I guess we just had a terrible dish yesterday. I'm not sure if it was the veggies or the rice/beans as those are the two common things I had with my FIL that my MIL didn't have. I'm currently breastfeeding our 3 mo baby girl also so it's been a rough morning to say the least, and I've only been up for 2 hours so far. read more

First off, Tex-Mex isn't my fav cuisine of food and I now know why. It's because I haven't had Mannys. I came here not really expecting much but you walk inside to a beautiful and conveniently located restaurant and it only gets better from there. Great customer service!! As others have said, service is UNACCEPTABLY slow and neglectful here. Food is mediocre with a handful of dishes above average. We've given this place FOUR chances since they opened but last night as a party of 2 (it wasn't busy, just steady) was the final straw. Too long and frustrating of an experience to type out. Huge shame because we want The Station to succeed. Manny's Lakewood doesn't consistently provide horrible customer service. I recommend Gloria's or Frankie's instead if you're looking for TexMex in the Sachse/Firewheel area. read more

Don't come for the chips but all the meals I've tried are wonderful! We like to get grab a quick brunch here during the week. Most of the time we get the Manny's taco plate-basically fajitas, but already made and a great price. The decorating is very modern and clean. And there's a little grass area outside between Brass Tap, which is great for little ones to run around and play cornhole. read more

Manny's is a secondary location I believe making it now a franchise restaurant; we came here because of the new developments from The Station and it was always busy. This review is written after 2 visits now; I am firm believer in not writing poor reviews without a second chance. The service seemed rushed; our waiter seemed like it was inconvenient for him that we didn't know what we wanted when we were first seated. BUT, that wasn't that much of a turn off; it may just be a cultural thing like how the best Asian restaurants have rude servers. Fair. The food itself was mediocre at best. I got the steak quesadillas, the guac, 2 beef tacos so that I can have a diversity of options. Most lacked flavor and creativity; majority were subpar to any Tex Mex and authentic Mexican restaurant. I have no idea why this restaurant is rated with three stars! This was my first time checking it out. We came during the dinner rush. I saw that there was a lot of people, and was expecting a long wait, however as soon as we walked in through the door we were kindly greeted and quickly seated! we could tell our server, Javier, was busy, but he attended us like we were the only table he had. The unlimited chips and salsa is dangerously addicting. Not your typical water down flavorless salsa. As for the meal it was prepared quickly and was made hot and fresh! The dishes were very flavorful! Beware of the sunset sauce, it is DELICIOUS, but definitely has a nice kick of heat. I could tell that everybody at this location seems to be doing their job with a good attitude! Kudos to the manager for also making sure everything is running smoothly! read more

Today my wife and I were hungry for good Tex Mex. My first thought was Manny's Lakewood. We drove from Sunnyvale to the restaurant. It was very busy as usual. I wanted Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas and the waiter says sure we have it we can make it for you with the Number One luncheon special. Great service as always. We had our food within 10 minutes and it was fresh and very hot. THE TASTE WAS PERFECT!!!! Wife got spinach mushroom enchiladas and she said they were delicious..The place has been updated with beautiful pictures and was very clean but always is a great place to have great food. Service was awful. Waitress and Manager both argued that what they were put on my French Toast was Nutella. It was very clearly chocolate syrup and gross. Anyone who has ever tried heating up Nutella knows that it will never be a syrup form without heavily diluting it with something else. The fact that the manager still tried to call it Nutella was beyond shocking and repulsive. Yes they have other products they make with Nutella and have it on sight but that is not what they put on the pancakes or French Toast that they charge you extra for. It wasn't even the same color as Nutella. Included a picture as evidence. I paid for my entire party since I was the one who recommended we try this place for brunch. This was our first time visiting Manny's. We live in Sachse, so it was something new to try and being nearby was a bonus. First impression was not good. I didn't care for the ambience. The place is very bright and a bit loud, like a school cafeteria. I would like to try it at night when it isn't so bright. I liked the bar layout with the tables in the back, but no dark corners here. It's bright. Service was really good. The waiter was a bit gruff, but still very attentive. Maybe he was just having a bad day. Just going to say up front that I give the food a 10. I ordered thd Shrimp Salad with the spicy vinegarette. It was SO good! I'd order it again even if i had to sit out front and eat it on the curb. The salad by itself was great, but the spicy vinegarette on top was perfect. I would love to know how they prepared the shrimp. O-M-G, as they say. My wife ordered the beef fajitas and loved them. She said they were better than her favorite Mexican place. One note... we both tried the refried beans and thought they were straight out of a can. They didn't suck, but had a wow factor of zero. Overall, I'd give the place a 7.5. I'd like it more if the atmosphere was better. It needs a dark corner. read more

This was our 2nd time at Manny's in 2 weeks. The food has been very good. Fresh and flavorful. Generous portions. We've had the fajitas, ceviche, shrimp quesadillas and chicken tortilla soup. All delicious. House margarita is good. Needs a little something but overall it's good and a large serving. I consider it almost a skinny margarita because it's lite on the mix which isn't a bad thing. Just needs a lime. Where the restaurant goes down is the outside patio. It's nice and shaded and fun mariachi music to make you feel like you're at a resort in Cancun. Just close your eyes. However the flies are also like you're in Mexico. They need to invest in a discreet fly trap or zapper. The other negative is that they share the outside space with Brass Tap next door. Last week about 8pm they were doing an obnoxious trivia game that was broadcast outside so you had no choice but to hear it - even though you weren't at Brass Tap or participating. No way to have a conversation or enjoy the outside atmosphere. Nope. You had a person who sounds like Part time Justin on Kiss 106.1 shouting the whole time. Today at lunch all was fine except for the flies and then 2 little kids started running and screaming up and down the shared grassy area. One kid was with a parent at Manny's (who should have reined him in) the other kid had a parent at Brass Tap. Oh - but it wasn't just a parent. It was a server from Brass Tap. Apparently you can bring your kid to work and they can just be running and screaming disturbing people who are paying to eat there. Granted the server mom did come out with a game to try and get the 2 kids to play - but really? This is how you're running your businesses? The people with kids weren't the only ones there. If they had been - no problem. But be respectful of other people who are trying to enjoy the space and their meal. Don't let your kids run around like hellions. Raise them better. I'd go back but I'd be hesitant to use the outside area. read more
