Been here several times in the past. It has always been good and this time was no exception. We always seem to eat here outside of the normal lunch/dinner rush. When we arrived Sunday mid afternoon, there were only several others tables of customers. Got greeted and seated right away. Our server was super friendly, and got us settled in with menus and waters. We immediately ordered some guacamole, which is fresh and chunky, with excellent chips. We ordered some drinks, which included a couple margaritas. Our server explained that for only a few more dollars we would essentially be getting two more margaritas, so we took their advice. We ordered several different entrees, including the special, Calamari Calafia (squid steak). Everything came out in short order, was hot, well seasoned and generous portions. Everyone was raving about the quality. There was a Burrito Bowl, Al Pastor Burrito, Al Pastor Tacos. My Calamari Calafia was outstanding. It came with a Jalapeno Cream Sauce that mildly spicy and an excellent addition to the squid steaks. I love calamari and this was probably the best that I have had. So, I went back to Manny's for the first time in several years, and I probably won't be going back again. The "spicy" margarita was bland despite the jalapeño in it. I was, honestly, shocked at how little flavor it had. It essentially tasted like watered down tequila with a little jalapeño flavor. The posole was equally bland, and my burrito was essentially flavorless as well. Honestly, you can get better food from at least four other places in town and play less. Service was slow and grumpy to the point that I debated not tipping, and that is something I would never typically even consider. read more

We are staying at the Hilton next door to this restaurant. When we checked in last night I inquired about Manny's. The front desk told me it was just ok food and very over priced. We had hockey this morning, decided to give manny's a try for tacos despite the front desk's advice. When we got back to hotel today about lunchtime we parked in front of the hotel, in what appears to be a common parking area between the hotel and Manny's. Manny's lot was COMPLETELY empty. We went into hotel to freshen up with plans to grab tacos at Manny's asap. Before I even got up to my room, someone from the restaurant came to the hotel looking for me, saying it was distasteful that I would use their parking lot. Note that there is no signage anywhere indicating what parking spot belongs to whom. I went out to move my truck. Stepped into the restaurant which was still completely empty. Let the hostess know, politely, that we'd planned to eat there but because of her concerns with where I parked we would not be patronizing them. Rather than say 'come on in, let us serve you' she instead said 'that sounds good, can you move your truck now?' Surreal. We've since heard from multiple people that the place is very overpriced, the food is lame, and the customer service is horrible. 3 hours later. Parking lot is still empty. You'd think they'd want a few vehicles there just to trick people into thinking they had some customers. read more

The waiter that "helped" me was unpleasant and even grumpy. The margarita was bland like watered down tequila. The enchiladas were more like tacos and chicken was dry with very little flavor. I never write reviews but felt this should be vocalized. I always tip above 20%. This is a first for me to not leave a tip at all. read more

Manny's is one of our "go to" places in Eau Claire. Great food and service. One of the best steaks in the valley, and their soups and seafood burrito are always good. We also love their wine selection! read more

The waitress was nice but they were severely understaffed as it took over 20 minutes to even place our food order. I ordered a fajita with shrimp. Most places I have been take the tail off not this place so I bite into the tail and all I feel is crunch in my mouth. Eww gross. They don't have a pop machine so when you order a pop they bring you a bottle and a glass and you have to pour your own. Traveling from Idaho to Chicago,staying overnight at hotel next door, grabbed a set at bar (solo trip) only appetizers at bar (liquor rep ordered from full menu) ordered nachos?! Big disappointment ,mostly chips little shredded meat , a teaspoon of sour cream and a modest helping of pinto beans. Asked for some salsa (nachos are very dry) charged a extra $2.00. Have been here a few times now. I have had a chance to sample their menu and I am impressed. It is a nice place to bring family and friends over for dinner. The menu selection is large and has many different varieties mostly revolving around seafood. It has ample seating space so the likelihood of a wait prior to being seated is low. Decorations are nice and ambiance is soothing. Our waiter was very friendly. Wait for food after order is quite long so it is a good idea to order an appetizer. Main entries are very delicious and food was warm. Dessert was average. Everything was good but the prices of the food are considerably high. Expect a decent sized bill! read more

