I have been here in the past for a meal but last night my friends and I came for cocktails in the upstairs bar which was super cozy. They had dirty martinis and I had the Dill-licious gimlet which let me tell you was AMAZING! It's the perfect mixture of dill and mint and it tasted like summer in a glass. I came here on a Saturday and decided to sit in their Beer Garden right next to the river which was a great decision since the weather was great and the background noises very relaxing. The server (I wish I caught her name) was very friendly and had great recommendations. I tried the "I Just Crush A Lot" sour beer and it was AMAZING!! Came here for the pizzas and I wasn't disappointed. Definitely recommend the truffle shuffle pizza - although quite delicious, I couldn't discern any truffle taste . On my first night in DC, I had a shandy that I thought was pretty yummy, and the bartender told me it came from a brewery in Ellicott City, so on my drive into Baltimore, I took a detour to check out Manor Hill Tavern. Apparently the tavern is connected to but not owned by the same folks at the brewery. It's also seemingly one of the only spots in town that's open seven days a week. Finding parking was surprisingly difficult on a Sunday night, but I circled around until I found a spot. The place seemed pretty packed, with folks waiting for tables, but since I was just there for the beer, I was sent upstairs to the bar. A couple of really nice bartenders were on duty and helped me right away. I got an amber beer which went down smooth, and I opted to get a pizza too. Heads up: If you're vegan you can basically sub out any pizza for a vegan option, but be certain to ask about ingredients, as no one pointed out the white sauce isn't vegan until I asked. I like spice and smokiness, so I opted for the Holy Smoke -- Alabama White BBQ, Tavern Blend Cheese, Cheddar, Smoky BBQ Sauce, Pulled Chicken, Pickled Jalapeños, Corn, Hardwood Smoke -- according to the menu. The pizza came out super quickly and it smelled like a campfire... in a really good way. The pizza was tasty and the crust was also realllly good. I ate half of it and took the other half to go, which ended up being another meal. And I can confirm it tastes good cold too! I'd definitely come back here, particularly on a warm day when the patio is open (it was raining pretty hard when I was there, so sadly, no outdoor seating). Stopped in for lunch on a Monday with family, since many other restaurants in town were closed. I had the Margherita pizza. All pizzas are half priced on Mondays. The pizza was very good. The rest of my family enjoyed their food too, although not as much as the pizza. Our waitress was kind but we waited a long time to get our food for the place not being super busy. You gotta get the Tavern burger. Came with a group of 5 and all of us got it (per my recommendation) - it was delicious. Thick and tasty beef patty, delectable bacon jam, nice cheese melt, and a thick bun. A perfect burger. It came with a few side options included or some additional ones for an up-charge. We also got beers and cocktails, everything was great, maybe a tad pricey ($20 burger). The service unfortunately left much to be desired. Upon arrival, our waitress came to say hi and take alcohol orders, said she'd be back with water. Never came back with the water but came with the alcohol which took some time. So we all sat without water for even longer. I placed my drink order at another part of the meal, and I had a question on it, so we did specifically discuss it. She then brought a different drink. She noticed her mistake and was quick to get the right one. Ultimately no huge deal just some things to work on. She was able to split the check by what we ordered which is a huge plus and really appreciated. Overall we had a nice time, it's a beautiful restaurant, and ended up staying and laughing til close. When we walked in, we were greeted by the host. He was very friendly. We sat in the pizza oven section. My kids loved looking in the pizza oven as the pizzas were cooking.. Our server helped navigate the menu for us. We started with the street fries that were soooo good, that I forgot to take a picture of them because we started chomping when the plate hit our table ha ha ha.. I had the tavern burger that was certainly a 10 out of 10. That sauce with the bacon jam.....dreams are made of that combo!!! My kids had a cheese pizza and pepperoni pizza. Manor hill tavern is charming, laid back, and fun to eat at. In the heart of old ec, it has all the charm of downtown. The food is good and the beer is local. I don't drink, but know it's that place to be and their brewery is not far from here. As for the food, they have a fresh made pizza oven. It's really good with fun flavors. Thin Neapolitan style crust. I also love the salads here. I went out on a limb and ordered the salmon Balt wrap. It was not my favorite, but I still know I like most other things on the menu. We also got the street fries and they were outstanding. Packed with flavor. We ordered them with jalapeños on the side, but they came on the fries. an overall great experience, service was great and i really enjoyed my burger. the old bay fries were the perfect amount of crisp and seasoning and the burger was huge so i only could eat half. it slapped in the air fryer the next day too. my partner got wings and fries and those weren't the best, but could be a day to day thing with that, who knows. i would go again for the burger and i want to definitely try the street fries next time. it wasn't packed when we went and there was a lot different spaces in the restaurant to eat as well. read more

