I made an order for a pretty straightforward combo and they said it would be 20 mins or so. I went to the grocery store for provisions and came back to a hot pizza. This does cause a lot of grease drippage and my poor t-shirt caught the brunt of that, unfortunately, but I was able to do improv cleaning in the sink at the hotel so no harm was done. Overprice pizza that skips on portion sizes. Upper Crust Pizza is the skimpiest pizzeria I've ever ordered delivery from. To be fair, when I first ordered from them online, I just selected their default pizza sizes, without checking the actual size of the pizza. I ended up getting 3 personal size pizzas and 8 chicken wings. While I admit that to being my fault, the final price of my meal was over $70 and couldn't feed 6 people. For that price, I was expecting 3 large pizzas and more than large size wings. As mentioned, the pizzas were personal size, and were extremely thin crusted. This would have been fine, if I didn't spend $15 on each one. At that price, I was expecting a medium sized, 14 inch pizza. As far as flavors go, the pizzas were fine. Crust was crispy on the bottom. Sauce was well seasoned. Nothing particularly blew my mind other than the jerk chicken on the jerk chicken pizza. The wings were extremely disappointing. $15 for 8 of the smallest, dryest wings I've ever had. Very little sauce or seasoning. Service was surprisingly quick, as I received my delivery within 30 minutes of placing my order. Uppercrust is overblown as the best pizza in Ellicott, and I'll continue looking for better alternatives. read more

After doing my oil change that took me way to long to complete, I was starving. Upper Crust is nearby and I felt like having a gyro and wings. Put my order in over the phone for pickup and drove over 20 mins later. The guy running the front was friendly and pleasant. Once I got home and opened my food, I noticed I did not receive my blue cheese with the 6 honey bbq wings. Oh well, the wings were pretty good....but notice my photo of the receipt! Those wings were over a buck each! I compared these prices to other wings in the area and it seems to be on par. I normally do my own wings and didn't realize how much they cost. I should open a business! lol The gyros were pretty good. The feta comes in really big squares so I crumbled them to get them more even throughout. We had one chicken and one lamb gyro. I really want to say Go get this phenomenal pizza , but my experience just left me flat as the pizzas . The fried mushrooms were good, thus is the 3rd star. The Italian white pizza had melted cheese, but as far as the rest of the toppings, they must of ran off during baking. There was a hint of spinach, tracks of green, but nothing substantial. As for the Greek pizza, sparse toppings on a perfectly baked crust (the crust earns a star). The big soft comfortable recliner behind the counter earns another star But the tiramisu for dessert, a creamy pastry that lacks any kind of coffee flavor...... Their limited online presence was a little concerning, but usually those end up being the best pizza places! This one was no different. Upper Crust also offers a Halal menu for those that need to stick to that kind of menu. I ran into trouble trying to get bacon in my calzone because of it, but I didn't have a problem substituting it out. We walked in and ordered to dine-in and experienced a little bit of a language barrier with the assumed-owner of the place. Between the barrier, brash attitude and the loud TV, it made it difficult for us to order - however - everything came out as ordered and it was super delicious! I got a calzone with pepperoni and sausage (pizza sauce comes on the side). It was on the larger side and I ended up taking some of it home for leftovers. Friday evening and, after searching for delivery on Yelp, I accidentally ordered pizza from Upper Crust thinking it was a joint I had ordered from before. It ended up being a happy mistake! I ordered an XL supreme, which allowed me to choose my five preferred toppings, along with an order of garlic parmesan wings (cuz I couldn't find a plain option), and a Sprite. At first I was mildly annoyed because the estimated delivery time was an hour and 30 minutes and I was STARVING, but the pizza ended up coming in a little less than an hour. Now, my preference is always for NY-style pizza, which this isn't, but it's still good. The toppings - beef, sausage, mushrooms, peppers, and onions - were all fresh, the sauce was a bit sweet and tasted of fresh tomatoes, and the crust was flavorful and the slightest bit crunchy on the bottom. Overall, a very nice pizza! The wings were meaty and fairly well-cooked as well. My only complaint was that the driver brought me a Coke rather than a Sprite, but life goes on. I got a medium half cheese and half pepperoni and it was great! One of the best pies I've had in a while! I would've taken a picture but my phone was dead while eating unfortunately. There was a perfect amount of sauce and it complemented well, the cheese was perfect, and the beef pepperoni was perfect as well. I have picked up delivery from there before as a Dasher and then the reviews looked promising so I decided to fork over more money than it was worth and Doordash my order, especially since the wait time was to be shorter than if I had gotten it delivered from UC directly. First off, I know as a DD driver that Upper Crust requires you to have a hot bag when picking up but for some reason the Dasher arrived at my door with my 14" and 12" pizza in hand-- no bag. To my dismay the boxes were not hot and therefore I knew my pizzas wouldn't be either. I was right. Lukewarm pies - YUCK. I didn't shell out $35 for mediocrity. Although I drive for DD, I promised that I wouldn't order through them bcz I've seen other drivers not use the hot bag, I always do and this is precisely why, NO ONE WANTS COLD FOOD. As far as the pizzas go....meh. I ordered the cheeseburger pizza for my kids and a white pizza for me. Flavors were okay but then the crust was definitely not NY style as some had purported. It was just regular like grocery store pizza and with that, Aldi's take home pizzas are way better! I really wanted to like this place but aside from my first Doordash experience, this place was only okay. I have had better pizza delivered from Boli's for much less. This is my go-to pizza place for home. There aren't a lot of places in Marlyand to get a great gourmet pizza... and this isn't one of them, But, when you need a large pizza to "hit the spot" for a pizza craving, Upper Crust will more than do. Upper Crust is really focused on the idea of to-go and delivery pizza (very limited seating, and no real ambience in the shop itself). The toppings list is respectable, but nothing crazy on it. This is a very standard crust pizza, with a slightly acidic sauce and a good cheese blend. They get them ready really fast, and the price is reasonable. I've had a few pizzas here, and they are very consistent in there quality. And yes, I'll keep going back here - not just out of lack of alternatives - because they do what they set out to do really well: Create to go pizza's at an affordable price that satisfy a pizza craving. Warning for any Way-laid boston folks: This upper crust has nothing to do with Upper Crust from the Hub (and Florida) - so don't expect gourmet pies, outstanding taxes, unpaid Brazilians, corporate espionage and lawsuits here - just a pretty good pizza from some local guys. read more

The good recent reviews made me want to check this place out. I ordered a pizza with bacon and mushrooms, and the most surprising thing to me was how it was not greasy at all. This was a big plus to me because in addition to being not greasy, the pizza tasted very good. There was no shortage of toppings and a good ratio of dough/cheese/sauce. I do not consider this pizza NY style though. It was not chewy or as thin as I'd expect from a NY slice. I'd probably give the pizza 4/5 stars, but b/c my expectation was a NY style pizza, 3/5 might be more appropriate (not bad by any means).