Wow!!!! This place was perfect! Make sure to try the ceviche!!!!!!! The menu is more 'high end seafood' than your typical mexican. My wife LOVES getting the lobster claw enchiladas! The jalapeno cream is to DIE for! I do suggest to ask about what's in the dishes. We were surprised on one of the burrito dishes to find it filled with a bland bean mixture (not listed in the description). read more

Nicest Mexican restaurant in the Chippewa Valley - Eau Claire, Lake Hallie, Chippewa, et al. However, not the best food by any means. Brand new (well, 3 years old now) building, gorgeous interior, nice bar area, this is very much a great date place, or someplace you could take business partners there, or take grandma out. However the food is barely better than average, and the prices are high. I am giving it three stars because it does offer a nice dining experience, but the food is just ok and the prices are high. read more

Tried to place an order over the phone and manager kept hanging up on me and told me to stop calling her!

The food was pretty good, but the service was lacking. I ordered a frozen margarita which tasted like tequila poured over crushed ice. I asked the server if it is pre-mixed or not, because it has no flavor and just tastes like tequila (I've had plenty of margaritas and know what they taste like). He just informed me that it was mixed by the bartender and that "the frozen ones don't have much flavor that's why "on the rocks" is better". Ok? That could have been a nice suggestion earlier... or perhaps offer to swap the full drink out for something else? Then as I was talking to my family (reunited and catching up post-Covid), we are standing by the table in an empty side of the restaurant saying our goodbyes and the same server cuts through our group to start clearing the table. Don't cut through a group of people who are having a conversation and getting their stuff together to leave - it's not a busy night! I received a gift card to this establishment and decided to go: because everyone likes a free meal. I won't return....ever again. Just saying. It started out with the waitress bringing water glasses to my table, and then promptly spilling mine all over me. I'm a very even-tempered person, so I just asked for a towel and waited. After five minutes of sitting at the same table and being soaked, the waitress never returned. Finally: one of the table bussers noticed I was soaked, came over, brought me a towel and seated me at a different table that was drier. (I'd just like to state: the busser knew very few English words but was very apologetic and very polite. I was extremely impressed by her generosity.) Then my waitress finally came back (towel-less) to take my order. She didn't apologize for what had occurred, but I figured if she was embarrassed about it, I wasn't going to bring it up, just keep moving on. So I ordered my food. When it arrived it was pretty bland. I ordered something that was supposed to be chipotle with lime, but it had pretty much zero flavor and was extremely dry. The waitress never came back to my table after serving my food and yet again the friendly table busser had to clear dishes, refill my water and ask if I wanted my check. I went to the front to pay my bill and speak to management about the waitress, just to throw it out there that I didn't have an ideal experience, and she literally said "well what do you want me to do about it?" An awesome surprise in the heart of Eau Claire! This restaurant was pretty great, I must say. We started with the nachos and they were insanely great. I've never really been that into nachos, but these were fantastic! I am dreaming about them as we speak. My pina colada was quite tasty and had just the right amount of alcohol in it, which was excellent. I was a huge fan of the salsa that came with the chips & salsa we ordered - it was really fresh and had great flavor. My entree was the only part that was slightly disappointing. I had ginger grilled swordfish, which was perfectly fine but seemed to be lacking in flavor. It was just okay, nothing special. Our waitress was super prompt and really friendly. Manny's is more of a seafood restaurant than Mexican. Yes I know, a lot of authentic Mexican food is seafood but yeah. I decided to try Manny's even though I'm not a seafood person and it was so-so. It gets 2 stars because for the price, I expected a lot more. Most items are $16+ and mostly seafood items. Drinks: Margaritas were good but tasted the same as all the other Mexican restaurants in Eau Claire. The small was $9 and the jumbo was $12. Appetizer: We got the cheese dip and that tasted very similar to the white cheese dip at Cancun and El Patio. Cheese dip was $7. Entrees: My wife ordered the Chimichanga which was average but I prefer the ones at the other Mexican restaurants because they're covered with the white cheese dip. I ordered the Camorones "Faro Viejo" (Garlic Lovers) and I wasn't a fan. To be fair, I'm not a big seafood person and after eating that, I'm still not haha. This item came with 6 shrimp on a bed of white rice and cost $22. Maybe it was the strong fishy smell that made it unappetizing but yeah, not the best. Overall I was highly disappointed because of the ratings on Yelp. For $75 with tip in Eau Claire Wisconsin, I expected to be blown away, but it was just average. Upon arriving at the hotel next door, I parked in a spot between the restaurant and hotel entrance to check in. After checking in and returning to my vehicle to get my belongings, an employee steeped out of Manny's front entrance to scream at me to move my vehicle. Mind you, there are no signs stating that it was a designated parking spot for the restaurant and there were approximately 2 cars parked in the entire huge lot. What a way to treat prospective customers! I stayed at the hotel for several days and didn't note more than 5 cars in their parking lot at any given time. Might be a decent place to eat but after being screamed at from across the parking lot it's pretty plain that customer service is nonexistent in their establishment. Manny's was a much nicer experience than I was originally expecting. I met my mom in Eau Claire since it's the halfway point between the two of us. We decided on Manny's for lunch since it's close to the mall and we were planning on doing some shopping afterwards. That said, it was a lot nicer than the typical mall area restaurants. The decor was really nice. It looked like it was recently updated or decorated, they had nice tables and a really large menu. The food was great, like I said, I wasn't expecting much from a Mexican restaurant in Eau Claire, WI but I was really happy with the food. We got guacamole and chips to start and then we split the chicken enchiladas suizas. The guac was fresh and tasty and the chips came out warm which was nice. Our server had them split our dish before bringing it out so we got our own plates with individually split portions of rice and beans. The enchiladas were really good, they had TONS of chicken, I was so impressed. Plus, the chicken was seasoned really well and the verde sauce was really good and had a nice bite to it. The corn tortillas were soft and tasty, yum! I would say that the only real downside here was the rice and beans weren't the best I've ever had. It was decent, but the rice wasn't the most flavorful. But, other than that, we had a really nice time. The service was great, our server was really friendly and checked up on us a perfect amount of times and was really helpful. If I'm ever in Eau Claire again I would definitely eat here! read more