What a lovely bar to pop into on a cold night. My friends all ordered martinis that were really well made! The bartenders were so nice and there is just good energy in this bar. Went here with my wife for Mother's Day. We had each been here once or twice before, and had a positive experience each time. What we liked: - Food. Everything smelled excellent. This time around, we decided to get the chicken sandwich, one spicy, one regular. Very juicy, great flavor. I would absolutely get it again, I just wish the bun was a bit larger to contain all of what was on it. Also had a side of the chimichurri potatoes which were also very solid. - Staff. Everyone was very kind. They delivered very well on my wife's request for extra pickles. Food came out reasonably quickly and was an ideal temperature. What we disliked: - My only real concern with Manor Hill Tavern is how cramped the seating is. I personally have a larger stature than most, so I cannot say with certainty that many others may feel the same; however, I couldn't really stretch out my arms at all and I sat kind of hunched most of the time to accommodate my seat. I could barely even scoot my seat back to get out since it was rather close to the cabinet by the kitchen. I would have been a bit less bothered had we been seated in either of the open booths, neither of which were taken throughout the duration of our meal. Overall, I would give this place a solid 4/5. I've had Manor Hill beer in the past and was not impressed by the prices for quality. I'd go again for the food, but please hold the drinks and space to move more than an inch. read more

I came here to celebrate with some friends. I ordered the street fries as an appetizer. It was good. I ended up sharing it because as an appetizer the amount they give would feed 3 people comfortably. I also got the Cobbeque salad with NY Strip Steak. Normally having a salad for lunch isn't very filling but when you add a Steak to that, it turned out to be a great meal. That said the salad is substantial on its own. Having the steak just makes it all more better. I plan to return here and next time I will try the Citrus Soy Tuna Nachos as an appetizer and probably try one of their pizzas. Great vibes here! I went on a Friday night and was genuinely surprised by the massive crowd here. My friends and I walked in and it was packed. There was no seating for another 20 minutes, but surprisingly enough they have an entirely to-go service at their outdoor garden which was quite the vibe. We were fortunate the weather was quite warm, but if it was any other condition the outdoor seating would have been a much different experience. The outdoor seating was quite nice. Sets of picnic tables on rocks, each table with two menus clipped onto the sides. There is a server to take orders for you and all the food is delivered in to go boxes. The only note is there is no free tap water for you there. The food comes out quite fast and you are limited to can drinks and caprisun (which several flavors of capri sun to pick from funny enough). I ordered a margarita pizza which was quite filling for one person and I enjoyed it! It was hot and fresh and quite delightful. For 12 dollars one of the better oven brick pizza places I have tried! My friends both ordered burgers and they enjoyed their burger and fries (came with a lot fries). Of note their menu states they have a shrimp Alfredo pizza but they actually stopped offering this. Good vibes here, just expect it to be filled during prime hours if you do not want to sit outdoors. read more

We stopped here after a day of shopping in old Ellicott City and loved our experience. We started with Alabama White BBQ wings, which were tangy and tasty. The smoked tomato ranch sauce on the side was fantastic for dipping. We also enjoyed the Maryland State Fair, which consisted of Old Bay funnel cakes with crab dip. Maybe a little over the top with the old bay flavor, but certainly unique. The butternut squash pasta with chicken was great, as was the Holy Smoke pizza. We love the Manor Hill beers that we have tried so we went to the Manor Hill Tavern for dinner and it had some interesting turns in the night haha! Our server was Kaiha (not sure of spelling) and she was very sweet! Had a great attitude with her section being packed the whole night. I got the Prickly Pear Margarita but it didn't really taste like it had alcohol in it so I don't know if that's a good or bad thing, but I got a second one because the flavor was really good. There were 4 of us and we each got something different. I got the seasonal special brick oven pizza which was Pesto, Sundried Tomatoes and Prosciutto with arugula on top. It was delicious! Salty and a little sweet. Next we had the Roasted Garlic Butternut Squash Pasta and I will definitely be back for that! It was creamy with sweet notes and salty crispy prosciutto on the top. Absolutely perfect! Next up was the Sesame Tuna Bowl... this is where it got interesting... there are slices of red