There's no better place than coming here to grab some last minute crafting supplies. Things are slightly on the pricey side but luckily with the Michael's app you can get discounts. Things are kept nicely inside and it's well organized. Over the years they were able to make it look less cluttered. I have gone to Michael's for years. I recently did Christmas decor shopping and one of the ceramic santas i bought broke when I got home. I was able to get to the store to exchange it 8 DAYS later. (The return/exchange policy is 60 days). One of the employees named GINA, told me that I could not return the item. Word for word, she yelled at me "WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THAT?? ITS YOUR FAULT THAT YOU BROKE IT." I had my receipt, my credit card and my rewards number. I could not believe the way she spoke to me. I even called customer service because all I wanted was to exchange this santa. Customer service was extremely rude and told me that it was MY FAULT also. I WILL NEVER SHOP AT MICHAELS AGAIN. Very standard Michael's. Came in here to get paint to paint my sneakers. I needed fabric medium but nobody seemed to know what that was and the employees didn't seem very knowledgeable in paints in general. However, they were very nice and they pointed me in 5 different directions before my friend ended up finding it for me. Although not impressed, I do think they made their best effort. Although I think that the staff could be more educated on crafts when working at a crafts store. When I got to the checkout, the cashier was VERY nice. She gave me all possible coupons I could find and helped the price of my purchases go down significantly. I'm not sure if this is something they do at all Michaels stores, but it was definitely a pleasant surprise to me when the cashier gave me discounts I didnt even know I could have. read more

I've been shopping here for a few years now. When I used to make jewelry, I would buy a lot of my supplies here. Now, I'm into lettering art and drawing. Michael's has a good selection of art supplies, my only issue is that it's more expensive here than on Amazon (even with the store coupons). Michaels is one of my favorite places on earth! I love creating little home decor for my apartment so I am totally obsessed with Michaels. Anything that you can possibly want to create or make can come to life at Michaels. One of my favorite things here are they're flowers. If your doing a large project it can become pricey to buy the individual stem flowers but they're faux flowers are really pretty. You can really tap into your creative side here. Its also very conveniently located across from the Staten Island Mall so you can "kill two birds with one stone" as they say and head over there for some shopping as well. I have always loved this store but as the years pass by, this place gets more and more ridiculously expensive. It's pretty absurd the prices of basic things such as a piece of wood with a few words scribbled on it, is $50!!?? This is supposed to be a craft store, to come in and buy a ton of things and NOT break the bank. For some reason, the manager is always by the registers with an attitude talking to the girls who work behind the register which makes me uncomfortable for them every time I'm there. I recently ordered an item on line which clearly stated that the item was in stock. I put all my information in for the item to be picked up in store. It took about an hour for an email stating that they didn't have the item in stock. It clearly said the item was in stock. I was really upset that i was debited by Michael's for the item that wasn't in stock not once but twice. I contacted Michael's customer service and they say it could take 3-5 business days. Ok so in the meantime i'm out of money in my account. I will never recommend pick up in store at Michael's. If your going to pick up an item in the store ask for a manager. read more

My review is for threads and framing. They are always out of threads I need for stitching project! You should take a lesson at other stores in other states. For the same price they are really well organized, clean and at the place they should be. And also bad service at Framing department. If you do not know how to stretch fabric for needlework framing, do not take an order. The frames are very nice, you have nice choice of wood, plastic here. But if you plan to frame something other than portrait, do not waste your time and money. read more

Came here multiply of times just because...this store sells arts and craft stuff...there's not much to say...there about ten people working here... I never really actually purchased anything here because why would I lol...the store is pretty big...about ten people working here and four rejester to check out... They sell other random stuff to ...but if you need crafty hand made equipment s you come here... I personal think this place is a rip of due to the prices bringing extremely unreasonable... It's just wood and glue...doesn't have to be like four five dollars for a stick of glue... There is a bathroom for customers and the parking lot is huge...there is a good amount of people shop here when school is in section... Since this is Staten islands only craft store I feel they take advantage of their customers and raise the prices alot. The sales associates are never really on the floor to help customers and you find yourself walking around for a while looking for help. The lines in this store are outrageous due to the few cashiers that are to busy talking to each other about their social lives than actually focusing on getting the line taken care of. This MICHAELS has what you need for your crafts and decorating. They give coupons in the paper and on your phone. BUT, only two people on register. Always. Long, long, lines. When I'm vocal, they add one more cashier. Today, I had to walk out once again due to the LONG wait time. Why? Because they don't want to pay a cashier. And most people, not me, are willing to wait. This will not change. It's a shame bc I like their products. read more
