Update, 2/19/2026: We tried Arboleda's again this evening. Wow! What a change! I had the Special - Carne Asada Tacos - and, they were amazing! These were 3 slightly crispy corn tortillas with carne asada, slices of avocado, and the best white cheese! They made a great decision by changing to charro beans from refried beans. We're very pleased, and so happy that we now have a Mexican restaurant so close by! read more

As a resident of Waterview, I would love to have a good Mexican restaurant at the entrance of our community...I have eaten here several times. Unfortunately this is not what very good. It seems like they are trying but miss out on the details of good Mexican food. An example are their almost inedible refried beans. I mean how could such a basic item taste like gruel. State law prohibits but legal issue is murky due to court cases and Attorney General opinions but lack of transparency on the additional fee until presenting the bill has left a bad taste in my mouth. What a freaking train wreck. Management, you really need to take a more active role in managing your business. Girlfriend ask me about picking something off the menu, which I was very hesitant based on other reviews but it's what she wanted. The portion size is no better than a Taco Bueno platter meal for their Fajitas for one and for the price, you have to be kidding me. The Rowlett location didn't even get her order. Needless to say, somethings go beyond money. We were supposed to have this takeout order along with a football game on TV but alas, she took a gamble on this place and the house always wins, we lost. What a great surprise that the food was absolutely delicious. The restaurant is the perfect size for a great lunch or dinner. It is clean, tables have good spacing, and friendly, knowledgeable, servers. Matt and I had dinner there a couple of days ago on his recommendation. We were not disappointed. We started with the usual chips salsa. Initially, I thought was a little too spicy, but I adjusted to it with a soda's help. Our server,Mia, was so patient and helpful. When we asked for more time to decide what we wanted, she gave us plenty of time and never made us feel rushed to make a decision. She took excellent care of us. When we ran out of chips, we didn't have to wait because another server noticed and replenished the chips without our having to wait. We ordered the "Max" ( hopefully this is the correct name) plate with a tamale,enchilada, chile relleno, rice and refried beans. However, their menu called for the relleno and enchilada to be cheese. We changed them to beef instead. Let me just say that everything on our plates was well seasoned and delightfully delicious! The portions were generous and wonderfully presented. Arboledas's is definitely my first choice of places to go to for a hot, delicious , reasonably priced meal. read more

This little corner, semi alcove has had multiple restaurants over a few short years. Since it's close to home I really want very much for it to succeed. I really think Arboleda's has that thing to succeed. All my first impressions from a Tex/Mex restaurant start with fajitas. You do that right and I'm yours. While my local heart wanted to give 5 Stars my Yelp head says there was at least one thing to improve on- so a progressive 4 stars for new venue. When it comes to fajitas, the perfect layout according to my taste buds, is a medium cooked skirt steak with caramelised onions and the right mix of side items to score a taste-bud touchdown. Under cooked- no bueno. Over cooked - no bueno. So while my better half raved about her fajitas I was in turmoil. I had some perfect juicy steak pieces but some where crisp (over cooked). That made the onions really caramelised so that was a plus, but to me lacking on the meat presentation. When I backed up in my head to ordering, I was not asked about how I wanted my meat cooked. My bad. My overall vibe was its goood! And I will certainly go back. Armed with my particular taste requirements. I'll heavily suggest a medium finish. Save the afterburners. The service was great & our server was very attentive and accommodating. So service is a 5 Star. I was so hungry I did not get a dish photo but will snap away next trip- I hope! read more

First time visiting. We sat at the bar. Staff was all very friendly. Had read on Facebook that they were having cinco de mayo specials all weekend: $5 margs and $12 birria tacos. Apparently that was only for the Royce City location. Seems to me if you only have 3 they could all be doing the same specials. Frozen margaritas tasted very artificial. Like a melted lime popsicle. Their flavorings were poured from bottles. Opted for beers after that, but they were super foamy. Good size though and cold. Since the birria was not on special we had fajitas. They were supposed to come with steak, chicken, and smoked sausage, but they were out of sausage. Seems like you could send someone to the store. So we just had the steak and chicken which were both very good. Loved the salsas as well. Not sure we would go back. It wasn't super convenient for us but it's good if you live on that side of Rowlett. read more

They serve two different salsas and both were excellent. The margarita, let's just say it'll get you where your going. I'm not usually a big Mexican restaurant fan when it comes to my choice of where to go eat. When I think of Mexican, I like to go to more authentic taquerias or more authentic style restaurants. That being said, I felt like this was a nice compromise for us with a good offering of food that can satisfy that Mexican sabor you might be looking for. I've tried it a couple of times and my rule now for Mexican restaurants is: if their chips and salsa are not good then, I'm out. Food not great either. Nice ambiance but the food is a no for me. The chips are hard as a rock the salad looks and tastes like tomato sauce. We gave it two more tries thinking we caught them on a bad day but still the same. The food was just not good dry and the fish plate was not good the fish tasted like it was frozen and thawed it just tasted like water no flavor or texture I wish we had a good Mexican restaurant in this area.
