First visit so we ordered mixed appetizers so we could try several things. Kebab was so dry as to be almost inedible. Onion bhahi was limp long slices and pretty much flavorless. You could tell that the pakora was probably good when it came out of the fryer but it was packed with no steam vents so it was soggy. Samosa crust was dry and hard and the filling was overcooked and had no flavor. The garlic and spinach naan were both good. Butter chicken was terrible--weird texture and tasted flat, and didn't have much actual chicken. The vegetables in the Jalfrezi were so overcooked--just mush--and the sauce was oily. Really disappointing. Maybe an off night but we'll keep looking for our fave local Indian food. (Oh, both chutneys were great.) read more

This place is over priced in accordance to the taste. Taste was below average and the quality of chicken used was substandard. I ordered Chicken Kadhai and it was full of green bell peppers which was overpowering the taste of the recipe and Malai Kofta was too salty to eat. Kofta were not fresh either. Overall, not worth spending money on bland flavors. I will not recommend this place especially if you are looking for fresh authentic Indian flavors and quality. I will never go again. read more

I fell for the reviews and am disappointed. Paneer tikka was orange and creamy. Even after washing my hands 4 times, it's still yellow. Lamb karahi: the lamb and curry was cooked separately. So the lamb tasted bland even though it was in the curry. And the yelp free dessert for checkin, it is apparently only for kheer. This is not mentioned on the checkin offer. The food was one of the best Indian fare I have had, and in a region where you cant throw a rock without hitting an Indian restaurant, that has a lot to say about this food. I have had some pretty good Indian food in the Seattle metro area and there is a lot of good food out there (some not so good!) but Manraj Palace is putting out some of the cleanest and freshest Indian comfort food I have been able to find. It can be common to get overly spiced, maybe even too greasy or "muddied" Indian food, but I really cant say enough about the Manraj Palace establishment and its class of food it serves up to its guest. What I like most? : Eek, too hard to say on this one, probably the flavor and satisfaction in the food, but the customer service and menu options are close 2nd and 3rd. what I liked least? : Well this is probably the one thing keeping it from being a complete 5 star. We came on a Sunday after black friday around noon. We were the only ones there. Not really a way compare service as this was our first visit. We had 2 adults and 2 children with us. The Indian women was very kind, talked to our kids and was helpful. The younger lady who was in training never smiled and seemed like she did not want to be there. We ordered Channa Masala and Daal. I was surprised how long it took to get our food as Indian food is usually pretty fast. I think we waited about 35 minutes, which is tough with little kids. The food was fresh and tasted good. I visited this place with my friends after a hike. It might be a little difficult to locate this place as the board is very small compared to other neighboring restaurants. The food is amazing here. The Paneer used in all dishes (appetizers, entree) tasted fresh as if they make it right there. I'm a vegetarian so can't really talk about the non-veg dishes. Though my friends did enjoy the TandooriChicken appetizer they had. For drinks they have many options, but do not miss out on Mango Lemonade. It reminds me of Frooti which I had back in India. When my family and I pulled in to the Safeway shopping center in Kent, I was thinking of stopping at the Teriyaki place next to Manraj. The moment my son saw the restaurant, though, he said "Indian Food! Yeah!" And my wife agreed. So the die was set. The staff here is always friendly and kind and the food is fresh. The restaurant is cozy and clean with Bollywood videos playing on the flatscreen. It feels good to come in. My wife always gets the Mango chicken made mild and she loves it, while I range through the menu on different things. My son got the Chicken Dalcha and I ordered it too spicy for him (my bad). I always use yelp to find good restaurants. I have learned to trust it. Generally, a "highly rated" restaurant in yelp promises to provide you with a good dining experience both in terms of service and flavor. However today, Manraj Palace failed in both departments and that is why I decided to intervene. Today, I ordered take-out food for dinner and I was disappointed with the way I was treated and with how bland and spiceless my "Indian dish" was. My biryani was an absolute disaster. It had absolutely no flavor and spice. For an Indian dish, it was a total failure. The mixture of the rice and the chicken tasted kinda earthy and there was a weird taste lingering in there. After eating a spoonful, I got up and took the rest of the dish to the kitchen and dumped it all into the trash. The biryani came with a cherry on top! No, literally, it came with a maraschino cherry on top. I did not understand the purpose or intention of the cherry and how it went together with the rest of the dish. I did not have a good experience with ordering the food and interacting with them either. Because their website was down, I decided to call and ask them about their menu. Unfortunately, the rude lady who answered the phone mocked me in a condescending tone for asking questions about their menu. Her condescending tone and behavior was reinforced when I arrived at the restaurant to pick up my food. She was sitting at the back of the restaurant and decided not to come to the front to greet me. When paying for the food, I was trying to ask her whether or not I should swipe my credit card or insert it into the chip reader. She interrupted me and shouted out "swipe". All in all, I would not recommend this restaurant to a friend. A restaurant like this should not have a 4.5-star rating on yelp. Yelp can do better. read more

Yesterday was my first visit to Manraj and despite the rave reviews I was quite disappointed. I order take out and as the woman was taking my order she was very curt and rude while on the phone. I paid 14.18 for Paneer Masala with a side of rice included. The dish itself was a very small portion for the price compared to what I'm used to and the flavor was so so. My biggest gripe is that the Paneer was a bit mushy versus the bounce that I'm accustomed to whenever I get my favorite Indian dish. The masala was decent and had a lot of heat even though it was 2 stars out of 5 on the spicy scale. Due to my first experience I don't think I would return to Manraj for another meal. Maybe they give smaller portions for take out customers but the experience as a whole wasn't what I was expecting after quickly glancing at the 4.5 star rating. read more

Imagine my surprise when I saw they carried beer imported from Sikkim! The food was delicious and the place reminded me of the many fond years in North India and Bhutan. The naan wasn't the best I have had but I did pick up and had a 20 min drive home. Level two spicy was not normally spicy enough for me ( usually I like 3-4) but I am pregnant and dont like spicy right now for some reason...less spicy lets u taste more flavor!
