Then the 2 technicians, Zach and Linton, who came on time then went to work on solving my issue. They explained everything they were doing as they proceeded to solve my issue. They charged a reasonable fee for their service. I was totally satisfied and impressed. They all represent old fashion local customer service and professionalism that is very uncommon today. Holloways was a place I would recommend to others and was often the first place I would check when…read moreseeking a new appliance. That changed with my most recent purchase. I ordered a washer from Holloways. The sales person knew very little about the machine and handed me a pile of spec sheets as an answer to my questions. I bought the washer based on reviews from others, as the information from my salesperson was limited. I was ready for the delivery and made it as easy as possible. First issue was the washer would not fit through the basement doorway. Every other purchase from Holloways came with a request to measure to ensure nothing would prevent delivery. The delivery personnel had to take the unit back and I had to reschedule. In the process of bringing the unit in and then back out, the washer was scratched on both sides. I don't care too much about the scratches, but it is an indication of the lack of attention to protecting someone's home and purchase. The second delivery attempt was made and I cleared my basement and removed a panel wall to allow the delivery to take place using the hatchway. The delivery personnel refused due the very thin layer of snow on the grass. Fine. I asked them to put the unit in my garage and assemble the pedestal and washer. Instead, they put the washer in the garage, hoped in the truck and left. No assembly work was completed. On top of that they did not remove the broken washer I was replacing. I had to remove and discard the old unit, move the new unit to my basement, and complete the assembly and hook up on my own. In their haste to leave, they did not provide the screws to attach the hardware for the pedestal and washer. I have since found some of the sheet metal screws in my driveway. There are 22 screws that are missing. I have found seven. I will be submitting all damaged tire claims to Holloways for reimbursement. The delivery team left the screws in my driveway, so they are responsible. On top of the delivery experience at least one of the delivery personnel smelled like marijuana. It is legal in CT, but I don't want to smell it in my home. When I spoke with Steve the manager today, he had no idea why I was calling even though a sales person provided him with the background. He basically seemed bothered that I returned his call. The warehouse manager applied a credit to my card for my trouble. I certainly appreciate the partial refund, but I can no longer recommend Holloways based on my experience.

Most recently my Wolf Microwave/Convection oven stopped heating just days before the Christmas holiday. Gordon was at my home the same day I called to access my issue. Parts were ordered and the appliance was back in order by Saturday afternoon. I know I would have been without my second oven had I purchased appliances anywhere else and especially from a big box store. I would not consider buying appliances anywhere else. The repairman came and said he would have to come back because he can't repair the crack when the freezer is cold. So back he came over a week later. Went to Mannys in Canton CT to pick out a new fridge as I had 5 year warranty. The repairman was there and said it was a 50% chance it would work - not good odds. Thursday I got a call that my fridge is in and it would be delivered Saturday. I never heard what time they were coming so I called the store and they said it wasn't scheduled and next delivery would be Tuesday ugh! Of course I emptied and un plugged the fridge which is a lot of work. So now every time I need something from the fridge I need to get it from the garage floor and downstairs for the freezer. I have referred a lot of people to Mannys but not anymore. Maybe I should just get my money back and go to Home Depot.

The extended premium 60-month warranty is worth $0 but cost $160 per machine. Don't buy it! It may be in part due to the unrealistic regulations that manufactures cannot build a machine that last more than 2 or 3 years and therefore the logic to purchase the extended warranty. However, poor performance or featured cycles that do not work over time are just dismissed as "not covered but we can fix it for $$$$ or just don't use that feature" Customer Service is a thing of the past, now I purchase relatively inexpensive washers & dryers, no extended warranties and expect to toss them out every 2 or 3 years; how is that for saving the environment!

As mentioned, the staff was upbeat and helped us without delay including doing some needed good wrapping on breakable items. The store is located in the Shoppes at Farmington Valley shopping area, and remember, it's upscale not outlet. The cooking class area is really very attractive, but we didn't take any classes.
