So when I needed to frame an oversized art piece I got from friend as housewarming gift, I knew exactly where to go. Old house with sign over porch, few private parking spots on a side street - and two wonderful ladies who running the shop and will help you with everything you need. I can be quite picky with finishes and profiles that I already have in mind, and they went above and beyond to make sure frame will support art and the glass - they even called manufacturer to find finish I requested in particular profile. 2 weeks later, I was picking artwork up - so familiar but looking so different all dressed up, with simple white matting border all around, and solid brushed metal frame... It looked spectacular - the warmth of the frame brought up the warm tones in otherwise black-n-white picture, and the moment that was captured came alive. They helped me bring it to the car, and I could not thank them enough for the work they did. I will be back with more art - and to browse around gift items they sell at the shop as well.

Why would I pay $154.00 more - on each one! - over at M.A.F.? I doubt there would've been that much of a qualitative difference noticeable to the eye. Just take a look at the pic I've attached - a beautiful job! I got all 5 done for $100. Great quality and turn around was just as insane. Dennis had done in just a few days. They asked questions, explained the process, and made suggestions that worked. Everyone has a great sense of color and proportion, and all the attention to detail and documentation you could ask for when handing over your artwork. Folks, thank you for the technical (cropping, getting digital images out of my Mac and into Blick's servers) AND artistic education. With Tera's enthusiastic attitude one day and Xiao's patient, calm demeanor the next, I forgot to be anxious and actually had a good time. Prices were reasonable and definitely transparent. Some of my things were complicated and/or special, and worth the $$$ spent. On the other end, there was no attitude and no shame for being unable to spend a fortune on each piece. For instance, Maria was happy to take a low priced stock frame off the shelf so that the complicated 2-opening mat one item needed was affordable. When a pick up was enormous and heavy, Tera actually helped me out the door, down the block, and around the corner. She waited with me for an Uber to come and get it all home!