Fresno Peppers on the top that are not gutted and they were so hot that my boyfriend had to stop eating because his mouth was on fire and his eyes were tearing up. Please be careful if you cannot handle spice! It was realllllly spicy! Lastly, we got the Pepperoni Pizza and it got two thumbs up for amount of Pepperoni's on it for being a 10" personal pizza. The decor is very cute and tavern-like with stone walls exposed and garland to look like something out of Ireland. All in all it was a great experience and we will absolutely be back to try more delicious menu items. Manor Hill continues to knock it out of the park as a comfortable, friendly spot with excellent food and even better drinks. The staff is really some of the best around. If you love pizza - theirs is a must and their mushroom sandwich is still something my friend talks about. All the drinks are great and they have a nice beer selection. First of all, SHOUT OUT TO THE STAFF!!!!! This was our first visit and honestly didn't know what to expect. Me and my fiancé sat upstairs at one of the high tops in the Bar area. We were immediately greeted despite every table being full and busy during happy hour. It was an all women crew (we're sorry we didn't catch any names) but every single one was amazing. Constantly were checked up on, never had an empty drink without asking for a refill or a new order. We didn't intend on ordering food, but ended up grabbing a brick oven pizza because it looked so good passing by us. We ordered the margarita pizza and added pepperoni to the pizza. I have been going to Manor Hill for many years and love the food. Yesterday, my family and I dined outside in the beer garden and my mom ordered their crab dip arancini for her main dish. Soon after, she started feeling sick. That's all she ate all day and it became to be food poisoning. I called the restaurant and thought it would be the right thing to do to inform the manager. She didn't even offer me a refund of any sorts and pretty much dismissed the whole thing. As someone who has worked and has many family members in the food industry, this is extremely disappointing. This restaurant sits on a hill in downtown Ellicott City. The parking is pretty tough on the weekends. Get there early to allow for walking. Manor Hill has multiple seating types and atmospheres. We chose the upstairs high ceiling bar. The atmosphere was really cool. There was a live band playing, sports was on the TV, and my company was awesome as usual. While our server was nice, I found him to be inattentive. We waved him down more than he took the initiative to check on us. I ordered the OG Breakfast Sandwich ($12) Croissant Bread, Sausage, 2 Fried Eggs (hard), and a Side of Mixed Greens. I also ordered a pear mule. The food was okay. The pear mule was phenomenal. I've been a frequent at Manor Hill for years now all because of their hospitality and the Holy Smoke Pizza! However, the last couple of times the pizza seemed off (very low number of jalapeños and overall disproportionate distribution of ingredients). Today, I went to get my holy smoke pizza fix only to receive an undercooked pizza with 5.2 jalapeños smothered in sauce. I was disappointed but had no time to discuss with manager especially since they seemed busy with spring fest happening right across the street. I had to put pizza in air fryer soon as I got home just so it would be edible. Maybe it's a preference and whoever is making them prefers pizza to be more doughy and cheese white and stringy, but that's not what I came for especially since that's not how their brick oven pizzas have been over the years. And there's no excuse for the minimal jalapeños when it's a main ingredient for an $18 pizza. Hoping this doesn't become a pattern. I knew about Manor Hill's beer before their physical locations and I've been a fan. They offer a decent variety of beer types and I can't recall any that I haven't enjoyed. That being said, they do a great job of understanding what their demographic and customer base want. They have a few locations (tavern, brewery in Ellicott City, and I believe they either own or partner with Victoria Gastro Pub). Manor Hill's ambiance has a mix of "tavern" and "pub" vibes on the inside with stone and old wood being the main materials found in OEC. They also set up a rooftop and outdoor patio nearby that allows you to enjoy the character of the area. I would definitely recommend dining in versus carrying out if time permits. The menu selection is a combination of sandwiches, pizzas, and salads. Everything feels fresh and balanced especially from what I would typically expect at a pub. Their sandwiches range from burgers to chicken sandwiches and Cubanos and their pizza menu offers pre-selected combinations or a build-your-own. The salads appeared to have very generous portions from what I've seen. Their service is kind and attentive. They're usually pretty busy, so I could see it being pretty easy to lose track, but I've never really felt that way (although I think the rooftop does get less love because it's out of the way from the rest of the tables). They do run happy hours from 4-7PM on weekdays with pretty good deals on a few taps, cocktails, and menu items. Manor Hill has been a great addition to the OEC area and I'd definitely recommend if you're in the area. read more