Awesome, had the stuffed salmon, wife had seared ahi. It was amazing, nice atmosphere and wonderful service. For this area I was impressed with the seafood selection. Dessert was to die for, and reasonably priced. Glad we gave this place a shot, drove past when leaving the oakwood mall many times and never stopped. My husband and I have been going to this restaurant for at least a year now and we LOVE it! They have some of the best seafood Mexican food in the area. All I can say is - Jalapeno cream sauce!!!! It is to die for. They have great drinks as well. Their decoration is classy and elegant, they have outdoor and indoor seating as well as a bar with a fireplace. Fantastic restaurant, only I think it is misleading to call it a Mexican restaurant, I'd call it a Seafood restaurant with a Mexican flare. The fish tacos were awesome! The next time I'm in the mood for seafood I will certainly go here. They have a wide variety of seafood items on there menu infused with Mexican style cooking. The decor is amazing! It's one of the first things you'll notice. I love the coconut shrimp...as good as it gets. I've also had a burrito and they are "huge" in size. I did notice the menu prices are less expensive in the afternoon. If I remember correctly, the coconut shrimp was around $15-$16 in the afternoon and $30 in the evening. Other restaurants in Eau Claire do the same thing, so this was no surprise. If you want first class dining with a less expensive price then go in the afternoon. read more
